Customer Reviews

nice cable, good priceI was worried about the length and price vs quality. When I received it I was happy to find that it works perfectly and is constructed very well. I submitted a picture of it next to a cable I got with a Samsung monitor so you can see how it looks vs the average cable. It is pretty heavy. I use it to watch movies from my laptop to my TV at 1920x1080. Most everything I watch is filmed in SD though so I cannot truly say how it stands up to full HD quality source material. The weight of the cable makes me a little nervous about the strain it puts on my laptop connector since my laptop doesn't have the screw holes to secure it. I try to make sure to support it well to reduce strain. 5Full (1920 X 1080) Resolution On My HD TVI've tried a few of these cables with poor results...ghosting, color saturation, and just unclear picture quality. So, I decided to try another one (this one) with the ferrite shields. I received the pictured product from IDIGIMART INC and this one is working very nicely on my HD TV. I don't know if the ferrite shields are helping or the supplier (IDIGIMART INC) has a better quality product. Whatever the reason, I am happy with this cable. I am getting a full 1920 X 1080 resolution with very good color/picture quality to my 50" HD TV. Granted, this is not a HDMI cable so the picture quality is limited to VGA standards but, still, I am able to view HD content with very good results.Overall, I am very happy with this cable and the seller IDIGIMART. 4Defective cable makes text looks smudged/smeared.I bought this cable last year because of the cheap price and good reviews. Stupid me, didn't try to use it until recently. I hooked up my Dell laptop to an external Dell Monitor and immediately noticed on the external monitor (not laptop), that the text seemed blurry. It looked like someone took a finger and smeared wet ink to the right. I thought it was the monitor settings, driver, then finally thought the monitor was bad. But then decided to try another cable and the external monitor was fine. So it was the cable. Too late to return it and even though description said lifetime warranty, you have to pay to send it back. Cable was only like $5, not worth it. Just bought a new, shorter cable with a free return policy. 1Great cableI connected this cable between my macbook pro and my 47" 3-D HDTV. The picture looks great and there is no noticeable loss of any kind.I see that some folks have had some problems with the cable though. As someone who's done tech repair in a computer shop, I can tell you the reason for this as I've seen the problem many times. The problem is almost always with the pins in the cable. They can be loose, bent, or simply missing/broken. If the pins are bent, you can sometimes bend them back and the cable will work fine, but they can break easily. If they're loose, there's not much you can do, likewise if they're missing/broken. It would seem that some cables from the company are getting out that may have some issues, but overall, it appears as though most of their cables are good. If you get ghosting or flickering colors, just use the Amazon return process and get a new one free of charge. The chances of getting 2 bad cables in a row is pretty remote, and you really can't knock the price at all. If you get two bad cables, well, they're probably 2 good cables and I'd start looking at your system.Another potential problem with your video cable might be your video card. Sometimes, when you push the cable onto the video card, you lift up and unseat the video card. This is very common and happens all the time because not everyone screws down their video cards. Also, the connector on the video card may have come loose. But again, the cable works fine for me, and is freaking long as heck and a great price. The cable is a bit stiff, but hey, it's 50 feet long and works flawlessly, so I can't complain. 5Ever had a need to get wiredWhen I needed SVGA Monitor cables for multiple applications in my business I checked with a local computer and accessories store. The clerk in the store found the items I was looking for and we proceeded to the check out register. After seeing the price being rung up I asked to talk to the owner of the store. She said that was the price and she was sticking to it. She added if I did not like her prices then maybe I should do my shopping at amazon.com. I did just that and saved more than 55%. The RiteAV - SVGA Monitor Cables that I purchased from Amazon turned out to be a higher grade and available in varied lengths (I bought two 25' cables and one 50' cable). Theses cables have been subjected to very rugged and extreme temperature use. They have never failed. In addition I was able to take advantage of free shiping because my total order, with another item included, qualified for the free ahipping. Great, even more savings.RiteAV - SVGA Monitor Cable - 25 Ft. 5Not as pictured, and questionable qualityI wanted this cable to work, as I have ordered RiteAV products in the past. Although as a rule, RiteAV products are generally of cheap quality, they usually work. The product I received did not have connectors that looked like the picture above, instead the connectors were smaller, rounded connectors, and the rubberized coating on them wasn't even cut all the way (manufacturing scraps still present on the product). This cable also did not properly transmit a video signal and/or monitor settings to the display device. I tested with multiple connectors and devices. This cable is not high quality, does not appear to be shielded, and lacks the ability to transmit TV/LCD/Projector resolution information to the sending device. I tested by replacing this cable with another VGA cable, and everything worked fine. This cable was definitely defective. 2Not Fully WiredI bought this as a new monitor cable to connect my laptop to my Samsung monitor through my new desk's cable runs. (Previous desk didn't have cable runs so my old 5' cable worked. Now I need at least 12'.) It is a very nice cable that appears to be constructed well. When I connected the cable my laptop was unable to detect the type of monitor and was therefore stuck at 1280x720 and 'generic monitor.' Reconnected my old cable and it came up as Samsung and 1920x1080. I pulled out my multimeter and tested the continuity on both cables. The old one was connected through every pin. This cable only had about half. I'm guessing this was a cost-saving measure. When I contacted the seller to see if it was a mistake they simply gave me a refund and asked that I return the cable. I did not give this a 1 star review because the cable is very sturdy. If you only need the basic connections then it probably is OK. The seller responded with the refund immediately so while I do feel mislead, overall I am Ok with it. 2There are better options out there for the same price or less. This is a cheap cable and I'm talking only about the price. This cable was deliver on time. However when I started using it I notice that if you touch or move the cable a little it change the colors of the screen. Then after 2 days of using it my computer stopped detecting the TV, at the beginning I thought it was my setup so I tested it with an old cable from an old pc monitor that I have and it works like a charm when I plugged the old cable to the computer it recognized the TV right away. Then I kept trying but the new long cable didn't work any more. Then after that I had to purchase I new one but instead of VGA a purchase an AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable (9.8 Feet/3.0 Meters) this last one works perfect so far I have about 2 weeks using it. I could return it but it will cost me more than just purchase I new one. I'll suggest you to look for something else I noticed that you can find better choices for better prices. 1Long cable for the moneyI bought this cable to run VGA through the attic of our church to power an LCD TV used for the Worship team. The signal strength has been very good. It is connected to a four way splitter/amplifier. The only problem I have had is that the pins can get pushed back into the plug if you don't connect the cable very carefully. We have had to pull them back out with a needlenose pliers a time or two. If you are going to connect and reconnect this cable repeatably, I would spend a little more for a better cable. But, if you plan to hook this up and leave it, it is a great value. The cable is at least the 150' advertised. It is very heavy duty cable wise. the ends could have been a little better. 4Amazing valueI bought this cable to run from a computer to a projector. I figured, if it doesn't work, it's cheap. But, WOW. I can't tell any difference in image quality between this one and the standard 6 foot. Appears just as bright, also.Just to test it, until I need the full length next month, I've been using it with all but 10ft coiled up, with active ac extension cords coiled on top. This was to test its shielding, being so thin I was concerned it would 'ghost', that is, pick up interference from itself of power cords. Nope. Nothing. Perfect image.I would highly recommend this cable, this company, and I will be buying a second one, soon. 5
