Brought my 2004 Toyota Sequoia up to date! This is everything I was hoping for. I also purchased the aux/usb kit (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072KGMJ5N/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1) and mounted it in the tray under the ashtray and drink pullout on my 2004 Sequoia. I left the control module and most of the wiring behind the same tray, as there is a good bit of room back there. It almost looks factory. Now I can listen to my tunes through my iPhone 7, while charging it at the same time. The extra aux/usb kit also gives my wife a place to charge her phone with a usb connection. I googled the instructions to access and remove the radio, and bought an inexpensive set of plastic removal tools at O'Reilly's. It took me about 1.5-2 hours to complete the installation, but I probably spent another couple of hours reading and watching the video, and getting a plan together. I also ran the microphone under the steering wheel and behind the seal to the front door and clipped it at the top of the pillar just to the left of the sunvisor. The bluetooth linked just as it was supposed to, and my steering wheel controls work also, as far as volume and changing songs back and forth. When using the phone, I do have to increase the volume of the radio in order to hear the person I'm speaking to. A bit of advice I've seen in other reviews. Turn up the volume on your phone to 100% and control the volume through the radio. Another thing that was unpopular in some reviews in the "Connected" audio that comes on each time you get in the vehicle, or when a call is received. I don't know if it was addressed before in the instruction manual, but it is now, and it's a very simple fix. I did that almost immediately, and no problems so far. I'm giving 5 stars for now, but I did see some reviews where the device quit working after a few months. I hope this isn't the case with mine, because I love it!5Bad experience with USA SpecGood product if it consistently worked. Mine stopped working and when I contacted USA spec for warranty they told me that because I bought the product on Amazon they wouldn't honor any warranty. I've had the product for 6 months and provided them with my Amazon purchase invoice. The cost to repair or fix I was told was a range of $40 to $70. I question the build quality on this device due to their unwillingness to stand by their product. To make matters worse, the CSR was very condescending and rude in his interaction with me.This is the first time I have ever posted a review on Amazon but I felt it is necessary.1Easy Installation, Great SoundI installed this in my 2007 Toyota Avalon XLS with navigation and JBL Stereo. So far it has been great.I set it for satellite radio emulation, which allows me to change tracks and answer and end phone calls using the steering wheel buttons. It comes with a y-splitter cable so that you don't lose the functionality of the AM radio that shares a port on the back of the radio with where the satellite radio would be. According to the manual, there is an additional splitter that can be purchased to retain any satellite radio functions along with this module and AM radio, but I did not need this for my installation. The sound is crystal clear. The module connects automatically, and mine was already set not to have the announcement about the Bluetooth connecting.Installation on this particular car was straight forward. I followed an installation kit video on YouTube for a different module, specifically the GTA Pure Bluetooth Kit that is specific to my vehicle. With just a few pry tools and a 10 millimeter ratchet with extension, I had this installed in about 30 minutes. This kit pair nicely with this USB and aux extension: Xtenzi USB & 3.5mm AUX extension Flush Mount 2 Meter Cable , 1/8 AUX Car Bike Boat Motercycle Lead.I removed the center console from my car and drilled a hole using this stepper bit: Neiko 10189A Titanium Step Drill Bit, High Speed Steel | 7/16" to 1-1/8" | Total 12 Step Sizes. In order to fit the plug, I had to drill down to the next to last step on the stepper bit. Just go slowly, and you shouldn't crack the plastic. Removing the entire center console was fairly straightforward. There are two Phillips head screws under the trim that has to be popped off to place the unit under the cup holders and next to the shifter. In the larger, farther back compartment, there are two bolts under the carpeting inside the compartment. Once those four are removed, simply lift and undo the wiring that power the cigarette lighters. I drilled the hole for the port in the smaller compartment and removed the cell phone holder. The whole assembly works great so far. I will update it if something happens to change that. I am concerned about the fact that USA Spec may not offer any tech support, so I purchased a Square Trade warranty. Hopefully I don't have to use it.5Easy install and operation I purchased this device to replace the Bluetooth capability in my 2006 Lexus GS 300. The Bluetooth in these cars was known to be buggy. Dropped calls, random disconnects, etc. I found the BT-45 and figured I would try. I was looking for something that would leverage steering controls and provide streaming and phone operation. This was an ease to install and operate. I had been told it would take hours to install and get working correctly. After following instructions, it took me about 45 minutes from start to finish. Once the radio was out, unplug connector, plug in BT-45 harness and then plug old connector into the BT 45 unit. Replace radio and panels and enjoy the ease of operation. Although the steering wheel controls for the phone don't work, you control the phone with the Radio/CD/SAT and all works terrific. I wish they had something similar for my Silverado and Yukon. 