Customer Reviews

Low price, works well, no complaintsGot this set of filters for my TAMRON SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di Lens (mounted on a Pentax K-x). Have used the UV and CPL filters thus far (have never used a FLD filter and dont suspect i will in the foreseeable future). I do not see any image quality issues and the filters fit fine on my lens. The small carrying case the filters come with is also of decent quality. For the price there is really nothing i can complain about. Would buy these again for other lens filter sizes. For a lens cap I am using:Fotodiox Inner pinch Lens Cap, Lens Cover with Cap Keeper, 67mm5Advertised as multi-coated -- NOT even single layer coated!Nice box, yet I noted that Polaroid was being used under license.Nice carrying case for the three filters.Nice that the circular polarizer filter, once attached, could be rotated to any orientation.Yet the web page for this purchased product states: "PRO-GRADE MC FILTERS; Polaroid Optic Filters use Pro grade Multi-Coated Glass Which Gives You Unparalleled Quality." Deceptive or false advertising? It is one or the other since both "Pro-Grade" and "Multi-Coated" are not mentioned anywhere on the box of the received Polaroid branded product. I should have known since the price was too dirt cheap.THE TRUTH: These licensed Polaroid brand name filters have no multi-layer coatings whatsoever. Moreover, these licensed brand name filters have no single-layer coatings whatsoever. In other words, these licensed Polaroid brand name filters ABSOLUTELY DO NOT HAVE ANY VISUAL SPECTRUM COATINGS WHATSOEVER! It took me all of 10 seconds to examine each of the three filters under a special light source in order to confirm this. Even if these filters do have "something" in the IR for CCD camera sensors, the utter failure to have any kind of coatings for the visual spectrum is inexcusable in terms of the above stated product advertising.MORE DETAILS: This is an inexpensive yet very useful filter set. I really do like the flat and padded carrying case. The filters are glass and the filter rings are machined aluminum. Yet I do wish that these filters had, at the very least, single layer MgF2 anti-reflection coatings which would improve light transmission and greatly reduce internal reflections of your camera's lens optics off of the optically flat glass surfaces of these filters. Single layer MgF2 coatings would greatly reduce any additional lens flair from bright light sources within the scene to only an additional 3%. Since these filters have no anti-reflection coatings, lens flare from bright light sources can increase up to 12% (6% per non-coated filter glass surface, times two surfaces). The upshot is that while these filters will perform just fine for the average photographer, professional photographers would spend more money for either coated or multi-coated filters.THE VERDICT: After testing these filters in real world conditions, I can say that I am satisfied with them for everyday use. As mentioned, I really do like the carrying case for the filters. I have decided to keep this filter set since it is a really good bang for the buck.3Happy deal.I usually buy nikon filters, and they are quite pricey, I lost my cam and had to buy a new NIKON 8100 , I thought to give these a try as their price is quite convincing. Results are really good, clean clear glass, unlike some brands with tiny bubbles, I usually stack them to save space, and keeping Uv filter always attached to my lens due to high humidity in our country, and placing lens cap on top of it after finishing never been a problem. My friend borrowed them for a try on her CANON cam and she is intending to buy. Many sizes according to her lenses diameters .Nice pouch to keep them secure, and there is place for extra cotton wipes and memory cards, and my brush pen.Nice deal5Polaroid Optics filtersOK now ! i am by no means a professional, and the professionals laugh at us hobbiests / beginners / dabblers, " Betcha " a $10,000.00 lens they were beginners too one time, SO now ! i would say these filters are very nice, they have worked for me wonderfully so far, no ghosting problems, built well, nice looking, the pouch is very nice, i have had no problems shooting anything, they came in on time-early, I will definately purchase these again, As long as the price is somewhat the same, For now at 69 years old and playing, i can save on the $100.00 models, and buy more lenses, Only problem, ? wish they made some for 80mm, Oh well off to play at " Plum Island--Massachusetts, with my filters, J.R. Massachusetts5Great low cost filters. It was a choice between no name filters or the Polaroid set. The reason why I didn't pick