I first bought these headphones while at Best Buy. I was tired of using cheaper headphones ... I first bought these headphones while at Best Buy. I was tired of using cheaper headphones and wanted to see what life was like when using slightly better ones. I wanted to primarily use these alongside my phone. Unfortunately, my phone was outdated enough that the headphones didn't work with it. I still used them with my computer, and was very pleased with the sound quality. When I finally did get a new phone, I tried them out on it and it works fine. I don't use the mute button that much and find it often snags on things and ends up ripping the headphones from my ears. They're much easier to untangle than your standard headphones.I used these headphones all the time, I liked them... but I didn't love them. I just saw them as headphones. I usually buy a pair and then once I'm done with them, I just purchase some other brand I find on the shelf. What really made me love these headphones? Late one night, I was getting frustrated because I could not find my headphones anywhere. Did I leave them at work or school? Well, no. I had them earlier that day. Did I leave them in the car? Nope. I was getting furious. I suddenly remembered. I left them in my sweatshirt. And my sweatshirt was... in the washer. I was bummed, these headphones were great and I probably completely ruined them. I pulled the soggy sweatshirt from the washer with shaking hands. I reached into the pockets. The headphones looked fine. I left them alone for the night to dry out. I woke up the next morning, dreading to see what happened to the sound quality. I held my breath while I plugged them into my phone and hit play. They sounded just like they did a week before. They were just fine. I've washed other headphones before, and they were ruined. Nope, not these. That's when I knew I loved these headphones. They went through the wash again (by accident) and still, they work just fine.I sadly lost them to some abyss later on and bought another pair from Amazon shortly after. They too went through the wash and worked just fine. I'm not saying everyone should wash these headphones, but it's good to know if they accidentally go through that they'll be fine. 5For 9 Dollars, you can't beat it. My pair of Hifiman RE-400 IEM's broke for the millionth time, so I decided enough was enough. I looked around for some cheap IEM's, because I didn't want to spend another $70 on another pair of IEM's. I then look at these, remembering my friend had a pair, and they sounded pretty decent. I looked at the prices and found one for $9. I immediately purchased a pair. When they came, I open the package up, and took the IEM's out. Yeah, they looked a little cheap, but what could I expect? I put them into my computer, and put on a song real fast.(UPDATE ON SOUND!)So, it's been a while. The low end has smoothed out and isn't as crazy as before. It's honestly perfect now. I have no problems with these earbuds, and I don't have any more reason to EQ them. The low end is perfect. High end is perfect, everything is perfect.Sound: Right away they were very bassy. If you enjoy heavy low end, these are perfect right out of the box for you. I then opened my EQ settings, and tweaked a little bit. Once I had the EQ nailed down, they sounded great. They weren't the best thing I've ever heard, but at the price point it is. Most IEM's at this price either sound horrible, or are way too overpowering in the low and the highs, that even EQ won't fix it. I am here to say that these aren't those IEM's. I then plugged them into my phone, forgetting I had an EQ on my phone as well on, they sounded incredible. I went to check if the EQ was on, and it sure was. Just a basic low cut EQ.Build: Honestly, they feel kind of flimsy, but I can't say that it'll break or anything. The Apple Earpods are flimsy to me as well, and the build on those are amazing. So I do not know how this will play out. I will update this part in about a month or so.(UPDATE ON THE BUILD!)I've had these for a couple months now. They have lasted way longer than the HifiMan RE-400's I was replacing. I haven't babied these earbuds, but I haven't been like throwing them everywhere or something like that. No cutting out on the earbuds, nothing. These things don't even have a scratch on them yet.Isolation: These are IEM's, so the Isolation really depends on what tips you are using. The stock tips isolate sound from the outside pretty well.Extras: Comes with your standard S, M, and L tips. One Button Mic as well.Fit: It's an alright fit. I could see myself wearing these for a while. I just wouldn't sleep with them on or something, for fear of them breaking.Verdict: I honestly can't find many flaws with this. These earphones are the greatest you can get for the price. I got them for under $10. I'd gladly pay an extra $10 if something were to happen. 4Long lasting and decent sound quality. These are some of the longest lasting buds I have owned with good sound reproduction. These are significantly cheaper than some others I have used as well.Good:- Sound is clean and clear.-Tangle free flat cable is truly tangle free as well as flat.- Mic works reasonably well for such a cheap pair of buds.- Good sound isolation depending on tips used.-Play/pause button works as it should. Verified on multiple Android phones. Not as good:- Bass may unexpectedly destroy your eardrums. Not super powerful, but completely surprising especially when playing a varied playlist.- Some cord noise. Has not been terrible in my experience as compared to some other reviews.- Crud collection builds up quick with these. Either I need to see a doctor stat, or these have mystical magnetic properties for collecting earwax. Fairly disgusting in either case.Summary: I've been using these daily for over 9 months at home and work, shoving them into pockets or bags without caution, and they have held up. They produce great sound considering the price. I may have some serious earwax malady. 