Description

The PrimoChill Rigid Tube Silicone Bending Insert Solid Cord is used for bending PrimoChill Rigid Tubing (3/8in. ID). It allows the rigid tube to be heated and bent with less likelihood of the rigid tube collapsing and creating little cavities along the surface of the bent rigid tube. This insert cord is solid and is recommended for more complex bends. The solid cord is a little harder to remove vs a tubed version bending insert and cannot be stretched as much.

Installation

The bending insert is meant to have a tight fit. If it is loose, the rigid tube will collapse, kink, form air pockets and flat spots. The tighter the fit, the better the result. This process requires patience, but will become easier the more you practice.
The bending insert requires some stretching and lubricating to get it in the rigid tube.

Steps to success are below:
1. Stretch the bending insert. Remove any excess that isn't stretched.
2. Ream the rigid tube with an RFB for best results, (or a hand reamer if that's all you have). This will ensure a clean opening for easier insertion.
3. Lubricate by applying several drops of dish soap or olive oil on the bending insert itself and then place several more drops into the rigid tube.
4. Work the bending insert into the rigid tube. The more you use the insert, the easier this process will become.

Customer Reviews

Bad manufacturing. This tubing insert is not being made to fit Primo Chill tube. Its takes too much effort to insert into tube. it is suppose to fit, they are made by the same company. what is going on. I had to return item because no matter what I did it would not go in. Company needs to re- evaluate their manufacturing procedure. they use to have an insert with a hole in the middle, that work fine , but I cannot find it online. everyone is selling the solid insert. may have to start using different brand tubing as this company is loosing it. 1It's fitted like a glove in the EKWB tubes 3/8"ID (10/12mm)It's fitted like a glove in the EKWB tubes 3/8"ID (10/12mm). This allowed me to make perfect curves. Before this one, I had tried with others unsuccessfully. 5You will need to use some soap and water to get it through the tubes but its pretty easy.Worked as advertised. Fit my tubing. You will need to use some soap and water to get it through the tubes but its pretty easy. 5Frustrating bending cord that's slightly too bigI stretched and pulled... Stretch and pulled... Water and soap and everything and I couldn't get this to go in. Im using primochill tubes that has the ID 3/8in so this is suppose to fit and tight too I know but I just couldn't get it to work. I used the blue one I bought from Amazon which was, a bit too small but at least it went in. I even tried to heat with heating gun to stretch and that didn't work either 1The package arrived on time and contained the item I ...The package arrived on time and contained the item I ordered. While it was important to have a tight fit between the cord and the inner walls of the tube, I gave three stars because I found the solid cord difficult to use. I had followed the guidelines, by first stretching the cord and using some lubricant - I used a soapy solution. I also used a twisting motion when I felt the cord starting to bind. In fact, stretching each time after use seemed to make things easier, which allowed me to make the bends I needed.I stretched the cord between the jaws of a vise grip and a bench vise, to the point that I felt strong resistance to further stretching. I believed that, had I continued, I might have torn it in two. However, I never got the cord inserted more than about (175 mm) inside the tube, before it was bound by too much friction between itself and the walls of the tube.It was important, as I had discovered later, to chamfer or bevel the edges of the tube, otherwise there will be hell to pay. It might not seem obvious at first, but while inserting the cord it tended to expand a little as pressure was applied to force its insertion. What happened then was the cord was snared by the sharp edges of the tube, and imparted some cuts along the length of the cord. 3Fits perfectly/Steps to insert with ease of effortBoyfriend speaking here:This particular silicone insert fits PERFECTLY with PrimoChill PETG tubes, not with anything else unless tested (Tried Monsoon PETG, ID seems to be slightly smaller than PrimoChill)Please follow these steps (will add photos later) to be able to slide silicone insert in without elbow grease:1.) Make sure you use de-burring/reaming tool to shave ID edge to be able to have a nice fit for the insert.2.) Mix some soapy water inside any cup container. (Any hand soap (yellow/orange)Seems at best than dishwashing liquid) just experiment which is the best ratio for you depending on the soap (I used the brand: Dial, original gold for my application)3.) Use those plastic oral dispenser or syringe to suck up the liquid and squeeze a bit of the SOAP in the tube WHILE inserting the Silicone Insert.4.) Easily twist the insert Anti/Clock-wise and should insert easily unless you forgot to clean out the tubes with the residue from reaming/de-burring the inside that would end up damaging the insert.- Make sure you squeeze some soapy water after every couple of inches inside the PETG tube if you seem to struggle. The slant created by the de-burring/reaming should help slide the soap inside.. could help if you push against the silicone insert as well if you have any trouble sliding the insert.I d be glad to post a quick video as well if anybody needs a better clarification. Hope this helps anyone :) 5Tube bending made easy with the PrimoChill Silicone Bending InsertThe PrimoChill Bending insert makes bending your PC Water Loop easy by keeping the inside uniform and smooth. Works on all the hard tubes and easily comes back out with some pre inserted lube before bending. Can be reused many times, we have actually used this one on about 15 PC builds. Makes you custom water loop look and feel better with this great tool. 5Worked great with primochill tubingHave to use a soapy solution to get them going through the tube with greater ease. 5Correctly size tube and insert but it's too tight.I bought this item previously but I seem to have mixed results. This time it was too thick. I stretched and pulled and tried everything to get this to thin just enough and it never worked out. I had to use the older primochill I had cut. Same packages but the old one slid in with much ease and the new one refused to work. I won't give up on it but for the moment I can't use it 3Perfect for monsoon PETG rigid tubing of the same size.I used this for some extra long tubes I wanted to loop back and forth. The tubes I used were Monsoon PETG and once I stretched the insert out enough and used a little dish soap I could bend a huge line. (I still need practice haha) I'm incredibly happy with this for use with Monsoon. (I don't have experience with other manufacturers) 5
