Updating the audio In my S14My goal for this project was to keep my car as OE as possible while bringing the technology into the modern era. With this box being very compact my hope was to be able to hide it and not lose truck space. In the S14 the fuel take is being the back seat above the axle and because of that the truck is very small but deep and has a shelf built into it. This box as well as a compact an fit perfectly on that shelf allowing me to lose absolutely no truck space. And the sound quality is perfect. Now I will say I have the setting pretty low because I m looking for a more OE theater like sound quality vrs hard bass but with that said this system is bar none. Extremely satisfied!5Great SoundThis has been in my GMC Sierra now for about 4 months, it sounds great and it wasn't too expensive. It easily fits into the vehicle inconspicuously. I'll be buying another one for my Miata.5I have one hooked up to a 2 channel 760w Pioneer and it seems paired up pretty good with itImpressed with the sound this compact sub/box puts out. I have one hooked up to a 2 channel 760w Pioneer and it seems paired up pretty good with it. I wanted something smaller in my truck that didn't take up my backseat so I removed my bandpass box that had two Ten inch subs in it and installed this, it didn't quite fit under the back seat like i wanted it to but put it on the floor in the center between the front and back seat so there is still seating etc.Update, I removed this from my truck and put it in my car instead and after it a few months the sub started to make noise like the cone came apart inside and just rattled badly as of 2 weeks ago I took it out. Not very impressed that it only lasted months.2FAKE pioneerthis is not a real pioneer speaker, be careful I've bought lots of pioneer subs this one lasted like a month I had my my 1000 watt amp 2 channel turned up half way out even pushing the sub and out of no where its starts popping again I wasn't even pushing it and the volume was not up pulled kt apart and it's a phone speaker1Compact! Space saver!I am currently running two of these in my Honda Pilot. I purchased them to replace a 12" Audiopipe BD3 that was blocking my 3rd row seats from being used. The box was taking up way too much space. I was happy to see that I could put both of them facing down and stack some small things on top of them. Right now they are wired at 2ohms on an amp doing ~8-900w rms. I know thats a lot more than they are rated for, but I'm hoping they last as I didnt feel like buying a new amplifier just to run these. The overall sound surprised me a lot. They sound super clean and clear. The part that made me sad was the missing lows. They don't shake my car the way I'm used to and I kind of miss it. I don't like playing my music super loud, but I do like to be able to feel it and with these sitting 3 rows behind me its just not the same. I will play around with the tuning on my crossover and the positioning. Otherwise mostly a good buy.4Performs like a champ, just what I needed!I recently bought a used 2015 Smart Fortwo electric drive for errand running around the house. The factory speakers were laughable, so I replaced them with a pair of Sony 6.5" 3-ways that had good reviews. My wife, however, was not pleased with the bass response (which was only ever going to be so good from 6.5" full-range speakers mounted in the door). There's not a lot of room in a Smart Fortwo, and what little cargo space there is is precious. So, this was perfect! Mounted with the speaker firing down, this thing is sturdy enough to stack groceries on top of, so I really didn't have to trade any cargo space. I'm powering it with a Sound Storm SMCM200 200 Watt, 2 Ohm Stable, Class A/B, Monoblock, MOSFET Car Amplifier that I also got on Amazon. Installed the amp behind the passengers seat, ran the wires... and turned it on. It's just what the system was missing! Tight, steady bass that blends perfectly with the in-door Sony's. It's a small car, and this sub fills it with bass. Sturdy construction, ease of install, tremendous sound quality, and seamless blending with existing speakers makes this one a winner. Couldn't be more pleased.5Amazing for rock musicI love this subwoofer. I mainly listen to rock/metal and a little pop and it is perfect. I am a musician and I care about sound quality. That being said I also didn't have a huge budget. Here's why I love this subwoofer:The fact that it's cheap and in a shallow enclosure means you won't get a lot of sub-bass out of it. You know that noisy almost subsonic bass you hear in a lot of rap music? I feel like when you get sub-bass in rock, it drowns out the rest of the music. I also don't feel it really serves