GOOD INEXPENSIVE MEMORY STICKSI have been burned by SanDisk Cruzer drives in the past, some have a little partition that can't be removed and it's filled with some PC crapware. Fortunately these drives don't have that problem and they work great. I use them to give band members recordings of songs to learn, such a nice departure from making CD's.Love the price on these, band members rarely return USB sticks so low cost is much appreciated. I'll be ordering more if they're still available at this price.5Small, lightweight and cheapThese items came just as described...five USB drives and two lanyards. I'm not sure why they didn't just include five lanyards or none at all, but I don't plan on using them anyway, so no loss to me.The drives are very light and are made with plastic shells so they don't appear to be very durable if used heavily. I purchased these to have a few boot devices on hand for IT work at my job. Since they will be stored in a case at all times and only used when working on computers, I needed something cheap, small and lightweight. These fit the bill perfectly. As I mentioned, I wouldn't recommend these drives for heavy use and I probably wouldn't want to carry this in my pocket all day, everyday. It wouldn't take much to snap this drive in half. Functionally speaking, they work perfectly and I've had no issues reading or writing from/to them. I have included a photo to show just how small they are compared to a half dollar.5Hopefully for the last time.Hopefully I will not be needing anymore SanDisk Cruzer Blades. I have started using them like individual folders. They work so well, why not? I must have 18 or more for home use. Not only do I have all my personal laptop files on a single 32 GB, but I have one for music albums, pictures, music removed from albums (to play in the wife's car and on our home stereo. From past experience with older memory devices, I have multiple copies of most. I have been using SanDisk now for maybe 8 or 9 years. they have never failed me. My wife has her share for the same uses. We don't hesitate to share with kids and grandkids. They are all we buy and have been using since the very first 4, 6 or 8 GB way back thee. I believe they are the best buy for my money.5Inexpensive and somewhat usable set of USB 2.0 Flash DrivesSanDisk typically embodies a concept of excellence with their peripheral devices. While these drive performed exactly as they were listed -- capacity and speed -- I found the overall unusable. The plug component of the drive is made of plastic instead of the normally anticipated metal shank. This precludes easy insertion into a number of different computers. I tried my SurfacePro, my Dell desktop, etc. and I had significant difficulty inserting the drives. I purchased 4 of SanDisk Ultra CZ48 16GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Transfer Speeds Up To 100MB/s-SDCZ48-016G-UAM46 for approximately the same price and I found these to be an inexpensive and EXCELLENT implementation.2HIGH failure rate compared to other drivesI bought a 5pack from CWP online on August 19, 2019. It is now april 11, 2020. One drive has completely failed without any kindof warning, and of the 4 remaining, two frequently cause my windows 10 PC to prompt me to scan for errors and repair the drive.Other than that I love these. If another drive fails, I will let you know. If the remainder last for a long time, I'll also let you know. But so far, the failure rate out of 5 is extrordinarily high for such a short amount of time!1Mid sized (physically) decent flash drivesI bought the 8GB 5-pack so that I could have separate flash drives for bootable OS installers and drive recovery. These work acceptably for this purpose. They're made entirely of plastic (no metal to be seen anywhere on them) and are extremely light weight as a result of that. This makes them feel pretty cheap, but they do seem sturdy enough for around-the-house use. I definitely wouldn't want to attach these to a keychain to be carried around and I can just about guarantee that if you step on one, it's a gonner. I Still feel that these are a good deal for the price.4Had a 6.5 GB movie so needed the right size thumb drive - this little 8 GB fit the billI was happy to find these little drives at this value for a movie I needed to share with 5 people. The movie didn't need a lot of room but enough to function well on a variety of devices. I've loaded the Mp4 movie onto these and they are working well. Being on an iMac, I had to reformat the drives to receive even the mp4 content but that was easily done thru my Disk Utility. The drives are tiny. They do have a large hole at the end so I put a tag in for drive content identification. That's the main issue with drives is labeling. I hope the paper card labels on ribbons stay long enough for the viewer to see the movie. The USB end does not retract so it's out in the environment. A case top or some protection would be nice. I included a small plastic bag for protection as I distributed the media. But, the price, space, and physical size will make this a good solution for this job distribution. Will buy these drives again if I need more copies.5Dependable brand, adequate capacity, simple useThe SanDisk Cruzer Blade, especially in this 5-pack, is a more dependable alternative to no-name flash drives.Although these are USB2, that matters very little for the short transfer time to fill the modest 16GB capacity.SanDisk has been a great, reliable brand, and the Blade's mechanical simplicity suggests no mechanical failures in function due to retraction, lost caps, and so on.This seller tosses in a couple short lanyards as well, if you like that sort of thing... best used to lark's head around a cable of your keyboard so you can find it; don't use it to put on a key ring, the plastic case likely isn't strong enough.5SanDisk 16Gb thumb drives -- reliable little drives fairly pricedWith the reliability of SanDisk, these little 16Gb thumb drives are a must to have on hand. What do you do when you have some pictures and video of a party and you want to give all the guests their own copies? Copy them onto thumb drives, of course, and hand them out. But this can get pretty expensive in a hurry. One day I found myself giving away a pricey 128Gb thumb drive with only about 9Gb of files on it. That was when I realized I needed some cheap, low-capacity drives to have on hand. I tried two colorful and very cheap sets of 10 drives each, one 8Gb and the other 16Gb. They didn't all fail, but several did, and I lost data. Some didn't work at all. So I don't think I'll be trusting my data to those again any time soon. On the other hand, these little SanDisk drives aren't very pretty (standard black and red), but they work. I haven't had any problem with them up to now.On Amazon the very cheap 16Gb drives range in price from around $4.00-$2.50 when bought in packs of 10-100. The 16Gb SanDisk drives I bought cost about $5.50 each, but I think the difference in price is well worth it.5USB 2.0 only with poor transfer ratesLiked: packaging, size, lanyardDisliked: poor transfer rates, about 25% of the expected speed.I wanted 5 of them to use for audio books on CD, transfer the mpg3files to flashdisk and then use the DVD player to play several hoursof audio book content. The transfer rate is too slow for my nervous system. It would take 2 hours to copy 3 audio DVDs onto flash disk.Computer: Lenovo x220 laptop running Linux Mate Ubuntu. The copy was Samsung SSD ==> flashdisk.Positive review: The flash drives are excellent archives for 3-5 years. Yes, they are slow to transfer, but that is a non-issue for archives. Likely not useful as install disks for operating systems.2
