Customer Reviews

Muscle Car of Surge Protectors I purchased this for use in my M/C Trailer, which I also use for camping. It is a "beast" of a product. Consider it "military grade" compared to what you see at most box stores. The workmanship, quality and function are all Grade 5+. Suggested locations you might consider for this unit would be garage, workshop, RV, and some offices. Not sure if it is medical approved. I was going to buy the 12 outlet but opted for this model. Based on size and utility, it turned out to be perfect for me. In summary if you are looking for a heavy duty, quality made in USA surge protector, move this one to the top of your list. (I would buy it again if needed) 5Great, rugged, tough Bought this for crawlspace to plug in a commercial dehumidifier, condensate pump for moisture and an internet wireless camera to monitor things. We live in NC, so it's VERY humid down here. I mounted this on a joist every easily. It has done very well and looks very rugged. I dropped it several times while installing things down in the crawlspace. Very study construction, and no problems with any of the extremely high humidity down there. The commercial dehumidifier runs about 700 Watts, so no problem with running high power items here. Definitely a great item for use in "rough" places. 5Protect Your stuff From Surges! We bought six of these for use with our tech equipment setup for a hotel based event, and these power strips are phenomenal. They withstand heavy use and provide clean, unwavering power. We had sensitive DJ gear running from these strips, and the strips did their job of providing steady AC power to equipment that can very easily be kicked off by power fluctuations. In one room, the strip kicked off from a venue power surge and did its job well, protecting our gear from electrical harm. Planning on buying several more to add to our tech kit - we discovered they are the same heavy traffic strips that our venue's iT team uses, and also spoke very highly of.Definitely recommend this great Tripp Lite product - the long cord on this strip makes it extremely useful, especially in combination with Gaffer Tape to run power across venue spaces for video and programming event rooms. 53 Months ?!? Really I purchased this in early September and on Christmas day it failed. It has never had more than two kitchen appliances running on it at the same time. Mainly a coffee maker and a blender. When it tripped I reset it and the light went back on. However, no power was reaching the appliances. I usually only use it once a day, so it hasn't really been in service more than say, 130 times. Yet, it is already burned out.Very disappointing. Contacting the manufacturer is also a very unpleasant experience. The form to fill out takes about 10 minutes because it is so unresponsive to computer input. We'll see what they have to say. 1More than a power strip I purchased the Tripp Lite TLM825SA with 25ft Cord four years ago and my experience with that one convinced me to purchase this one when I needed a second set of outlets. The only difference between the two is this one has a twelve foot cord where the other one had a 25 foot one.Since I have only owned this one for two months I cannot make sweeping statements. I live in Central Florida, which is notorious for power problems, so not using well designed protection is inviting disaster, which can be very costly considering my investment in the gear this is protecting.I will say that this one seems to have the same high quality as the older one. Plus I have already used this in locales with marginal power and it has protected my music amplifiers and keyboards. Note that one rule of thumb I use is to not overload protected power strips. If you do you will be defeating the protection that this one affords. Please bear that in mind and read the specs while making a purchase decision. If the devices that you want to plug this into exceed the rated specs on this product page this is not the outlet for you.My combined experience with both of these models has resulted in zero problems. This is a professional-grade piece of gear and it designed to protect your equipment and to last if properly cared for and used properly. 5Same protection in a different form factor In 2011 I purchased a Tripp Lite TLM825SA Safety Surge Protector 120V 8 Outlet Metal 25ft Cord OSHA, which is still going strong. A few months age I purchased another and recently purchased a pair of these. That alone should tell you how satisfied I am with the brand. This is a heavy duty protector, both physically and electrically. I live in Central Florida, which is notorious for power problems, so not using well designed protection is inviting disaster, which can be very costly considering my investment in the gear this is protecting. The main reason why I own so many is I am a musician who owns amps, a PA and keyboard and the power in many venues is marginal at best. This is inexpensive protection and I have witnessed other musicians' gear getting fried in the same venues in which I play, so I know these surge suppressors work.My combined experience with both of these models has resulted in zero problems. This is a professional-grade piece of gear and it designed to protect your equipment and to last if properly cared for and used properly. I do want to note that one rule of thumb I use is to not overload protected power strips. If you do you will be defeating the protection that this one affords. Please bear that in mind and read the specs while making a purchase decision. If the devices that you want to plug this into exceed the rated specs on this product page this is not the outlet for you. 5Perfect for musical instruments I use this both indoors and outdoors as a protected outlet for two keyboards (my other gear is protected by two rackmounted Merit Series Power Conditioners.)One rule of thumb I use is to not overload protected power strips. The two keyboards I plug into this does not come close to overtaxing this device or power outlets into which I plug it.Some features I love include the 25 foot cord, which is heavy duty and os sufficiently long for any conceivable placement situation I will encounter. And because the cord is heavy gauge, and the housing is metal, this protected outlet is designed for rigorous use.Tripp Lite's reputation for quality, reliability and safety is another reason I purchased this unit. I am a firm believer in safety and will not cut corners.I live in Central Florida, which is notorious for power problems, so not using well designed protection is inviting disaster, which can be very costly considering my investment in the gear this is protecting. Thus far I have had zero problems, and judging from other reviewers I expect that to continue. This is a professional-grade piece of gear and it designed to protect your equipment and to last if properly cared for. 5Quit working after a year. The switch still lights up but the's no juice to the outlets anymore. Pretty disappointing after just one year. (I hadn't even used it all that often - still pretty pristine cosmetically.)This seemed like one of the better reviewed units on Amazon. Guess I'll try my luck at the local hardware store. 1I removed the cable guides. Small and awesome. I was looking for a small, great quality power strip to fit in a small audio rack (live music production) and this did the job beautifully. I was hoping I could easily remove the units plastic cable management guides to save some space, and it turns out they can be, by simply removing 16 Phillips head screws that attach them to the main metal body. This leaves a super strong metal housed compact power strip. Can't use it in damp areas like this as the (small) screw holes are left open, but it worked a treat! Highly recommend. 5Only lasted three weeks So I m not sure what s going on with these things. This is the second Tripp Lite brand power strip I ve bought and they ve both lasted under a month. I use it to plug in my tools, I roll it up at the end of the day and place it in my tool bag, then repeat the next day. I never drop it or unroll it by tossing it. Both times I plug it in and the light doesn t come on so I check the switch and the switch is stuck and when I mess with it I can manage to get it to click but now juice. Not sure what honestly but it s an expensive thing to have to replace every few weeks 1
