Customer Reviews

I like the soundI have finally used these enough to form an opinion of them...here is what I think...The cord DOES make a LOT of noise!!! Even with them upside down and'clipped' to sides of my head with hair clips they still make a rustlingnoise in my ears. The sound is very decent (again for price I paid), I like the sound, butit's not amazing. They don't go loud enough either. So, not loving them. the cord noise is a killer. For the price I paid ($16.49) these are great. I wouldn't pay more forthem. And in fact, I go back and forth on wishing I hadn't bought themat all... but no, I don't want to return them.previous UPDATE:I got a cord clip for them, and it DOES help. Doesn't completely fix the rustling sound problem, but it minimizes it.NEWEST UPDATE:I was offered a Symphonized NRG Premium Genuine Wood In-ear headphones to replace this one... I'm finding them much better. Only used a couple of times so far, but they seem much better to me. Sound seems the SLIGHTEST bit better, and the rustling sound doesn't seem to be present at all with these. I like Symphonized's NRG much better than the XTC. - I will be giving a rating/review for those separately.3The XTC has a Surprising SQO.K. I bought these on a whim when they were a lightning deal? Definitely a budget earphone, one look at them and you can see that. The cord and connections are suspect and don't look to have a bright future. The earphones are lightweight and comfortable. I put comply foam tips on them and got a good seal, with very good sound isolation so good that it lead to cord noise, so you'll have to come up with a solution to that. (Wrap them around your ear or wear a shirt clip). So I was ready to pawn them off on wife or son until I heard them. EQ was flat. Low volume level: Wow, these are fun to listen to, with good bass (like you put the loudness button on) and a wide soundstage, Somehow the wooden body seems to put everything in the right place. Moderate levels: I still like it. The bass is more pronounced but doesn't get in the way of the mids and highs. The vocals are up front where they are supposed to be. The wooden body creates a unique resonance the makes them sound good, I like it. Moderately high to Loud volumes: I still like it. The voice is center stage and you can hear all the background music with good detail, the bass and other instruments resonate in the wood chamber, mix and come out sounding like much higher priced earphones. These are definitely better sounding than I expected but you'll have to treat them with kid gloves.4excellent customer service, still so-so earbudsUPDATE: Symphonized reached out and sent me a pair of earbuds that were better suited for me based on my original review. The original earbuds are still not for me, but I'm happy with the customer service that they provided, going out of their way to make sure I was happy. Therefore, this updated rating is for their service only. Thanks very much.ORIGINAL REVIEW: these buds seem to be cheaply manufactured, simply to capitalize off the acoustic wood fad. at least that's what i'd speculate based on the feel and design of these. the sound is decent, but the actual audio jack is really big. protrudes out of my device way too much and feels like it could snap. i'd pass if you're considering these.4Very impressed. Great build. Carrying case. Noise isolation. Should be more expensive. These are something else. I was very skeptical of these earbuds at first, but I liked the look of them and I'm a huge fan of the braided cord. I watched a youtube video suggesting them and I saw they were on sale for only $15 rather than the usual $25 so I bought them kind of on a whim. They impress. They close your ear so well and isolate your music which allows for deep bass and just an overall great experience. These far surpassed my expectations. I'm suggesting these like crazy to people!EDIT: About 4 months in with these the cord has started to cut in and out and I can not use them at all while moving or I get no music. There is a 1 year warranty though and I sent in an email to Symphonized to see what is next. I will keep this review updated to see if I get my earbuds replaced or how the customer service is.5Poor Build QualityUpdate 23/6/2017:Symphonized team contacted me after this review and they graciously offered to send me a replacement unit, I got it and I'm really glad that they honored their one year warranty. That's great of you Symphonized and it shows commitment to your customers, you won me over as a loyal customer :)For the price I have no problem of buying a new one if it breaks down because it's an excellent earbud.