the no name is because some users reported the filters do not have threads at the front of the lens. This means you cannot put the lens cap on the filter. The Polaroid lenses do have threads and you can use the lens cap with them or even stack filters, if needed. The carrying pouch is very convenient and well made. It's able to accommodate a spare battery and SD cards.I'm VERY pleased with the polaroid set, which offers great value and quality.5Better than expected. Great for what you pay for. Don t have much experience with cameras, but the polarized lens works great for me. 5Good buy for the bucksThe order arrived promptly (even before estimate) and was well packed. I can't think of any use for the FLD piece but the kit wasless expensive than individual purchases of the other two. One reviewer said something about the small case being nice but I find the case too large for easy use.. The filters lay in a 2x2 array that takes a lot of real estate. I am now looking for stack caps or some of the stacking plastic cases in which filters used to come.3Good filters, no aberrationsHonestly way better than I thought they would be. Very decent, esp. for the price. No warping, no off color spots, polarization is constant.. Great. Threading can be a little rough, just be gentle and don't cross thread.5Good Filters, Great Value - Highly RecommendedThis set of Polaroid filters fit perfectly on the 30.5mm threads of my Canon VIXIA HF R200 Full HD Camcorder with Dual SDXC Card Slots and work better than expected for the very reasonable price ($1.99 with free shipping, at the time I ordered them). All of the filters are defect free and good quality.Includes:+ UV Filter; the main reason I bought this set, it protects the lens under normal conditions (my old filter got scratched by a tree limb, but the camera lens remained undamaged)+ Circular Polarizing Filter; has a ring that rotates to adjust for the angle of a light source to be blocked. This is great for reducing glare, blocking reflected light, and making pictures less washed out+ Fluorescent Filter; used to reduce the greenish "tinge" from fluorescent lighting, I don't use it but it is nice to have+ Filter Case; very good quality, with Velcro closures and a mesh pocket for each filter (plus an extra one), but a little larger than neededThis was a great value for a good quality set!Highly Recommended!CFH5great for the priceThese lenses do just fine, especially for the price. They seem to be constructed well and I had no issues threading them onto my canon 28-135mm USM lens. They also can all be added to the same lens at once, which is pretty cool. I would have to say that the highlight of this package is the CPL. It works very well. In fact i looked through it towards my monitor just now to test it. Started out bright and clear as day. Then I rotated the lens until the monitor's was blocked completely. All the dust I didn't even know was on my screen could be seen crystal clear but none of the light from the screen. The UV lens isn't as cool as the CPL, but it does its job. That job is to protect my expensive canon lens outdoors. Just as well constructed as the CPL. The coating on the lens does seem to filter out something, but it is very difficult to notice. I would like to take a moment to point out that UV light is beyond the visible spectrum of light, and if it is really filtering it I would most likely either need special circumstances to see it or special equipment to monitor it. I have neither of those at the moment. Also when using this lens pointed directly at a light source there is a slight greenish reflection that occurs between the lens and the filter. Still, just having a protective cap to put on my lens in most situations is worth the price, and after seeing images of other lenses being saved by low cost filters I would just recommend having one of these for that purpose alone.I have not yet had an opportunity to use the Fluorescent Filter. It could do what it claims but not without a great deal of white balancing. This has the same build quality as the other lenses so it's sturdy, but it's just sooo.. purple. As a result it just looks like it would make purple images. Yes I would imagine turning your images purple could eliminate greenish tinges created by fluorescent lights. Seems like a cool color filter to match the orange one that Polaroid made for warming. All that said I would have to say these three lenses are a good deal. You can get these three lenses and the pouch to hold them for a price less than buying the UV lens and CP lens separately.5camerabought a new camera so I needed filters for it and these filters are perfect, and they came with a paper that tells you what to use them for4
