A bright idea!My old workshop magnifier light (fluorescent) finally failed beyond repair, so I ordered this magnifier light (LED) to replace it. It has several nice features: in addition to the main magnifier lens, it has an ~1" area of even higher magnification for tiny work. The flexible arms, instead of using coil springs (which often stretch and weaken over time) use torsion springs creating a smaller profile. Overall, it provides four levels of light, adjusts over a wide range, has a lens cover to prevent dust accumulation, and meets my needs very well. Recommended!5Pretty Good for What I NeededI was looking for a light for my workshop table. It is a wide table and I wanted the ability to have a magnifying lens. I was looking for something with as long a reach as I could get while still being a decent quality light. I had read some of the reviews already posted about this light and felt that it best met my needs compared to the other lights available (even though some had a longer reach). Now that I've had it for a few weeks I think I can properly comment on it. Overall, I like it. Some people didn't like the fact that the on/off button is on the bottom side. Personally, I don't find it that much of a problem. It protrudes from the casing a proper amount that there isn't an issue locating it and depressing it. Additionally, I do get airborne dust and dirt, so having the button on the bottom will probably help the switch last longer.Speaking of the dust and debris, I do like the fact that the magnifier has a cover. It is easy enough to raise and lower as needed.I wasn't sure what I was going to think of the 20 Diopter spot magnifier. I thought that it might obstruct my overall view of the 5 Diopter. I find that its placement is sufficient that I don't notice it until I want to use it. It is a nice extra feature that certainly has its uses. The four separate light levels are nice. Sometimes I use it when the room is dark and the highest level would be too much. The highest intensity is great for properly illuminating the project I'm working on.I like all the movement directions of the arm and especially that I can rotate the business end of the light. The only thing I am disappointed with is the springs of the middle hinge. There is a certain range of about 20 degrees that it won't stay put in. I find that it isn't in a range that I typically use it for so it isn't that much of a nuisance. I will chalk it up to you get what you pay for.Overall, for the price I think it is a good lamp and satisfies my needs.4Artist Swivel LampThe product arrived ahead of schedule. The product is exactly as described. The high side is, the lamp and magnifying glass are exactly what is needed for fine detail artwork. The less than glossy side is, the fixture tends to swing around freely in the base and won't stay in position. I would suggest a thumb screw for the base for a remedy. Otherwise, multiple light levels available by the switch make this a good choice for the money.Update. Two Days Later. I offer only a one star rating as there are two glaring concerns. The first is, the lamp fixture comes with a clamp - on holder.. The device allows the fixture to be positioned in a number of ways via the base. The swivel is useless as the lamp does not stay in a reasonable location. The second is, the multi-function switch used for changing between brightness levels is on the illumination side of the light head, not the top where a person would want it to be.. Save your time and energy and look for a different product.1This is a really great magnifying glass and light This is a really great magnifying glass and light. My favorite part of the magnifying lamp is 5 Diopter/20 Diopter combo magnifications. The ability to see near and far is great. It's easy to maneuver and also it can hold its position well. Can't recommend it more and I'll never craft without it again 5Very nice light, just the right size.Compares well with a larger, MUCH more expensive light from Staples. The Staples light had a nice quality, and very bright LEDs, but only 1 year warranty and (of course) no bifocal. And the larger 7" lens was much heavier and frequently unwieldy. I returned it in favor of this lamp.Generally good-quality build, everything fits together well. I'm not sure it really needs 4 levels of brightness, but brightest setting is more than adequate for general use as a desk lamp, and lowest setting could be suitable for dark environments. This lamp is virtually identical to a nominally-less-expensive version without the 20 diopter lens inset, and that vdrsion has many very-high ratings. The bifocal is just a glued-on secondary lens, not quite elegant as if it were cut into main lens, but it does the job, does it well, and who can complain with all these features in an $80 lamp with 3-yerar warranty? The lens can be rotated so that the bifocal is in just about any position you want. The dimmable LEDs put out a very clean "daylight" white with what appears to be excellent color renditioning. HIghly suitable for graphic arts.Lids tend to be a problem typically cheaply-made and breaking off, as they did on