Full Quality Product - Fit and Finish Is Top Notch I had a master bath remodel, the new fixture I chose did not come with any tilt capability to it and of course the water stream was pretty much parallel to the floor and straight back to the shower glass. A high end Moen fixture should not be this way, but the review is for this swivel / pivot ball adapter. Finally a product designed by someone who actually tested it, any flaws were obviously worked out in the final product relase as I can find none. It comes with a flow restricter / screen filter which is an excellent touch, more screen filter (brass, non-corroding...nice touch) than a flow restriction device I would say - it is a rubber gasket material that you can just pop out and not use, my shower wand has it's own filter and flow restriction so I opted not to use the included one, and then teflon tapped the one pivot end, and the shower wand end. This is no light weight plastic with a metal coating, it is all metal, it has two nuts on it, one for use in tightening to the output side, the other to adjust how tight you want the movement on the pivot ball to be, you can use just a little tension to allow for ease of adjustment or tighten more to lock it in place - you can use your hand on that nut, not wrench required.Adjustment angle added is right at 45 degrees, it might me nice to have a bit more, but geometry is what it is.Total time to assemble into my fixtures less than 3 minutes - it is just what I needed. I would recommend highly, would purchase again if needed. 5Great find! I have a small corner shower that I have never been able to use without getting scalded or frozen while trying to get the water temp just right and could not direct the flow of water onto me instead of onto the door of the shower stall. This gadget solved all my issues (with the addition of a shower head that also swivels), I can set the water flow anywhere I want, start the shower and adjust the water temp before I actually get in it without it coming out the open door. And I can also aim it at the roomiest place inside the stall. This combined with a simple shower head still cost less than any factory designed shower head that would never actually work in the tiny space I have. 5Good Quality I needed some additional swivel for my shower, it has an S arm to get the height right so I don't hit my head, and the showerhead has a built in swivel, but not quite enough. The swivel arrived in a brown box with wrapping paper. This unit is well made and nicely finished-much better than the picture. These are my suggested steps for installing the swivel:-For joints use WM Harvey 030005-144 Pipe Thread Stick. I've used this for years and never had a problem with leaks, whereas I don't really trust teflon tape. Rub the stick on the outside threads until they are full of the compound, then assemble.-If you loosen the 2 large nuts, and move the swivel, you can see that at the extreme angle appx 30 degrees the hole inside is partially blocked. So the water flow may be restricted. It depends on the water pressure and the showerhead used. You may be able to remove the shower head flow restrictor if it does cause a real problem. I have used the Forte Single-Function 1-Spray Katalyst Showerhead in Polished Chrome in several showers and it works well, reasonable price, has a swivel ball, and the restrictor is easy to remove if you have low water pressure.-Connect the upper end in the illustration to the shower arm (with pipe thread stick on the shower arm threads). Use an adjustable wrench on the flats to tighten the swivel onto the arm after hand threading them together. Hold the shower arm with one hand while tightening.-Connect the lower end of the swivel to the shower head (with pipe thread stick on the swivel outside threads) by hand . Use two adjustable wrenches to tighten the joint, one on the lower nut in the illustration to hold the swivel, and the other on the shower head connector flats to tighten.-Adjust the swivel angle, then tighten the swivel ball joint to lock it into position. Use 2 adjustable wrenches one on the lower nut in the illustration to hold the swivel, and one on the upper nut to tighten the joint. 5Works well I have a Moen shower head that barely swivels -- can't get the water in the right place. So I bought two swivels, KES ( B075W8N5TP ) and the Opella 205.995.110 ( B0038FVDM8 ). Both products swivel very well. The Opella 205.995.110 is nearly identical to the KES. The KES comes with a small roll of teflon tape. Both products have screens with the washer in the female side (KES has coarser mesh). Both have "short" threads on the male side, so I had to add a washer in the Moen shower head to get the proper seal. (I went to my local ACE hardware store to get the washers, Danco 80925 .) This is not necessary a short coming of the products, but more an indication of the issues that can come up when connecting products from different manufactures. If the threads were just slightly longer I would have given them 5 stars. I think this is the reason for the leak complaints. The ball joint (the two large nut looking items) were a little loose, so the shower head would not hold position when the water was off. I hand tightened it (no wrenches) and it held just fine -- no surprise here since minor plumbing does require tightening joints. I only needed one to position the shower head anywhere I want it. The other will be used in another bathroom -- I am keeping both! 4No leak super maneuverable well made fitting! Extremely well made solid fitting no leaking. I use it with the Aqua Elegante power shower head with great results. As seen in my pic collage, the two in line swivels made by combining this fitting with the built in swivel of the shower head make it very maneuverable, able to aim the spray in any direction. 