    Bad shielding, signal interference, and flimsy build, oh myI have been on the search for a good quality 1/8" stereo extension cord, 12 feet long or greater, for months now. I am even willing to pay outlandish prices for over-hyped products by brands like Monster. Unfortunately, it seems that the only items available with this length are all knock-off trash, and this cord is no exception.What I really need is a power conditioner, but they tend to be quite costly. The AC outlet power in the various apartments in which I have resided has never been clean. I already battle this constantly when playing electric guitar, which picks up the 60Hz hum like a Swiffer wet mop to dust, but to have it carry over to my computer speakers is even more frustrating. Here's the scenario: I wish to play music from my laptop computer, so I plug into my Klipsch computer speakers, which produce clean audio. Due to the layout of my place, I need a longer cord, so I use a 6 foot Belkin extension (this: Belkin PureAV AV20602-06 6-Foot Mini-Stereo Extension Cable) which is very good and results in ZERO signal interference. Unfortunately, Belkin only offers this in a 6 foot length. When I move my computer across the room to my drafting table, I need an additional 10 to 12 feet of cord, and that's when the problems arise. I have tried numerous cords for this, none of which had a recognizable brand name, and they have all been about as useful as connecting tin cans with string and calling it a phone. Sure, they get the audio from my computer to the speakers, but pick up every stray electromagnetic wave along the way. The key is the power cord for my laptop. Unplug that, and the problem disappears. Sadly, it's a brand-spanking new HP cord, and I know it's not defective because the old one, and a cheap aftermarket one that I also used had the same problem (the cheap one caused worse interference).So here's the bottom line for you TL;DR people. This cord will work to connect your iPod (or other MP3 player) to your headphones, or your car's stereo aux input. If you want good clean audio signals between a computer and speakers, however, while running on unconditioned AC power, this dainty, unshielded cord is not going to cut the mustard. At this point it looks like my best bet is to daisy-chain a few more Belkin cords together. Even with the degradation from multiple connections, I think the quality will still be better. If anyone knows of a hefty, name-brand, overpriced 12 foot audio extension that I could buy, PLEASE leave a note in the comments section below. Good night, and good luck.2Very durable and high qualityIf your headphone or mic cord is too short for comfortable use, you know you need this. I've been using mine for a couple years. It's survived getting yanked on a couple dozen times, with no broken wires -- treatment that destroyed one or two pairs of headphones so far. So I have to recommend it on durability. Also, no static in the channels, and no dropped channels -- even when being twisted.5Increases Sound Without DistortionMy desk and or monitor did not have enough sound volume. This speaker corrects that problem by increasing the soundis it really really loud no. Would I use it for music enjoyment no, but to sample something on YouTube or Amazon it's fine. I take classes online and it works great. Plug & Play and it's running, no software.5It works as expected, though I later found it elsewhere at half the price.This cable works perfectly for connecting my iPhone 5 to other audio devices. I purchased it because of the slim profile ends, which fit perfectly through the remarkably small opening in the Speck CandyShell Grip case. Quality appears to be good enough to last as long as the cable isn't moved around constantly.4Cheap wire, cuts out and crackles on first use.Same as some other people have posted, wire is cheap and cuts out and crackles. The problem is in the male connection end that you plug into the device. The female connections end is fine as I tested it with multiple headphones and it was exactly the same. Just a cheap wire at the end of the day. Seen other wires like this for about the same price and chose this one because it was thinner so i thought it would work better with the headphones I go running with, as other wire's reviews said they were thick and not flexible,but a wire that works and doesn't flex well would still be better than this.1just what I neededFabulous! I bought these to extend the length of my Panasonic over-the-ear headphones which are only 4' long. Absolutely perfect. No sound degradation at all. Highly recommended.5Substandard product.The female end is too tight for fit, and when it goes in, you have to fudge around with the fit to get the proper sound - sometimes it'll come out mono or low level, partial stereo, etc; signs that the contact point isn't good and it's poorly made. I've tried using a number of different head/earphones and audio lines, so it's not my equipment but the fault is with this product. I don't recommend.2Exactly what I neededThis audio extension cable is exactly what I needed. I am a cord cutter and I have a projector setup in place of a tv and it's connected to a Roku box. I needed to set up speakers so I could get better sound quality but the speaker wires weren't long enough to reach from the projector to where I wanted the speakers to be placed.I've never used an extension cable for audio cables before so I wasn't sure exactly how this would work but I have to say that setup was very easy and everything is placed where I want it and it is working great.4Perfect length, great product!Bought to add to my adapter to hook my android phone into audi a5 stereo system. The adapter had a really short cord that would have required me to leave my phone on the glove box(where it's attachment is). I got this and the sound was all static and made a weird sound emit out of my speakers.I would not recommend this, your just going to waste 6 dollars on something that doesn't work and these cables are worth about 1-2 dollars anyway.