5Very nice basic interfaceThis is a great reasonable cost option to mod older non Bluetooth OEM radios. I have now purchased a second unit for my son's car. Most of the reviews are fairly good, and my experience is too. The first went into a base V6 2005 Tacoma. Installation of the module itself (follow You Tube) was simple. I did add a Aux and USB port separately to the center console and that took most of the time. The base V6 Tacoma only has a basic radio with CD and no steering wheel controls so I cannot comment on integration of steering wheel controls or what it might look like on higher optioned OEM head units. For the base head unit, it is just about perfect. To call out you will need to pick up your phone to dial as the base radio has no dial out interface to accommodate. Also there is no ability to list contacts, or at least on my head unit there is not. So as I said, this is basic. The performance is great. links to my phone immediately, the call sound quality is better than my Mercedes Command! streaming music is simple and also sounds great. This unit also has a aux input and a USB charger output. It is unfortunate that the USP port is only charging and will not accept music files, but if your desire was to integrate your phone and have a convenient charging port, than this fits the bill.5FIX!! 10 months later failed... Lexus es350Works exactly as it says! The only reason I am writing this review is because it finally failed(kinda) after 10 months. One day it just up and stopped working... I could connect but no sound. The fix was easy. Mine came from the factory with the dip switches set to satellite, according to the manual. I used the setting because I don t have sat radio in my Lexus es350. I pulled the bt45-toy out and check to make sure the dip switches were still in the proper orientation(they were). I looked at the manual and set the dip switches to cdc not sure if that meant CD player, but I tried it and it worked... only on sat tho.If your hesitant to get this, don t be! It is truly a great Bluetooth that you don t need to worry about connecting every time you get in the vehicle because it does it automatically. If you buy this and it fails on you down the road, adjust the dip switches to a different setting to see if it works or not... mine did and I m sure it will for others who have the same problems...4Great idea, but didn't work as expected.I want to like this product, and for the most part, I like just about everything about this product... however, it would not work consistently. At times, it would work great. Audio from this unit sounded great, and it would show the text on screen of what was playing. However, many times, it would not work. The audio quality would start to degrade, or there would be no audio at all. To make matters worse, it didn't just affect the Bluetooth playback, it affected all audio sources. Even the FM radio would not work, and I couldn't even change the volume, however, the text would show up on the screen, and it would pair with my phone and show that it's playing something, but no audio. This was installed into a 2008 Toyota Sienna.Installation was fairly easy, just remove a few plastic panels, unbolt the radio, and plug in. The hardest part was routing the wire for the microphone so that it would not be visible. Pairing with this was easy to do... but I am concerned that there is no security in this unit. It allows anybody to pair with it at anytime. Somebody in an adjacent vehicle could pair with it and play whatever audio they wanted.2Works well, no customer support.Eventually, works very well. Functions as expected, and I was able to keep the CD changer functions on the factory radio. I installed this in a 2004 Toyota Tundra 4 door Limited with the factory JBL sound system (no rear-entertainment system). The instructions didn't state how to install this on the JBL system, and I never did get a response from USA-SPEC's customer service department despite multiple calls. I eventually figured it out on my own (I'm good like that). Just plug this unit into the empty socket next to where the truck's wiring harness is plugged into the radio. The unit shows up on the factory radio display as "CD1", and the factory CD changer shows up "CDC". Song information shows up on the radio display. You still have to select your "playlists" from the phone itself, but you can use the Track Up and Down buttons to go to the next or previous songs. Navigation audio from the phone comes through as well, if you use say, Google Maps. Pandora comes through as well. Incoming calls will interrupt whatever you're listening to (including radio, tape, or the CD changer), announcing the incoming call by number (not name) loudly, but you can switch that feature off. Press the Track Up button to answer, Press the Track Down button to end the call. Bluetooth audio quality is very good, if just short of the quality you'd get from the phone being directly plugged in. Great solution to adding Bluetooth to these cars if you don't want to replace the factory radio.4Great Unit - Disable the Voice! This thing works very well. It definitely is better quality than the Grom bluetooth unit I had installed originally. The ridiculously loud "connected" sound this thing makes on connection each time you get in the car can be shut off by doing this (which is from USA SPEC's customer service):While your phone is streaming music, turn Bluetooth off on your phone. Press the SEEK/TRACK or TUNE LEFT/BACK button until your hear the Voice Disabled message. Make sure the volume is set to a reasonable level so you can hear the announcement.5Just DO it!My wife's '08 Lexus has Bluetooth but it's for phone functions only. After reaching several options for this vehicle, the two more popular being about $100 more, I thought I'd go ahead and give this a shot.Install was easy enough, with most of the work being disassembly of the center stack and routing the wires for the module back under the center stack. Actual connections were cake! Plug and play.I set the unit to emulate Sat radio and it works great. All the steering wheel controls work as they should to skip tracks and control volume.Overall I'm very pleased with the functionality and ease of install and would definitely do it again.I also bought the USB/AUX module that shows up at the bottom as "what others bought". Again, super easy install and seamlessly functions as it should.5Terrible bluetooth quality, SCREAMS at you every time your phone connectsEvery time I turn on my 2005 Tacoma and my phone connects to this product via bluetooth, I am greeted to an excruciatingly painful blast of white noise followed by a voice that screams "CONNECTED!" After that the audio quality is poor and the level is extremely low (phone volume at 80% and truck volume at 50-63 and you can hear it alright)Super disappointed for an adapter that cost over $100, I returned it.1
