  • Converts plugs from all countries to plug adapter for wall outlets in Australia, New Zealand, China, and other countries with Type C outlets.
  • Good for Grounded or Non-grounded plugs from other countries.
  • Note: This does not convert the voltage from 110V to 220/240V. You will need a Voltage Converter for that.

Customer Reviews

Does the job These are universal plug adaptors for US to Australia (I have only used in them in Australia with predominately US electronics.) However, they are a little on the cheap side. Depending on what you are plugging in-they may spark a little even if you are using a smart charger/converter.I ordered four of these adaptors, and at least one prong on two of the chargers is wobbly or lose. These work in a pinch and are much less expensive than the adaptors you can find in most places in AU-but there are higher quality adapters out there.UPDATE: After using a few of these adaptors for 6+ months, two of them have managed to blow out single outlets on three different power strips I have purchased. After checking voltages, and using much more expensive adaptors (and taking an Australian testing/tagging course) I can safely say it was these adaptors that caused the power strip to malfunction. I still give it a two-star rating because they are decent for the price-but be careful when using them especially in a power strip. 2Compact The adapter is neat, tidy, compact and fully functional. For NZ, Australian, and similarly equipped countries I recommend this adapter. I have had an identical trouble-free adapter, supplied with a purchased electronic device, for several years. Until recently I have searched & despaired of finding a source for a similar additional adapter. Amazon has done it admirably. 5Excellent Adaptor I bought a couple of these adaptors for a recent trip to China and couldn't be happier.Features:1. Converts almost any power plug to the Type I plug common in China and Australia. [I believe the only exception is the Type M used in South Africa and a few other exotic locations].2. Accepts grounded (three prong) and non-grounded (two-prong) plugs.3. The Type I "male" side of the plug includes the ground connection.4. Solid construction--very well built. Some notes if you travel 'abroad':1. These adaptors will only bridge the physical connection between your power cable and the wall outlet. They do not perform voltage conversion. Before using, make sure that whatever you are plugging in will accommodate the local voltage. The US is 120 Volts @ 60 Hz --most of the world is 220-240 Volts @ 50 Hz.2. Some applicances will require a voltage transformer--which is another product altogether (usually higher wattage devices like hair blowers and soldering irons--but your mileage may vary). Always check the limitations of your devices--the requirements (voltage and frequency) are generally labeled adjacent to the power cord or plug. This is true for laptops, cell phone chargers, electric razors, etc.3. Always use the 3-prong (grounded connectors). They are safer than the two-prong types and tend to be much better built. I have had the two-prong adaptors disintegrate on me -- leaving the disembodied, bare metal blades stuck in the outlet. Yikes! That's why I love this adapter--very well built.Happy travels! 5Worked as expected We used 3 of these adapters in Argentina using US devices. Everything worked fine: we charged cell phones, 1 laptop, 1 tablet, camera batteries etc. No issues using those. They look and feel reasonably sturdy. Have used them for a week only, cannot comment on long term reliability. As a side note not related to those adapters (as far as I know): I thought it would be smart to bring a US multi-outlet with us to plug on one of those adapters, to get even more recharge options (we have many electronic devices). It did not work as expected. As soon as the multi-outlet got switched on, the apartment fuse would short. Anyway, again, using those adapters straight with the device to be plugged in worked perfectly fine, you may just have to get several of them ... 5This Works! Ordered for a trip to Australia/New Zealand and the South Pacific. It worked in Australia but the plugs in New Zealand and French Polynesia were different. I am finding more and more that there are "U.S." style receptacles available in most high level hotels all around the world. This was so inexpensive that I found it good to have along. Actually it was a second one like this. I must admit, I generally carry a power strip along and only ever need 1 adapter - if that. We plug the adapter into the wall and run all devices off the converted power strip. 5Good plug adapter (not a power converter) I recently used several of these adapters on a month long business trip to Australia. I had a little trouble getting this brand of adapter to fit in all outlets, but was always able to get it in.One thing to note...this is only an adapter to adapt the plug type to fit into the outlet. This isn't a power converter. Most computer power supplies and phone chargers can handle the extra voltage without a converter, but read the label on what ever device you are plugging in to make sure it can handle 220v. If it can't or if you aren't sure, use a converter. Bestek makes a good inexpensive one. 4Extremely Handy Now you only want to use this on something that can accept multiple voltages, because this is not a converter or step down transformer. I used it with my work laptop, because the power cord for the laptop can handle multiple voltages and feed the consistent voltage required by the laptop. So, for something like that this is perfect. It allows you to use your laptop in any 240V outlet. 5Poor design I purchased three of these adaptors specifically because they have a relatively low profile and they're earthed. The reviews also seemed favourable. However, anything that's plugged in to them is really loose, and it either falls out or leaves the plug's prongs exposed. The plugs I'm using are standard US 2 pin and UK 3 pin, and they work fine with all my other adaptors. At first I thought it was just the one adaptor, but all 3 are like this. The adaptors still work OK, but the plug should be gripped tight and not just sitting there.I could probably bend the copper clips inside each slot so it grips better, but I will just return them and buy another brand. Also, the earth prong on the adaptor is longer and wider than the live and neutral prongs. That means it won't work with some power points/double adaptors etc.Plugs in Australia usually have the earth prong a bit longer, but never wider like this. It's almost double the thickness of the other 2, and I really have no idea why they made them like this.I'm dumbfounded, how hard is it to make such a simple device?G'Day from Australia. 1Reliable but a bit hard to remove as time goes on liz: It's worked for a whole year and hasn't failed, but it got increasingly hard to remove from Australian outlets. I really had to fight to pull it out sometimes. That doesn't cause any damage for the US plugs you insert into this, it is only the "male" end of this - the angle of the prongs relative to each other got more acute over time. It certainly gets the job done, though. I don't think it does any voltage conversion, but I could be wrong, and my devices seem fine for it (no overheating or battery issues). 4Update 10/26/2012 Update 10/26/2012Well....they are inexpensive, you guessed it - not all of them worked!! Beware.Disapppointed that the manufacturer has no quality control over this adapter. Some of the prongs are thicker and cannot be inserted to the outlet. those that I was able to plug into the outlet works fine.Giving it a 2 stars instead of the 5 stars. Will try to contact seller._______________________________________________________________________________________________________Just what we are looking for!We are looking for inexpensive adapter and this product works just fine in Australia. Please remember that this is not a converter. if you are looking for a simple adapter, this is it. 2