5Good earbuds for casual use. I've purchased several of these headphones. They usually last me about 4 to 6 months, with heavy use as a transcriptionist. The first thing to go is the button on them - every time it starts to go, it will speed up, then click off. Then on... and then the button basically no longer works. If you are using them for casual use - listening to music, etc., they will probably last much longer. If you are a hardcore user, then only expect to get 4 to 6 months out of them. They wills till work after that, but the button will no longer function consistently. 4Sounds Great - Hope they hold up. So I had been looking at these headphones for awhile, I am a total headphone nerd. I buy a set of headphones every couple months it seems like, i have so many different pairs. The reason these caught my eye was 1. They are SOL and I have had good luck with their stuff in the past. 2. They have the "call" ability, most of my others do not just out of past preference. The sound quality of these are good, if you like Rap or EDM you will love these headphones. They have nice low to mid sound, the sound stage however is lacking. I bought them for talking on and talk radio and for that they are perfect as far as the sound reproduction. The call quality is also great, the callers so I am loud and clear. Now that we have established they have a nice sound to them, lets talk about the overall quality of the headphone. The finish of them is super cheap, i feel like they spent more on packaging than they did the plastic they used to make these. The button / mic area plastic feels like paper it is so thin and cheap feeling. The plastic that surrounds the earbuds themselves isn't much better, they also feel super cheap. The cord is nice and doesn't tangle but, I have never felt headphones that feel so cheap.I have only had them for about a week, I just really hope they hold up because the sound quality is great for this price range of ear bud. They are as good as the 50 - 100 dollar ear buds out there, its just the finish of the unit is super cheap. It's probably best the money went into the i2 engine to make the sound great. 4Good for the price but seem fragile First off, this goes to you Amazon, I didn't order these but i still payed for them luckily I was considering buying them and a few other options but you picked for me xDActual Review- They are great earphones, the quality of the sound was surprising and the base just blew my mind at first since i've been using the Apple ear pods for quite some time. Although the sound is great they feel really fragile, just the other day my favorite YouTuber uploaded a video and I notice the right earphone didn't work, i was upset and considered a return, a few hours later i gave them another go just waiting for a miracle and they worked again, boy was i glad I didn't have to go through the whole return process.Overall- They are great on sound quality but feel fragile at least compared to the iPhone ones which are much sturdier but lack sound quality, I would recommend to anyone who loves just feeling the bass in your ears and great sound quality... I mean who doesn't ? 4I may have just gotten a bad pair, but if you don't want to gamble... One of the earbud speakers has completely stopped working. The side that is still functioning gets static from time to time.I haven't used these very often at all as they are a spare pair. I keep them put away so nothing will happen to them.I bought this brand once before from an actual store and they were wonderful so I guess you just have to take a chance. 1Good sound. I like SOL Republic. I've bought about 4 pair of these because of their value. My first pair, I had for a long time before there was a shortage in the cord and one side went out unless you hold the cord a certain way. I liked the sound so much that when I saw them at a discounted price I bought more with other colors to make sure I always had some nice headphones with good sound. They aren't the most comfortable but that's probably more due to me not trying out the extra pieces to customize the fit. 4Awesome earbuds! I own many headphones and earbuds, from wireless to wired, and from many brands. I have more items from Sol Republic because of the sound quality. The sound quality maybe subjective, since the source of music varies from steaming apps to mp3 music players with full equalizer. I mainly use and compare with my music player, in which I can change frequencies and bass/treble, and amperage. So with that in mind, I always find Sol Republic to sound clear with highs, and great bass response right from the box. Many can argue for and against the process to "burn in" earbuds, but these sound great out of the box. The single button contains the mic, and controls play, pause, and Skip song. The angle 3.5 mm is great, easier to hold and place in pocket. The material is cheap plastic, but for the price, it can be overlooked. The cord does seem fragile, especially around the area where it connects to the drivers. The reliability and durability is unknown at the moment, since I only had it for a few weeks. Overall another great product from Sol Replublic, great for the value so far... 5Great sounding earbuds Great sounding earbuds!!! I love SOL REPUBLIC and all of their products!! Of course, I don't only own products from SOL but I love how sleek and great sounding their products are. The earbuds sound great for their price and will definitely last me a long time. I love how the wires are tangle-resistant which I very much love!!!Edit 12/3/2017So my first review was about 2 weeks from when I received the item. However about 3 weeks after this review the earbuds stopped working so I contacted SOL REPUBLIC customer service and got sent replacements. They again were great for about 1 month and again stopped working. I love the company as I still use their Original SOL REPUBLIC HD headphones after 4 years but these earbuds stopped working really quick which was a disappointment. 1
