After finding out that my key can open pretty much every other camper ever sold and their key ...After finding out that my key can open pretty much every other camper ever sold and their key can also open mine, I decided I wanted to make my camper a little more secure. I installed these on my camper and I feel a lot more comfortable leaving my camper alone at a campsite without having to worry as much about someone just walking up and using their own key to open up the storage doors on my camper. They fit perfectly in the door and feel really secure when locked. The only thing I'm not really sure I like is when the lock is unlocked, the key won't come out until it is locked again. Other than that I would highly recommend these locks, and I also recommend that everybody change their locks if they haven't already.4Worth the $$$I like the fact that there all keyed the same, I don't like that key wont remove upon unlocking. Install was straight forward, but I did have to modify (file) some of my door panels to fit as will as the "tang" on the lock itself so it would work properly. Over-all a good purchase for the price.4NOTE: The key can not be removed from the ...NOTE: The key can not be removed from the lock when in the "un-locked" position. This makes it impossible to unlock multiple baggage doors at the same time with a single key. I guess these are designed to be pull latches more than just locks.2If you have a travel trailer, these work greatFirst, if you own a travel trailer and have the standard keys for your extra storage compartments, you need to come to terms with the fact that most of us have keys to each others trailers... My keys fit my father in law's trailer and my in-bed toolbox for my truck... These are a quick upgrade to avoid things disappearing on you.I replaced all 3 of my locks in about 20 minutes, and I was being really slow. I only had one side give me issues, but was able to get around that. The locks have 2 metal tabs for different depths of locks. My KeyStone Cougar 5th Wheel used the shallow tabs.My only issue is that these types of keys can only be removed from the lock in the locked position. You can alter the keys to be able to remove them, but my wife pointed out that it would force us to remember to lock the compartments. I'd give them a 4.5 stars, if I could.Fast shipping, no issues mechanically and I have a spare in case something happens to one. That, and I haven't seen anyone have these types of locks on their trailers. Even my father in law noticed during our last trip - he had to ask to get into our basement instead of helping himself to tools.... MUHAHAHAHA4Great replacement for the standard CH751My travel trailer has three compartments, all using the common CH751 key. I popped the locks off and replaced them with these. Took about five minutes per lock. I don't know if this is also a common RV key , but it's at least not as common as the CH751, so my stuff is at least a little more secure. (CH751 is the most common RV key, and so anyone can easily access your "locked" compartments unless you rekey them or replace the locks.) Unfortunately, I didn't notice before I purchased these that you can't pull the key out while it's unlocked. However, as a work around, if I need to prop the compartment doors open, I just put the lock back in the lock position with the door open. It works. It also works as a reminder if I go to close the door and forget to lock it because the door won't close all the way.5So far, so good They work well and the only negative I can think of is you cannot remove the key unless the door is locked...so if you want to leave the door unlatched for easy access while camping, you have to also close the lock when open, meaning you cannot simply latch the door closed. But, hopefully a deterrent to thieves with the keyed locks being the same as millions of other RV cabinet locks out there. 5Works as advertised As an old head Airstreamer, I was amazed when we purchased a new "modern" travel trailer, and about fainted when I found out all the lower doors / hatches can be opened with a common key, by anyone. So, the first purchase for our new Jayco was a set of replacement locks. The Camlock pack arrived very quickly, and install time was about 5 minutes on the first lock, and 3 minutes each for the remaining 3. And now, an average joe with a common trailer key cannot get into the places we don't generally want them to have access to.- Quick install- Good quality, more than equal to the originals- More secure than original 5Good locks, but a pain on a camper. The locks appear to be well made, and include both straight and offset latches. The outside is chromed but the inside components are not and I suspect it will not be long before they start to rust -- but that seems to be true with all locks of this type.I have three complaints:1. You have to leave the key in when the lock is unlocked. I like to unlock my storage doors when camping, and only lock them back when leaving the camper for more than a few minutes. I can't do that unless I leave a key in every lock, and I have four locks and only two keys.2. Based on one of questions that the seller answered here, it sounds like every locked is keyed the same that this seller offers. That can't possibly be true, so I am hoping they will clarify that point.3. It would be nice if the locks came with washers/collars for both the inside and the outside. That would increase the area the lock has to tighten to the door and reduce compression on the door itself from trying to tighten the lock down during installation. My original locks had them but they were too worn to reuse....I will dig them up on Amazon or Ebay I guess.4Great for RV Storage Compartment SecurityNearly every RV has similar style gas cap key, limiting the security of outside storage compartments. Be sure to measure the thickness of your doors, as my 5/8" thick doors needed the 7/8" deep lockset. Only minor issue is when you want to open multiple compartments at the same time. The ace key remains trapped, as you are not able to unlock and remove the key in the un-latched position. This is not too big of a problem, if you open the compartment, then turn the latch back to lock with the door open and go to another compartment. Wish they had 4 keys, but most locksmith shops can cut another key for you.5These are the locks you have been looking forThese locks are great, My 10yr old motorhome locks were becoming difficult to open so I change them all . The cam-style key is much easier to insert and is less likely to get gummed up with time. I did not like that the key wont come out of the lock unless it is closed, so I filed off the little protector on the key and now I can get the key out with the lock open - problem solved.Changing the locks is a two minute job per lock.5The locks look nice, but take a picture of the back of ...The locks look nice, but take a picture of the back of the package Prime Products! Now I've done it for you, and I have locks I can't use. For the 5/8" cam-locks: you need a 3/4" cutout to put the lock in, the usable thread length is 1/2", the length from the back of lock face to the "locking-arm" is 5/8". In case that's unclear check the picture of the back of the package. These 5/8" cam locks were too short for my RV storage doors, I need 7/8" instead. I recommend removing your existing lock and measuring it to be sure you are ordering the correct size...hind sight is priceless.4Perfect fit, use drain plug gaskets for washer.Perfect fit on Forest River Toy Hauler. No issues with lose door in closed position, firm press against frame gasket. Locks don't have much of a lip, so I bought drain plug gaskets that are a perfect fit around lock, painted them, adds extra protection by not allowing lock to slip through hole when someone trying pry door open. With dual lock doors, take both keys with you because key does not come out in the open position. Just email company for a spare key in case you lose them.5
