insane value for the $$but i wished it came w/ better instruction. learn from my mistakes: initially i wired it up like it says, but after installing it to my new SONY headunit, when reversing, and therefore turning on the rear camera thru the tail light power, it would flicker, blink and eventually just blank out. very annoying! i'd have to select drive, and back to reverse and finish my parking job. the solution: DISCONNECT the black GROUND on the power cable going to the camera, and it'll work!otherwise, respectable resolution, saw hole drill bit works. make sure you account for the space the wires behind the camera takes up.4It's just perfect!!!Installed camera into the rear bumper, routing the wires through the bumper into the wheel well for the spare tire. Drilling a hole into the bumper and into the well required a 1/2" drill 14" long, I just happened to have one on hand. The rest of the wiring to the receiver is run under the side molding of the front and rear doors, at the bottom. The camera, installed without the bracket allows for a flush mount, nearly invisible unless you know where to look. Hook everything up and turn on the radio, put in reverse so you can see the rear camera and level it before pushing it in, it's hard to remove once it is mounted, so make sure it is level. This camera is very clear and shows the "guide lines" clearly. It works very well and I can recommend it with certainty that you will like the results!!Follow up: Had the camera in use for a while now, and I am still amazed at the performance of this small camera. They are absolutely clear, easy to see and the projected limit lines are very accurate, at the Red zone it is exactly two feet to the object behind your bumper. Great camera!!!5Read if you are installing on a Ram 1500Picture is pretty good for a cheap camera. Instructions are lacking.Installed on a 2015 RAM 1500. Some advice do not connect the ground wire going to the camera and if you are tapping into the reverse lights do not connect to the wire going to the tail lights otherwise you will get no picture and canbus errors with the turn signal on whatever side you connect to. Instead tap the reverse light wire on the 7 pin trailer connector. It is the center wire on the connector. Also the wires are very thin so soldering is probably the most secure way to connect the wire. A t tap would probably work but you have been warned.I drilled a hole in the left hand side of the tailgate handle then ran the wire under the truck on the driver side and entered the cab next to the parking brake cable and had enough wire to reach the head unit without an extension cable.4Works fantastic and video quality is good for the priceLooks to be the same 30$ Chinese clone as other brands but cheaper and performs just as well. Using with a Kenwood DDX395 on my Lexus GS400 it works great. Manual is meh but comments on other cameras can help a ton and few hints are needed. DEFAULT is tracking lines ON and normal orientation is UPSIDE DOWN. These can both be changed by snipping small wires on the camera harness. VERY VERY happy with what I got for the price. As a +1 it has survived multiple car washes.5Good camera for the price and better picture then the other lower priced camera that I ordered on AmazonFor the price, this is a pretty good backup camera that also has the option to remove the "backup lines" from the picture and also can "mirror" the image if using it as a front viewing camera. I needed a cheap backup camera to be used as an interior rear view mirror within my RV (to check on the kids) and ordered the "uxcell 1/4 inch CCD Flush Mount Backup Rear View Camera" but was not happy with that camera. I couldn't disable the backup lines from the image and the picture was grainy....the RAAYOO was a lot better.I did order 3 of these cameras for my RV setup but 1 of these cameras did have an issue which took me 30 mins to troubleshoot the issue (and of course it was only camera that I didn't bench test it before I installing it). The issue was from a loose or crimped internal wire in the camera wire itself since the camera can turn off/on when little pressure is applied on the fitting where the video and power pigtails connect to the actual camera lead. Other than that, I'm satisifed with these cameras for $16 bucks each. NOTE - The bore tool (hole saw bit) is VERY snug so you may want to open it up a bit before the final installation otherwise it will be a will be a bi*ch taking it out if you ever need to replace your camera.4Works well as long as you are competent with a soldering iron and wiring.Pretty much what I expected. I find most license plate mounted cameras look tacky. I soldered the hot wire and ground to my vehicles reverse light (that way it s only powered up when reversing). Setup was straight forward and installation on my truck took about 2 hours. Most of the time was spent running the cable. I routed the cable through the factory wire loom sheath for a clean professional look. Routing the cable through my trucks firewall was the most time consuming part of the install (as I expected) wiring to my car stereo was straight forward as well, plugged the camera into its respective port and soldered the remaining wire to the purple reverse wire on my head unit. The quality of the camera is pretty good initially for a $30 unit, parallel parking is less nerve racking in a large vehicle now as I can see exactly how much room I have. The wiring is pretty simple but as the wires are very thin (>20ga) I would highly recommend soldering them in place vs crimp or twist connectors. Perhaps best left to a professional if you do not feel confident with this aspect of the install. The so called instructions are laughable at best, written in broken engrish and contain only the most basic wiring schematic.4Works good, as advertised.I purchased this review camera to replace the aftermarket camera that came with the head unit I installed which had failed. This one fit perfectly into the old camera's mounting hole and came with extra long cable so i was able to install it without adding additional connectors as I did with the previous camera. Camera comes set up for mirror image and grid lines for use as a backup camera but can be modified to not have either grid lines or mirror image or both depending on application. The resolution is fine and night image is much better than the camera it replaced.5Clear and easy to install. - Hole saw includedThis is a fantastic little back-up camera. It s not the fanciest nor the most feature-laden, but for the price, it does exactly what you d expect it to do, and it does it flawlessly.I paired this camera with an aftermarket rearview mirror/monitor on an older model car that didn t come with a camera at all. Everything works and it should. Tapping into the reverse lights activates the camera when needed, and the resolution is clear on such a small screen. The instructions are simple and easy to follow, but there are a few things I want to add which might help. First of all, it s fantastic that the camera comes with the 18.5mm hole-saw, because let s face it, most people don t have one of those laying around.Anyway, just a couple of pointers . The camera cover unscrews so that you can use the one that is appropriate depending on your installation method (bracket or flush). My concern was that over time, the camera might loosen enough to make the image tilt to the side, so I suggest using a couple of drops of Loctite on the threads of the camera cover once you re making your final installation. Also, if you re going to mount it flush, there is no seal or gasket. There are a few options to seal the installation like silicone, and caulk, but I think the best one is probably butyl tape. It s forgiving, doesn t dry up immediately, it isn t messy, and if you ever need to remove it, that won t be a problem. And if you re going to use the bracket, I d suggest using both products one the sheet metal screws as well. Lock them in place, and seal the opening to prevent any water intrusion. I hope this helps.5Does the job, easy to installExcellent picture and easy to install. Bought for my F250 because it didn't have a back up camera and I desperately needed one to more easily hook up to my trailer. I figured I might as well get one for the front since the big hood an tall ride height create a large blind space directly in front of my truck. Both cameras work like a charm and give me exactly what I needed. I was worried that the guidance lines would be too narrow to be reliable for backing up but they're plenty wide enough even for my big truck. Highly recommend. Especially at this cheap price.5B&W and grainyI bought three of these cameras expecting to use them on the front back and interior of my truck. I was severely disappointed when the picture quality on the first one was grainy and only black and white. I then went ahead and tested all three and with the same results. I'd also bought a RAAYOO 5 in LCD display to go with them and it was displaying black and white on their own monitor, but the parking guides were in color. After testing all three cameras on three different monitors and getting the same black-and-white result I decided to verify that the RAAYOO monitor was working properly and hooked it up to my Memorex portable DVD player . It performed flawlessly so the problem is actually with the CAMERAS. I also took one of the cameras and cut the green and white wires to see if that would possibly be the problem but I still got a black and white picture. They're going back1