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I bought 2, this and another one. Each one Lasted only few months before one of the ear buds stopped working!!!!!5Good Set Of Earbuds With Minor Drawbacks...These earbuds are stylish, simple, and definitely a good value for the price. Just within a few short hours of mild listening, they provide good tones, little-to-no distortion, and deep bass. I didn't expect such good bass from 8mm drivers, as the strongest bass earbuds I have owned came from 9mm drivers. The bass is a bit shallow at lower volumes. Even with strong bass, it does not interfere with the rest of the spectrum a whole lot. The highs are quiet, but present. Overall, these are a LOUD set of earbuds! There are a few fallbacks for me though...First off, the 3.5mm connector is nearly an inch long. Definitely one of the largest I have seen, and I wish it was slimmer and shorter. Secondly, I did not receive any instructions on how to use the in-line controls. They were easy enough to figure out, but I fear I am missing out on something...Verdict: Definitely a good set of earbuds, although not my favorite, I will see how they hold up...4Better than Beats! Best ear buds I've ever had!First of all, I will say that I am a music/sound junkie! I love music and am very very picky when it comes to my headphones and speakers. I have purchased beats up too $400, and although I like them, I wish I would have known about Symphonized products beforehand. These have awesome sound and are very good quality. I have purchased several pairs of these and am always very impressed with them. They have just the right amount of bass and treble as one would expect if you like a lot of live pop/rock music. Some people that I speak too when using the microphone complain about an echo, but I think it is more of an issue with my phone than the headphones as I have always had great luck using the microphones on this brand of headphones. I have also had the beats ear plugs and these beat them hand down. They come with extra parts and a case and are well worth the money. Don't waste money on Beats when these are better and much better quality! It's also important to note that I have washed an older pair and they worked just fine after!5Excellent for music and voiceI love these. The sound is excellent and the noise-isolation is great. I have misplaced or loaned out my prior pairs and so this is the fourth pair I have purchased. I like the added girth of the cloth covered cables. It certainly helps me to keep them less-tangled.Phone conversations are excellent with microphone, I am hearing impaired and the voice is clear and crisp (plus there is the noise-isolation). People say I sound very clear.5Pretty but other than that.... buy a different set from them! These earbuds were on sale when i got them, and good thing because I can't imagine paying full price for these. The cord gives a lot of feedback, and I've had them for 6 months and one of the earbuds completely came off last week. Other than that the sound quality is fine and they look very nice... but overall I will not be buying from this brand again.----UPDATE---Ok, while i wouldn't buy this particular set of headphones again, the symphonized team has been amazing and gave me a different pair that were MUCH better! They listened to what I didn't like about these and replaced with better ones. Symphonized has an excellent customer service, and they are proactive about making you happy.3$16 Beats by SymphonizedFor a $16 pair of earbuds, these things pack excellent sound and durability. Add to that the fact that these earbuds have "tangle proof" and flexible wires, customize-able earbud sizes, are compatible with making phone calls on my Galaxy s4, have a gold-coated plug, and have a diagonal connector, you could consider these earbuds to be a steal. It has been over a year since I've used my pair, yet the thing is still holding itself mostly intact! Both earbuds are still working, the bass is still good, and the sound has yet not become distorted (at any frequency, nor the bass in any case, as far as my young ears can tell). Flickering has begun to occur more frequently, however, since about two months before this review was written. The only downside to these earbuds is that they can come off fairly easily, especially when wax gets on them. Because of this, I have not bothered wearing these headphones when I go for a sprint or when I work out. The earbud casing is also cheap (but there shouldn't be a complaint here, since these things only cost $16 and not, say, $150.) Moreover, making phone calls with these things on can get frustrating when you are in a loud environment, as the mic does not filter out background noises. That being said, the microphone picks up heavy breathing too.Unfortunately, like all good things in life, I foresee that these earbuds shall last me no longer than 13 months, which puts them in 2nd place for the most durable pair of earbuds ever (on my list of purchased earbuds, that is), with the Klipsch s4 earbuds being the most durable earbuds I have ever used; those things lasted almost 2 years. Note that the Klipsch s4 also costs almost 5 times the price of these earbuds! Do be wary of the fact that I prevent my headphones from tangling up, that I have never dropped them in water, or that I have put them through a mechanical test course (which would probably involve having my 330 pound friend step on them to see if they would still be usable afterwards.)On a scale of 1 to 10, I give these earbuds a rating of 8.8, and would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a cheap, yet good pair of headphones. Keep in mind that these things will only last long when they are taken good care of. If you are one of those people that toss their headphones around the house after you've finished them, don't expect them to last more than several months (or weeks for that matter.) Also, if your ears tend to get sweaty (as mine do) or you are looking for earbuds for your workout, you may want to consider wearing a different pair of earbuds (preferably a type of earbud that has the little piece that digs into your earlobe, whatever that is called).5
