Customer Reviews

Stay away from this one...I thought this would be an excellent, low-cost alternative to the high-priced Voyage cases out there. And indeed, my first impressions were very favorable. I had read reviews for other products from this manufacturer that complained of "the magnets coming off" ; I should have listened. After less than three months, the case has cracked away where the exposed magnets are, and they've fallen out, rendering the item useless. I tried to glue them back in, to no avail. This is a fatal design flaw, IMHO, and my advice is to pass this item up as a waste of your time and money.1Wonderful cover, but misleading description of colorI love the cover functionally. It was easy to put the kindle in, isn't showing any wear yet, and feels nice while reading.Aesthetically I'm less happy. It it shown and described as "black". Under most lights it is actually dark blue. I showed it too other people to make sure I wasn't imagining it. Not a problem if you like dark blue I suppose, but it's not really my favorite. I'll probably replace it with a different pattern at some point in the future. Attached photo taken in sunlight to show blueness.4Looks pretty, but it s disintegrating! So I ordered this to replace a lovely case I had purchased for mine when it first came out where the magnets on the edge had decided to do a little jail break and run away. It didn t have any effect on the sleep/wake function just wouldn t keep the cover closed. This time, I opted for a cover in which the magnets were kept in a little nub on the side thinking, This will be better! For that fact, I suppose it *was* better, but the entire case cracked like hell on the bottom corners, lol.My Voyage lives in my purse, and as such is in a place in my purse where there is padding for such devices already, as well me placing it in a neoprene sleeve for added safety because I like to take care of my devices. This cover didn t give a crap, and cracked up very, very quickly. I still love it because it s visually stimulating, but I am looking for another new one as we speak.3A Good, Useful CoverI ordered this at the same time we got the Voyage E-reader. I am quite happy with it. The colors are good. The texture on the outside is nice and easy to hold on to. It stays shut for me, is reasonably sturdy and easy to handle. I have not had trouble with picking up an unacceptable amount of lint on the inside of the cover - an area that is somewhat "fuzzy". My only concern with it is that when I prop the Kindle up against something to read while eating, the cover tends to slide into a crooked position. I think if I used it this way a lot that the cover would eventually get damaged or "tired" from this. It isn't a big deal, but just something to know if you like to prop you Kindle up on something to read.4It is turning pages on the kindle when closed and didn't protect the kindle.I really liked this case when I got it. However, I have been using the case now since the very end of November and recently whenever I reopen the case to the page has changed. I think it is tapping the screen or the buttons when it is closed. It happens nearly every time, including when it is just closed and put down on a table, not put in my purse. It is rather frustrating. It seems to protect the Kindle fine, but I would prefer to not have the cover turn the page for me.I am changing my 2 stars to a 1 star. My Kindle was in its case from the day it was bought. And yet, while in its case and in my purse the screen broke! I keep my electronics in cases so they are protected. My purse wasn't dropped or tossed around. I used my previous Kindle, in a case, including keeping it in my purse, for years and it is still working. Buy the voyage is now a paperweight. I cannot recommend this cover to anyone. It failed at its one job.1So Much Better!I returned the origami-Kindle cover and got this one instead... So much better: It's light, puts my Voyage to sleep when closed, reasonably priced, and pretty, too!One thing I noticed when searching for a Voyage cover, though: Make sure it fits the Kindle you own. This case comes for the Oct. 2014 release and the Voyage which, apparently, are slightly different. Also, I read on a different review that you cannot return it.5Looks great, feels awfulI wanted to give this a better review, but I just can't. I love the design on the cover, but that's as far as my love goes. I broke my origami cover, my fault, not a faulty product, and decided to try something lighter. That's my only complaint about the origami cover, the weight. This cover has good reviews, and for the price, I figured I would give it a go. I have a few issues with this cover. First, the texture of the velvety part is awful, not awful in that it scratches your screen when closed, but just awful to touch. If weird textures creep you out like they do to me, then do not buy this. It's like touching unglazed pottery. Eek! Second, the page is constantly changed when the cover is closed. I have no idea how this happens as you have to swipe to unlock the screen, but it happens--and not just one page, it is several at a time. I have even resorted to hitting the power button and then closing the cover and it still happens! Third, it's an act of Congress to get your Kindle out of this sucker. Finally, I found it very awkward to hold my Kindle in my left hand because the bulkiness of the cover at the fold. Not to mention that to hold it with my left hand means I absolutely have to touch the velvety part, whereas if I hold it in my right hand, I can put my hand between the cover and the back. At least with the origami cover I can hold it in either hand if the texture is bothering me, which rarely happens. I waited to write this review until my new origami cover came so that I could ensure I had not glamorized it in my head, and I can confirm that this does not even closely measure up.2Beautiful but flawedI love the look of the cases I bought for my Voyage, but don't find that it works well to turn off the device, which unfortunately doesn't have the handy button of prior models. Both cases had the same problem -- turns pages while it's closed, and/or stays on (leaving me with terrible battery life) while the cover is closed. At night, the glow from the awake kindle tells me my battery is dying.... And it is terribly difficult to remove the kindle from the case -- I ended up breaking a corner of the case, and worrying about my kindle screen the whole time I tried to pry it out. Tried the suction cup idea, peeling it off, popping it off, and various friends and family also tried, before I gave up and pried it out. To be fair, I think it is possible that this was made much worse by my having a "skin" to match the case on my Kindle, which conceivably could have added just the slightest thickness which might have caused these problems. Nonetheless, I love the Tree and Flower design, which isn't available in a case that actually works well, so I'm hoping they will make one for my new Oasis and that they've fixed the problem.3Does not fit the Voyage as well as it should.I had purchased a cover a couple years ago and it was getting worn so I decided to get a new one. I really like the fit and feel of the cover that I had, so I found the order in my history and clicked the link.. and assumed I was ordering the exact same cover as last time - Well, it wasn't the same. Different seller, cover a little heavier, the case fits well around the kindle but the "front cover" doesn't quite fit right and it's very easy to turn the kindle On with the cover closed, AND advance a couple of pages depending on how you're holding it. I love the design, but it does not fit the Voyage as well as it should.3Fair value for the money, good thing it doesn't cost muchLightweight, and it seems reasonably well constructed. That "Origami" like folding front cover/stand is more sales hype than it is a value-added functionality. It works, not all that well, but it works. You can't really use the page turn buttons when using the cover to stand the reader up, you'll need to use a screen swipe to turn pages, and even then you will run the risk of knocking the precarious thing over. However, as a cover only, this thing works well. The real question the buyer should ask is, "just how important is it to have an ebook reader this small and light stand on its own on a desk or tabletop? I think most people won't use the cover as a stand because it's kind of inconvenient, and those who have a genuine need to stand their reader up would be better served by an inexpensive smartphone or tablet stand, anyway. As an inexpensive cover, it's great. As a stand for an ebook reader, it's not that useful.4