5Filled the bill perfectly! We have a lovely shower - large enough to stand in easily with a built-in seat along the back side. The problem was that the shower head only moved just so far and the stream of water continually hit the seat, instead of the floor of the shower, which made shaving my legs almost impossible! The was just what I was looking for. It was simple to attach to the arm (with just a little adjusting to stop a small water leakage) and with the ball, the head could now be moved way down to keep the spray of water heading to the floor of the shower instead of the seat. Huge difference in distance. I am so glad that I found this in searching, then went to Amazon first to see if they had it and they did and we received it within just a few days. It has worked beautifully and solved our problem completely. It does exactly what I had expected from it and I am very pleased with the purchase. 5Quality product, perfect for shower heads that need more angle adjustments I purchased this item because my new shower head did not swivel enough and I couldn't change the angle as I needed to. This part did the trick. It is made of brass with a highly polished chrome finish. It fit perfect and looks good. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. This particular item appeared like it had more angle capacity that another brand that was offered on Amazon. I couldn't find this item locally. The seller, "Supreme Kitchen Bath" shipped it fast. No complaints, all good. 5Works Like A(n Expensive) Charm Update: 3.5 years later, the metal has held up very well with no leaks or loose-ness. Aside from the metal shine fading a little, it looks and works as good as new.Original: My shower pipe comes out of the wall at a straight 90-degree angle. The showerhead fixture I like (http://www.amazon.com/58467-Universal-Showering-Components-Two-In-One/dp/B006WKKFM0/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1414956591) doesn't pivot low enough on its own, so it ended up spraying a lot of the water over my head into the back wall of the shower. Hence, I went looking for a swivel/pivot extension so I can aim the showerhead lower.I'll be honest; the first time I saw this, I wonder how on earth any (small) piece of metal could possibly be worth $35. While I still haven't figured out why, I will say that this thing is solid, heavy, and can swivel about 45 degrees. It does not leak at all (note: I also did use Teflon tape on the end that screws into the shower pipe). It easily supports the 5 lbs. weight of my showerhead. So yeah, it was expensive, but it also works exactly like it's supposed to. 5Updated -Terrible product that leaks and cannot be used without it spraying water everywhere. I am updating my below review. I searched everywhere for a different shower swivel but could not find one that looked as nice as this one. I needed one and ordered a second swivel. I installed it and it sprayed all over just like the first one. I examined it closely and realized that the swivel did not come with a rubber washer in the fitting that attaches to the supply pipe. I installed a washer and used a significant amount of Teflon tape. That did it...no more leaks. Also, I only hand tightened the center section of the swivel. If you over tighten this connection the plastic washer and seat in the swivel compresses and will forever leak. Bottom line is this swivel is working well and not leaking. I am leaving my original review rating at one star because of all of the difficulty I had in making it work and the fact that I had to buy two swivels to make one work. For everyone else remember the following three things and you should be OK: 1) get a washer for the supply line connector, 2) do not over tighten the center section, and 3) use a liberal amount of Teflon tape on the fittings.Original review below:Terrible product, it leaks from every threaded connection, no matter how tight you twist the threads. I used Teflon tape and that did I not work. Bottom line I cannot use it and will have to throw this connector out. BTW it does look great when you are not using it. 1High quality all metal fixture that does the job This is a high quality all metal fixture that does the job (vs. the cheap plastic fixture that came with my new Moen shower head). I needed to get my shower head pointing downward after elevating with an S arm. Only reason for 4 stars is absence of an insert flat washer - which is needed (even with heavy-duty teflon tape, connection to shower arm leaked without washer). Finding the washer was not easy - not at Lowes, not at Home Hardware - but was able to use 3/4" washer in an Aerator insert package (available at both stores - $3.50).No pressure reduction through this fixture. Lots of pressure reduction through the Moen shower head though - still working on that.Added bonus is that you can tighten the swivel once you have shower head set at right direction. 4
