Customer Reviews

Great customer service after encountering a few issues.I gave this four stars because of the great customer service and free replacement offered when I contacted the seller about quality problems. The item was nicely packaged and protected for shipment and it was delivered in the timeframe specified. I had some difficulty with installation and it was not possible to perfectly align all cutout features (although they are close enough). The rear skin had an unnecessary hole cut in the lower left side (not sure why). Lastly, it was difficult to get the rear skin to adhere around the rounded corners of the ipad during installation. I had to repeatedly press the edges down until the solution dried enough for the corners to stick. Despite some problems the material is of good quality and is smooth and clear once it is dry. I contacted customer support and they offered a free replacement so I am very impressed with the service and commitment to quality. 4My 4th Skinomi Screen Protector - Love it!This is my 4th Skinomi product ... needless to say, I have been real happy. Like many have pointed out here, the iPad air product is not quite the right fit. Skinomi was good enough to send a replacement - but unfortunately, the replacement still did not fit. In general, the product, overall, is excellent and I am definitely a fan. Easy to apply, works out perfectly every time! I like their approach to product application and the tools provided. Would highly recommend, when they fix the sizing issue. Not a big fan of the $0.01 cent price only to be offset by postage - Skinomi team...charge a reasonable price for the product (because it is worth it!) These pricing games are kind of silly and diminishes credibility for what is a good product and company. If I did not buy my first screen protector at the regular price (fulfilled by Amazon,) I otherwise would have passed on the product all together at $0.01. 4looked like crap on my iPad Air.I've been a Skinomi user for years and have always swore by them. But after TWO protectors for my two iPads plus my sons kindle not working out I ended up throwing them away. No matter what I did the tech skin would not line up correctly on either iPad and no matter how much or how little fluid I used the tech skin would not budge once it touched the screen. The older Skinomi protectors I have would slide around on the device, making installation and lining up a breeze. After 24 hours almost every bubble was gone just as promised but even though I did everything possible to prevent it there were still fuzzies under the tech skin that looked terrible. Besides for all that I just don't like the way they looked on the device! It was no longer smooth and when the screen was black I hated how it looked. On my sons kindle it actually looked perfect, it seemed to melt right into the screen just like how I remembered, but then 2 days later all four corners began peeling and bubbling up. I went to their website and followed every step, trick, and suggestion to fix this but within a day or two they would be all peeled up again.I gave this 2 stars simply because their customer service is excellent. I told them about my sons kindle and the same day they shipped a new screen protector no questions asked (I haven't got it yet). It was the day after that that I put the one on my second iPad and I have not contacted them about it yet. I ended up buying a tempered glass protector for my iPad and it was perfect. In 3 easy steps I had it installed and ready to use without a single bubble or piece of fuzz. I guess tempered glass is the way to go now, and if this new protector has the same problem I'll be getting my son a glass protector as well. I'd like to get refunded for the one I put on my newest iPad but I'm not dealing with the hassle of return shipping. 2Skinomi TechSkinGot this protector instead of the ZAGG shield which I has been my go to product in the past. Similar set up ~ need to spray down a liquid onto a sticky polymer shield before you can lay it down. Installation was pretty easy and straight forward. Instructions are minimalist, but easy to understand. Having done this several times in the past, it was pretty easy to install. The loss of one star is because this product required lots of spray solution to go down properly, unlike Zagg's which seems to allow the liquid to spread out. I was a bit concerned about the amount of liquid that might seep into the home key and luckily, it was not a problem. Also, the instruction says, that any small bubbles will disappear after a few days ~ so far, its been 3 days since the install, and there are a couple of stubborn bubbles that won't disappear. Grrrr. to late to remedy now. Also, the pattern for the back piece, unlike the Zagg, has small tiny tabs / strips to wrap the corners, and these look like they could come unglued over time. Will have to wait and see. 4Great Fit for the iPad Air!The skin went on really easily - yes, there were a couple small bubbles that I wasn't able to remove when I first installed the skin but they all went away within a day. The only problem was with the corners - there are small strips of the skin that wrap around to cover the corners and these were initially too stiff to adhere to the iPad. A couple hours later, the skin had become tacky enough and had started to bend around the iPad so I was able to stick these down onto the surface of the iPad. When the skin had finished drying, they were a pretty good fit for the corners of the iPad, leaving a border of only a couple millimeters on the corners that are still exposed, which is to be expected. From previous experience, I know that Skinomi has excellent customer service and warranty protection, so I would highly, highly recommend this product. 