    Decent upgrade for contractor grade knobs Easily installed especially if you have existing Schlage equipment. Quality seems midrange, knobs can dent or ding if treated roughly because they are not solid. The square beveled plate helps protect the painted area around the knob from getting very dirty. They seem to clean and shine nicely. 4Love how these look I ordered enough of these for the whole house. I don't know why some people struggled with getting the screws in...I just started them by hand (can hold one side out to drop the screws away from the round knob) and then finished them with a screwdriver. Look unusual and pleasing. I am expecting them to live up to Schlage quality I have had before. 5Love these ORB knobs! These are fantastic knobs. So much cheaper than the big box stores & the big box versions require you to by the rectangular decorative plate separately. These are sturdy, high quality that you would expect from Schlage. The finish is nice & the install was a cinch. Highly recommend! One thing to be aware of: if you're using a dummy for an application that is two-sided (like a french door) you will need to purchase two as this just has one included. 5Beautiful but hope you do not need to contact Schlage Customer Service If you purchase from Amazon, and then do not figure out that you have a defective knob until after the 30 return window (my fault, ordered too early and new doors were not ready until day 45 after order) ....you can attempt to contact Schlage Customer Service...but you will discover there is no such group evidently...check out Schlage's face book page.... with that said...These are AMAZING knobs! I have replaced (lots of) knobs in various real estate properties over the past few years. These are gorgeous, super easy to install, and have a great feel to them. I do recommend them! Out of 22 knobs, we had one that came with a broken piece inside the mechanism on a dummy knob. I have ended up just ordering another and not messing with trying to get a hold of Schlage after 30 minutes on hold and discovering that is just how their customer service rolls. 4Awesome product by Schlage! We have replaced all door knobs with this style, all were easily swapped out, with less than 5 minutes per door. Excellent build quality and product from Schlage!!!The distressed look is a little different than most, lets your house stand out a bit! Eventually will be matching the entry door once its replaced! 4Finish Colour Not as Expected I purchase this privacy knob along with other Schlage products as replacements for an assortment of door hardware in my newly purchased home. I wanted to replace the existing dark locks and knobs with brighter brass hardware that would match our decor. I knew the product finish was described as antique brass but the online photos made the product look more brass than antique. When I received the door knobs, they were much darker than what I was expecting. I am disappointed with the finish colour, I much prefer the colour as it appeared on the Amazon website. 3I couldn t be more happy with them We bought these handles for all the doors through your house 15 of them to be exact! I couldn t be more happy with them! They look exactly like the picture shown and are nice heavy goood quality door knobs and a great price too! 5it's best to tighten down the escutcheon during the least humid ... These were discontinued, but appear to be making a come back. Only issue is that the screws mount on to a flat - as opposed to tapered - escutcheon. This makes it just "that" much closer to the handle, so it's almost impossible to get the screws tight all the way. Either you strip it out and make sharp edges on the screw (to rub your hand on), or you scuff up the door handle. This is using all the right tools of course.I put on about 40 of these, and decided to take this approach after the first few: I screw the handles on and try to slightly strip the screws (instead of mucking up the handle), then I just file it down.Additionally, it's best to tighten down the escutcheon during the least humid period in your house. This is typically during the middle of winter. Doing this will really help in keeping the plate from moving as your doors swell and contract. 5These were discontinued, but appear to be making a ... I've had 3 unsolicited "I love those doorknobs!" comments- including from the lumberyard where we got the doors. I would never have expected anyone to comment, but the details really make them work.The square rose plate really makes them stand out, and gives our doors that extra bit of design we were looking for! 5