a purpose. It's lower than the bass guitar, so to me, it just sounds like noise. Yeah, it's cool to feel your chest vibrating, but that's a novelty and the fun of it wears off in about 5 minutes. After that you just have a headache. What this subwoofer does give you is a lot of upper to midrange bass. Basically, the best way to describe it is the bass guitar and kick drum are really going to come to life. It's insane how much I was missing out with my stock speaker system (Nissan Versa 4-door, standard 4-speaker setup). The kick hits hard, and the bass guitar can be heard and felt.It won't blow anyone away. It's not a competition setup. Nothing in my car is rattling. I have to keep my bass dial all the way up. All songs are EQ'd differently. Most songs (80%) sound great. The kick hits hard, etc. About 20% are EQ'd with less bass (still sounds great, just not as hard hitting). It's when I listen to these songs that I flirt with the idea of getting a 2nd sub. But if I did, I have a feeling I'd be constantly messing with the level dial. I like that right now I can leave it cranked. So if you listen to rock and want a more true sound (versus over the top novelty bass), this sub or something in this family will work great. I've had multiple people get in my car and say my sound system sounds amazing. Again, not because the bass blows them away, but because the music sounds the way it's supposed to. I would definitely recommend and would definitely buy again.Setup: I'm driving it with a Soundstream TN5.950D Tarantula Nano 950w Class D 5 Channel Amplifier. It's on the floor behind my driver seat. I replaced my stock door speakers with cheap(ish) aftermarket speakers. Nothing crazy.5I may buy two..Very, Very surprising speaker. As an ex audio enthusiast.. put it plainly, the annoying kid next to you in the sports car jamming out, but, not rattling your car.. As being older with a child and needing the space in the trunk it's awesome with the popular amp pairing that's listed on the page. It hits like what i remember a 12" in a bass-box used to. The combo is just enough hit, yet friendly on your battery. I have yet to notice a dimming light on a super hard hit and i listen to anything from rock to rap. Definitely worth the money if you're trying to be a minimalist or have a truck/family vehicle. Hell, I can barely see it in my trunk near the backseats. Also, if you're wondering, flat it's about 5-6" tall. very slim.5Finally. Fits a Ford F-150 SupercrewThis is my fourth shallow / slim subwoofer setup. I love it. I am listening to all the old jams again because they sound awesome with my new sub. It took me quite a while to find sub that fit under or behind my rear seats that sounded more than a factory sub would sound.I started with the Kicker 11HS8 8" 150W Hideaway. It was a good starting point. Just rounded out the system. Nothing boomy or punchy or impressive. Then I installed the Rockville RW10CA 10" 800 Watt Slim Low Profile Subwoofer. Good sound when it was under my passenger seat, but not loud enough when I put it in the rear cab. After that I installed a Rockville RWS12CA Slim 1200 Watt 12" Powered Subwoofer Too boomy. You feel the music in a very boomy way. The thing that REALLY bothered me was that it vibrated the entire inside of my truck. A good enclosure should hold some of that vibration in. When I ran my hand over the seams of the enclosure, you can easily feel air coming out. Now, this thing is awesome. The Pioneer TS-SWX2502 10 inch Shallow-Mount Pre-Loaded Enclosure: Got this with a $50 1200 watt Boss amp and it blew all three of the other options away. It is by far the best for me, my ear and my budget. It has very good deep bass, very punchy, completely hidden and doesn't destroy the inside of my truck.5Impressive deep bass and great sound quality in a pickupPurchased this sub along with this amp Rockford Fosgate R500X1D Prime 1-Channel Class D Amplifier and this wire kit KnuKonceptz KCA Complete 4 Gauge Amp Installation Kit.I already had installed this stereo a few years back Pioneer AVHX5700BHS Double-DIN DVD Receiver with 7-Inch Motorized Display, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, SiriusXM-Ready, HD Radio, Android Music Support, Pandora, and Dual Camera Inputs (Discontinued by Manufacturer)I added polyfill as one other reviewer mentioned and I'm really happy with this purchase. Its been years since I had a subwoofer in a vehicle and finally decided to go w/ something shallow mount and a decent amp. I'm very impressed with the output from just a 10 in such a small box. It's underneath passenger side rear seat in 2006 F150 FX4 SCREW. It was a little tight on the hump side in the middle, but it fits and sounds great.5