5Skinomi is worth the extra $3 from any of the "other" brands.Awesome quality... same as ghost armor or the stuff at Best Buy. The biggest thing is use enough of the solution to put the screens on then use a card to get rid of the air bubbles. I did Invisashield installs for Best Buy for 5 years so i'm pretty good. As long as you use enough of the solution you can move it around and then get rid of the excess..... also make sure you WASH YOUR HANDS.... that's where all the dirt comes from if you have any.For the back put it on and then set it outside in the heat or leave it alone for a day. I live in AZ so I just wrapped it in a towel and set it outside for an hour and it stuck to the back perfectly but I think the key here is to let it set for a little bit of time depending on how hot the area is. But works perfect and can't even tell the protectors are on there!! Tried another brand for my phone to save $2 and will never do that again. Skinomi is the best hands down 5Not the easiest to apply, but the back protector works well with the Logitech magnetic KeyboardThere's an extra cutout on back piece where there isn't a button on the ipad air. Also the top mic hole is slightly covered despite everything else being aligned perfectly. My problem is with the front. It's smeary and bubbly. Applied according to instructions and also watched their application video. For a device as large as an ipad air, I strongly suggest two vials of spray. After watching them use it liberally, it did not occur to me it would run out when trying to redo the front piece. I tried to ask for a partial refund or refund via Amazon, but the only option is to return the item to them. I intend on buying another front screen protector, but can live with the back piece. I lost an hour and a half meticulously applying this. I don't intend to take off the back even though I'm unhappy with the front. Will try and contact Skinomi directly.UPDATE- I was told by ZAGG the same thing about my iPhone screen protector, and the ripples never resolved on it. So I was hesitant to believe the strange haziness would go away on this product as the back looked great to start with. I am very pleasantly surprised to find that the screen protector on the front looks way better than it did. And mine was the perfect size on the front of the iPad air. I didn't give it 5 stars just because it was a little difficult to apply (I think I actually prefer when they come with the masking tape method) and because it does have some rippling on the back and the front has a few air bubbles that never went away. They have told me I can carefully remove and reapply, but it took me a long time to get it aligned as it was. However, I did purchase a replacement front screen protector, but have no need to use it yet. I'll wait until the Skinomi one needs replacing. 4Outstanding Product and CompanyI have used Skimono for all of my devices for the last 3 years (about 15). I had tried several brands and find Skimono comparable to to ZAGG products at a much better price. I like using lighter cases for my devices. I buy the entire body to protect my device and all my sleek cases fit nicely. the protection the skin adds equivalent to using a much thicker and sturdier case.Warranty: Their life warranty is 100% true. My iPhone skin had began to lift off the corners. I simply went on their site and included my order information and explained the issue. They have already sent the package in the mail. I have done this only once before and received a replacement of exactly what I had ordered in the past and did not have to pay for shipping.Application: They have videos that can walk you through the process. I find that the liquid is key to preventing bubbles and aligning the skin correctly. Once the skin is on, if their are a few tiny bubbles, they usually disappear within a couple of hours, just as described in the instructions.Overall, this is a quality product and a company with great customer service. 