The LCD doesn't work.I bought this remote to replace my Vizio soundbar's original remote after the LCD on that one stopped working. Well, the replacement's LCD never worked AT ALL as soon as I opened it and put batteries in. So it's a pointless purchase since the control buttons on my original still function fine.1Works better than the remote that came with my soundbar!My VIZIO S3851w-D4 soundbar came with a silver version of this remote. Even with fresh batteries, it was always a bit wonky at times. When we moved, the movers (who missed their calling for demolition, judging by the horrible shape our stuff arrived in) claimed the remote among their many victims.I was concerned with all the reports of the LCD screen not working on various replacement remotes, and decided to take a gamble on this one. Works FLAWLESSLY, which means it actually works BETTER than the remote that came with my soundbar! I'm debating picking up a second one, just in case.I'm extremely pleased and highly recommend!5This is embarrassing, I returned it because I believed reviews over customer serviceI ordered this replacement for my Visio sound bar remote when the display stopped working. I felt like I had recently changed the batteries on the original remote, which worked except for its display, so I just transferred them to the new remote. Then I got angry when the replacement's display also did not work. I came back to Amazon and reread the reviews, most of which complained about the display. I contacted the seller, who asked me if I was using new batteries. I said yes ... And then they suggested I replace the replacement. When it arrived I transferred the same batteries again. Same result. But then I tried new batteries, and all three remotes work just fine. I am embarrassed, but not too proud to admit that I was wrong. This remote works as well as the original, and it has a better feel to it. I am keeping it as a spare, since I already returned the first unnecessary replacement remote. I hope this story makes sense. New batteries work.5Backlight doesn't work.My wife bought this as a gift for me because I lost the remote to our soundbar. Got it and tried using it, nothing was working. Thought it was defective until I saw other reviews that said these were junk and you needed a flashlight in order to see what was displaying on the "screen" of the remote. Sure enough, that works. You literally have to put a flashlight to it in order to use it.Also, states in the description it's compatible with my model sound bar but there are several options not present that my sound bar has and my old remote use to have (including EQ).Technically it works but it's junk.2Really bad remotesDon't buy this if you are hoping this remote will have an easier screen to read it's just as bad as our original. the only time these remotes have a crisp clear readable screen is when you have fresh brand new batteries but with my experience that only last about a week and a half.1Good replacement remote but...I like this remote vs the original that came with my Vizio s3851w-d4 sound bar. Once I put those in, lo and behold the screen worked better than the original. I could see it much better than the original.And for those who are complaining that the backlight doesn't', as much as I wish they did so I can see it in the dark it, there is no backlighting on this remote NOR was there one on the original.I am very pleased with this remote.5Would be nice but...I bought this remote to replace one that had been chewed up by a puppy. I bought this one specifically because it has a screen so I could adjust the bass, treble, etc; however, the screen does not work. So only two stars. It turns on the surround sound but doesn't do anything more than the chewed one did.2remote works, screen difficult.....I own a Vizio soundbar with the same remote Yes, from the beginning "this remote has worked great", it's the "so called " LED screen. I'm sure vizio knows about this problem. I thought maybe it"s the batteries,....nope, fresh batteries. I took a flash light to shine on the screen, and if you tilt the remote to the light, "you can see the menu " You can then, scroll thru your menu, yes it's a problem to do, but " it work's " . With this new remote, I can see the screen much better than my original remote. I just have to shine my flashlight on it..... Love the Bluetooth option on this device....4
