Tripp Lite DVI Dual Link Cable, Digital TMDS. sold by Tripp LiteTripp Lite DVI Dual Link Cable, Digital TMDS. Sold by Tripp LiteI bought these for a graphics card that came with my computer. It worked very well for my needs. There are 3 different types of DVI cables/connectors. Make sure you find the proper cable or your results may not be what you wanted.DVI Connector Education 101:DVI comes in three common pin formats: DVI-D, DVI-A and DVI-I.DVI-I is a hybrid digital/analog display connector that has two pins above and below the horizontal grounding pin. Those four pins carry analog signals (Red, Green, Blue, and Horizontal Sync) that can be send to a VGA (HD15) adapter. DVI-D does NOT have these pins and only sends a digital signal. It's possible your DVI out is -A or -I instead of -D. If so they don't always work. It's important to look at the female connector - if it has four holes surrounding the slot in the connector then it is either DVI-A or DVI-I, not DVI-D.D=digital, A=analog, I= hybrid meaning it can be either digital/analog, but not at the same time. DVI-I is more expensive but takes care of the guess workIn otherwords, match the DVI cord plug to the socket of the equipment that you will be using it for. Look closely at the horizontal (or verticle) bar as the socket may or may not have the socket holes for the 4 pins (2 above, and 2 below the horizontal bar).I did not receive anything for my unbiased review.161212 5Worked Perfectly For MeI bought this cable so I could move my PC from my desk to the floor. I chose DVI because my video card does not have an HDMI port (which I would prefer to use over DVI). This cable works perfectly for my needs: running Windows 7 at 2048x1152, for desktop applications and videos (SD and HD). There are no performance issues.I don't have a Blu-Ray drive, so I can't report whether it works with Blu-Ray copy protection or HDCP. That said, HDCP doesn't work over DVI, from what I understand. You need HDMI or DisplayPort.DVI offers a pure digital connection to your monitor. If you have a choice between analog and DVI connections, try to use DVI. If you also have DisplayPort or HDMI, however, use one of those over DVI. 5fake Tripp Lite cables in Tripp lite packagingTripp Lite emailed me saying that any cable with the words 'space shuttle' on them were not theirs. I purchased a total of 6 cables (both 25 foot and 50 foot) from Amazon and they were all fake. I sent the Tripp lite email back in with each return shipment to amazon so they know about these fake cables. I forwarded the Tripp LIte email to amazon support. I hope amazon will quit selling these fake cables in Tripp lite packaging. We have no association with any company name "Space Shuttle" and would deem these cables not to be TrippLite cables. I did verify with the cables we have in our building and nowhere on the cable was set logo/name. Cables need to be returned and a refund needs to be established.Thank you for choosing Tripp Lite! Please send all replies and inquiries to:TechSupport@TrippLite.comTripp Lite1111 W 35th StreetChicago, IL 60609[...]Phone: 773-869-1233 1Improved design, works wellWorks every bit as well as the one I had bought a couple of years earlier but there are some differences. This cable has black ends as opposed to the older one which has white ends. Also, this cable is thinner, lighter and more flexible (it measures about .275 inches in diameter and weighs less than 1 lb compared to the older one which comes in at .354 inches in diameter and weighs more than 1 lb). They're a little on the expensive side but the quality is worth it. 5Very good. I liked that it has flat head screws ...Very good. I liked that it has flat head screws on the securing knobs. It s location relative to my monitor made this easy instal. BUT, don t over tighten because with a screw drive its like they are made out of wax. i.e. broke the flat head notch with almost no effort. 4Increased Effective Length Over Other BrandsYes, there is a standard for Dual-link DVI and no, not all cables bearing the nameplate DL-DVI-D transfer at the maximum rates across all available lengths. A quick check of the standards Digital Display Working Group (DDWG for reference, reveals that these can, allowing for a longer cable run length. Others are good up-to 6 feet unless otherwise stated in their respective specifications.DVI-D (digital only, single link or dual link)Can replace-DVI-A (analog only)DVI-I (integrated, combines digital and analog in the same connector; digital may be single or dual link)DL-DVI-D 6' foot only transmission-quality versions. 5Great Cable - Purchase for you LG Split Screen Monitor if your video card has the connection before buying a new video card.I just purchased the new LG Split Screen Monitor and my Video Card did not handle the 2560 x 1080 Resolution via HDMI. I had a DVI Single Link Cord but it didn't work. So glad I continued to read what I could use. Saved myself from $80 up to $300 on a new AMD 6950 Video Card. In Fact I called AMD and one salesman gave me the card I could use and then decided to call again and that is when the salesman told me to try the DVI Dual Link TDMS Cable. God Bless Him. Saved me a bundle. I just attached it and it does the job. I now have the resolution of 2560 x 1080 which is what I needed. Cable is a heavy cable not the usual flimsy kind. Connectors went right in place no problem. Love it. Would advise anyone that has purchased the new LG Split Screen Monitor which can produce 2560 x 1080 resolution to purchase this cable if their card cannot handle via HDMI connection first before buying a new video card.. 5Works perfectly for meAmazon does not list the technical specs for cables so it is hard sometimes to know what you are getting. While there are thicker cables with triple-shielding available elsewhere I chose Amazon, in part, because I didn't want to wait around for shipping when Amazon does next-day air for such a bargain. Also, I didn't want excessively thick cables because my particular install required circumnavigating a few tight spots. With all that said, this cable works flawlessly for me. I don't have an ounce of degradation and I running this 25' cable into a KVM switch and then the signal is going through another 6 feet of DVI cable and I am running at a resolution of 1920 x 1200. According to my research that is too far to send such a high-res signal over copper cable. Lucky for me it works anyway.Your results may vary depending on what equipment you are running. I am running only high-end GeForce and Quadro cards and although I thought I'd have to buy some fancy DVI signal extender everything is, in fact, working flawlessly so I'd have to conclude this cable is pretty good. 5Quality cable at a good priceNeeded longer cables to accommodate my new HON adjustable desk so it would connect from my Samsung 27" monitors to my PC graphics card, Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, without any cable strain. I was impressed with the quality look of the cables. The connectors appear to gold-plated which is considered better for signal quality. I expected to pay a higher price for the features of being longer & gold-plating, but I was relatively surprised the price was low. 5Great Cable, but possible bad Amazon stock.I ordered two of these Tripp Lite cables for a multi-monitor setup. One of the cables I received was as expected: A thick cord and dual-link plugs. As far as this cable is concerned, it's great. Tripp Lite makes some supremely good products. *smiles*However..The other cord I ordered had a thin cable with dual link plugs, not as thick of a cable as the other. I was expecting two identical products. This less-substantial cord came in the same package as the other. It might have worked, but I'd like to get the materials I paid for. 4