5Excellent quality and near perfect fit. This is a review for the Skinomi TechSkin, but also a comparison with another budget skin, the IQ Shield LIQuidSkin.I had excellent results w/ the Skinomi skin for the iPad mini so I wanted to get the same skin for my Air. Unfortunately, it wasn't available so I first bought the IQ Shield LIQuidSkin thinking it would be the same thing. They are not. While both can be found for very cheap (about $4-$5 shipped), the Skinomi is a better product in several different ways:1. Fit - Skinomi has a near perfect fit front and rear - 9/10. IQ Shield fit is 6/10. On the front, the IQ Shield home button and Facetime camera cutouts are too close to each other such that you have to position it so it is not centered over either areas. On the rear cover, the Skinomi fits better as well. Cutouts for volume button, sim slot, speakers, power button, headphone jack are spot on. The IQ Shield seems slightly off. I had to play with it shifting the rear cover around a lot to get it to line up properly with the various areas. Even then, it wasn't perfect as the rear skin is virtually the exact size so if you are off just a bit on one edge, it sticks out past the other edge. I have no problem with this but for the fact that getting it lined up perfectly edge to edge seemed to cause it to line up with the cut outs for things like the SIM slot being slightly covered. The Skinomi was super easy to line up all the holes with no fuss. When it is not cut exactly edge to edge, it leaves a very small portion uncovered. More importantly, once you line up all the cut outs on the Skinomi, the rear skin automatically fits perfectly edge to edge.2. Quality and durability of film. While I have only had the Skinomi on my iPad Air for a few days, I have had the Skinomi skin on my iPad mini for over a year and it has held up extremely well. I have 2 kids who are constantly using my iPads and I constantly travel w/ my mini jamming it in and out of my laptop bag and luggage and the skin still looks great. None of the edges are peeling. I can't comment about the durability of the IQ Shield as I only had it on for a few days before I replaced it with the Skinomi. I believe the Skinomi feels very slightly thicker than the IQ Shield, but it's a nearly negligible difference.3. Clarity - Both the Skinomi and IQ shield skins are equally clear and have zero silk screen effect once the water dries up. The water dried much quicker on the IQ shield - it looked perfect after several hours. On both my mini and Air, the Skinomi skins took about 2-3 days before becoming totally optically clear w/ all bubbles cleared out, etc. (another reason I think the Skinomi may be thicker).4. Feel of film - The IQ Shield has a smoother feel than the Skinomi. Whereas the Skinomi is slightly grippier. In fact, the Skinomi skin feels virtually identical to the iPad Air's glass screen. When you play games like Fruit Ninja or Infinity Blade with lots of swiping, it feels smoother on the IQ Shield - a soft, luxurious smooth feel. On the other hand, the slightly grippier feel of the Skinomi is better on the back cover because it helps you hold the iPad with ease by putting the back of the iPad on the tips of your 5 fingers. There's enough tension where the iPad will stay in place even if tilted at say a 30 degree angle. The IQ Shield is too smooth and the iPad just slips off your fingers if you try this.BUT, a big downside to the IQ Shield is it has ZERO resistance to fingerprints and oils from your skin (perhaps this is why it feels so smooth to the touch?). My iPad constantly looked hazy w/ tons of fingerprints with the IQ Shield whereas with the Skinomi, it almost seems to have an anti-finger print coating on it. It is also MUCH easier to clean the finger prints off the Skinomi. A simple swipe with a microfiber cloth and all finger prints are gone. On the IQ Shield, I have to almost scrub it and use water or other light cleaner to get finger prints off.Installation - Skinomi wins hands down because it fits better and you don't have to fiddle with it to line up all the cut outs for holes, buttons, etc. Additionally, for some reason, it took a LONG time for me to get the IQ Shield to adhere to the curved edges. I squeegeed out the water the same way on both and used a blow dryer for the edges. I could not get the IQ Shield to adhere for almost 30 minutes whereas the Skinomi curved edges adhered in literally 5-10 minutes using the exact same technique, same amount of solution, blow dryer use, etc.Packaging - Both are decent, but Skinomi came packaged in a hard cardboard tube wheres the IQ Shield came in an octagon shaped, very thin cardboard box that was somewhat crushed. I have to say both products arrived undamaged, but the Skinomi packaging is definitely better and I can't imagine the product ever being damaged b/c the Skinomi cardboard tube is quite heavy and thick.Shipping - Both vendors shipped immediately and I received both products in 2 days.In summary, I highly recommend the Skinomi TechSkin. 5Great scratch protection and grip.Great product! I highly recommend it. I had a cover on my iPad Air, but the cover weighed almost as much as my iPad. When you take the iPad out of a case it is really slick and I was constantly afraid of it slipping out of my hands. The TechSkin product provides excellent scratch protection as well as grip. I can lean the iPad up against things for viewing and it stays because of the grip that it provides. Does not provide impact protection, but helps avoid dropping the iPad.Installation was a litte tricky. I over wet the screen protector so it took several hours to set properly. Other than it taking a couple of days for all the bubbles and lines to smooth out, I have no complaints 4

Other than it taking a couple of days for all the bubbles and lines to smooth out, I have no complaints 4