the older, smaller, inadequate lamp this one replaces. But the lid on this appears to be sturdily attached. There is a white version that looks nicer, but would require more cleaning and detailing (and thus wear-and-tear on its plastic parts). If initial quality is representative of this product in long-term, and if the 3-year warranty is worth anything, this is a very nice lamp and an excellent value.5Good lamp, needs workThe lamp and magnifier are great. The unit is well built. There is only one problem. The balance between the springs that raise the arm and the friction that controls this is not quite right. There is no evident way to adjust it. As received, the arm would not stay in position. It would raise all the way up by itself. I solved the problem by attaching a 6"x1 1/4" steel pipe nipple to the top of the arm as shown. Ugly but works fine - stays where I put it. Add an adjustable friction device at the arm hinge and you will have a great product. (There is an Allen screw there, but that does not seem to have any effect on the friction.)4Bright and adjustable as described.I really only ordered this one because it had same-day delivery and will probably not need the bifocal magnifier. Nonetheless, it serves the need I had (put that on a work table). I have tried the magnifier, but it works at a focal point (as we all know they do), so moving the parts around, you have to also move the lamp to be back on focus. The first thing I would say is the clamp is small and could not fit on the side of my table where I have a "face" so the only place it fits is on the back of the table, which is "against" the wall. The spring are pretty strong, so they stay in place, but if you move it, it springs on the wall, which is not desirable.I would say it's not a very smart idea to put the power and cycle switch (which is a single button) on the light side of the lamp and to get used to it for now, I have to look under to know where the button is and of course, have the light shining in my face. Also, I don't like the single button multi press to turn it off as it cycle through different intensity. All these is really because I didn't check precisely these details as they are all in the pictures, but found it inconvenient as I start using it.4Nice but not radio friendlyI do lots of small electronics work and wanted to upgrade my antique florescent magnifier. I found this NeatFi magnifier with LED lights which works fantastic! Bright LED lamp and a nice magnifier lens. Also a small dime sized 10x magnifier build in to boot! No more putting an eye loup on top of the magnifier for closer looks. The only down side is I'm also an amateur radio operator and while this lamp works great, it also emits TONS of RFI. Guess I go back shopping for something FCC compliant.2Great for estheticians!Love it! I m an esthetician and have always had the same style of mag light. I m not sure how to describe it other then it s the standard ones that they sell at shows and online. I ve never had a prob with it until it nearly blew up during a treatment! And also it was a bit heavy and sometimes nearly fell on a few clients I replaced it with this one (although different than I m used to) and I love it! It s so much lighter so I never have to worry about it possibly falling on a client, it s sleek and doesn t take up so much room and the magnification is better. Oh! And the dimming option is great, it s more light brightening. It starts at the normal light level and you can turn it up 4-5 more notches.Bottom line, I definitely recommend this, especially for Estheticians.5Great magnifying lampI have this set up in my workshop. Easily mounts on a table or workbench top. It has a long reach and is easy to position. Stays in place nicely. I like how the lamp has several levels of intensity. The magnifying lens is large and easy to adjust to focus. The little bifocal lens is handy to focus in on something very small. I find myself using the device frequently.I do some car restoration. The lens is very handy for working on dash gauges and carburetors and other small intricate parts.5Exactly what I neededThis is my second magnifying lamp; the first (in white) didn't have the little inset diopter but was otherwise very similar. This new one is in black, has the "Neatfi" logo on the light cover (not crazy about that, but not a big deal; a little acetone will take care of that), and the internal wiring is better hidden on the first joint.Otherwise, this is great for a workbench or other area as needed. The lamp/magnifier is easily adjusted, stays in place, and is a great magnification for my uses. One is on a bench for electronics reviews, adjustments, and repairs, the other is in an area for reading small type like on CD cases (remember them) or other small print. Lighting is very even; not sure all the settings are needed but it is handy to reduce glare from time to time. The "instant on" LED is nice; these replaced magnifiers with circular fluorescent bulbs and I don't miss the heat or startup time. All in all, I am very happy, can't think of a single flaw, and would buy again - and have! Highly recommended.5
