Customer Reviews

Full Speed and light-weightThe RJ45 Ethernet port on my motherboard went out and rather than sending my computer in for repairs (and being without a desktop for a month or so) I thought I'd try a USB Ethernet adapter. When I saw an adapter being combined with a 3-port USB 3.0 hub I thought I'd give it a try to at least get me through a week or two before getting the motherboard repaired. The low price made me a little hesitant. The adapter has advertised at 10/100/1000 and I use a Gigabit router with a lot of heavy local network traffic. For $10 I wasn't expecting to hit the full Gigabit speeds, so when I did I was nicely surprised. To be precise, I didn't actually reach 1,000 Mbps, but when transferring a large file between my laptop and desktop the speeds were almost identical to what I saw when using the Ethernet adapter on my motherboard.I reached these speeds while also having an external hard drive and MIC attached to the hub as well. The only negative is the short length of the cord from the adapter to the USB port, but this is a minor issue and the adapter itself is light enough that I don't mind letting it hang from the back of my desktop tower.5Fast as advertisedImpressive little adaptor. I had a motherboard failure on my main pc and was forced to use my laptop as the primary device. I quickly found that the wifi while speedy simply could not cut it for large transfers and ordered this guy. I must say I have been very impressed with it easily topping out at 985 MB/s allowing me to transfer to and from the server with ease. Having few extra usb ports is a very nice bonus (you really don't know how constrained a laptop is until you try and use it as the primary system).5Great and solid USB 3.0 hubThis is a really solid USB 3.0 Hub. It is made out of metal and feels really durable. The cable is pretty thick and the USB 3.0 connector also feels really strong. USB 3.0 speeds are very fast when transferring data and this does not disappoint. The ethernet port on this hub also works very wells and I did not notice any speed difference when plugged into this hub. This USB hub works and feels great. This hub is also competitively priced and is actually lower than some other USB hubs that I have seen on Amazon. I definitely recommend this product.5Does exactly what it's supposed to do and stays out of the wayI bought this to use as part of a laptop dock setup along with an eGPU (not using the ethernet port on the eGPU in order to reserve all Thunderbolt III bandwidth for video). Unlike a previous low cost hub/gigabit ethernet adapter (USB Hub - Badalink 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Ethernet Adapter LAN Connector, Portable Aluminum Hub for Laptop, Mac OS 10.6 and above, Linux, Win7/8/10(Silver)), this device has no issues maintaining an internet connection through sleep cycles. The Badalink device would continuously drop connection and require a lot of re-plugging in following a sleep cycle. This Tecknet adapter thankfully does not. I get upload and download speeds that peak at what my ISP has me capped at. The best device is one that does its job and stays out of the way. Well done, Teknet.5Does not work with Nintendo SwitchIt clearly looks and feels like a quality product but sadly it was not compatible with the Nintendo Switch so I will likely be returning it. The finish on it is very nice and smooth and it lights up to let you know when there is a connection.5Works and does it jobUsing this on a 2017 Surface Pro which is replacing my giant heavy laptop when I m traveling. Some of my customers do not have public wifi and the only option is a network cable. So far, it s working and serving its purpose. Using all 3 ports with flash drives and a network cable plugged in, everything works. The unit is quite small and the cable is thicker than say my phone usb cable, but it s pretty flexible. Only time will tell with all the bending if it holds up. There's a single very small LED indicator on the top of the unit as well as LED indicators on the network side. Not using it with an external HDD, DVD drive or trying to power up the phone. Since this doesn t have an external ps, I m guessing it would not work.5Quality Item at a good price Got this to 'replace' my Dell laptop 10/100 Ethernet adapter. WiFi work fine but I'd rather be wired in.I am pleased to report that this USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet adapter AND 3 port 3.0 USB works as described and intended. The black aluminum housing adds a sense of durability and ruggedness. Each of the 3.0 x 3 USB ports are appropriately spaced from each other and the connection is blue. There is a blue power indicator. The RJ45 Ethernet adapter is on the end and has the standard green/amber connectivity light.Adapter link speed is 1Gb. My Dell built-in adapter only does 100Mbps.The USB cable that plugs into your laptop/device is just long enough to clear other cables (for me its HDMI and pwr).I am using 2 of the 3 USBs - 1 for a wired back-lit keyboard and the other for a wireless mouse adapter. This device now completes my DIY laptop dock.I recommend this product and would purchase again. Price is good, Value is better. 5Works very well for me.I'm using this hub/adapter on an ultra-book laptop which has few USB3 ports and no ethernet. Win10H has no trouble finding and using this adapter, and the ethernet speed into my gigabit switch is around 90MB/s. Seems to be very sturdily made. My only complaint (and that of other reviewers) is that the aluminum case has very sharp edges; I had to break the edges (chamfer them) with a very fine file. I don't use this adapter very often so I can't comment on its longevity yet.5Fixed an issue that normally wuld have required a ne laptopdoes exactly what it says! I had my network card go out in a laptop I love, I already had an ethernet cable so this was a great bypass - the USB ports work great too. Just make sure that you turn on the laptop/computer before plugging in the device. I wait until the log on screen comes up before hooking in the ethernet or any additional USB devices - unit gets warm so make sure it is not next to skin, I place mine behind the laptop on the table I use and no issues. I also wait until I shutdown and the computer is off before unplugging - I keep it in the box it came in as I have cats and it is the size of their toys - would defiantly recommend to my friends5BUGGY PIECES OF CRAPThe first one I got injected some code in my system that I can't get rid of (I think it edited my USB3 kext). It doesn't seem malicious, just buggy. My logd gives me a message of _handle_cache_delete_with_urgency, constantly now. Comes up maybe once every couple of hours and repeats itself a dozen for so times. I have no idea what it means, googling come up with nothing, at least nothing malicious. But now my USB 3.0 ports have been inconsistent and wonky every since. One of my external drives won't even work on this machine anymore. Which was an incredible hassle. Other drives work for some reason, but all seem a bit slower. The drive that doesn't work on this machine works perfectly on all my other machines and scores a perfect 100% in DriveDX.The seller contacted me the day after I received the hub and asked if everything was ok. I told them the problem and they sent a new one out to me direct from China. Took weeks to get here, and got it a few days ago. I plugged it in, it seemed to work as good as the previous one, if not better, but since I'm still getting those handle cache delete messages, I don't know if it screwed with anything else up. Later that evening, I restarted my machine and didn't have access to my keyboard upon restart when I tried to enter my BIOS. I immediately suspected the new hub, and of course, as soon as I unplugged it, it was back to normal. These things are junk. Don't bother with them. Although they did work for me, both were incredibly problematic, and ultimately couldn't be kept attached. I don't know what the deal is, but I'm guessing their quality control ain't all that great if I got two, and both were crap.1What a great 3. 0 Hub with RJ45 small compact and ...What a great 3.0 Hub with RJ45 small compact and great for traveling. Work great right out of the box. Fast 3.0 USB ports and was having some issues with my RJ45 (internet connector) connection on my laptop and this fix it right off the bat. Now I am getting better speed with my internet then I was with the original RJ45 on my laptop. All around very happy with this device!5
