Absolutely the BEST accessory for mounting 2 cameras for those once in a lifetime shots! This little gem worked like a CHARM for 10 full days while swimming with Humpback Whales. I mounted 2 GoPros . . . and had one on non-stop video and the 2nd was set up for me to take pictures. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Never missed a single moment of activity.P.S. Heard horror stories of humans losing GoPros in the ocean due to a lack of diligence. I tethered both cameras to my stick. And the stick was tethered in 2 places to my wrist. Since this item is heavy duty plastic, when I jumped into the ocean from the boat . . . I placed my index finger on on the "bar" in between the cameras to give it extra stability (since I was jumping from a moving boat into a rolling ocean). Just common sense when using. In between action . . . rested the entire set up on a FLAT surface. For me . . . this item worked 1000% and then some. Could not have memorialized the fabulous experiences (due to 2 cameras mounted) without it. I actually left my set up (sans cameras) in Tonga for other people to use and I plan to buy another.5This one definitely is better than the one came with the original caseI bought this to replace the broken one of my GoPro HERO4 Silver camera's original GoPro Waterproof case. This one definitely is better than the one came with the original case. The original one lasted only two times I opened and closed the case. The plastic under the metal clip broke in to peices while I was trying to open. I was opening normally, not with much pressure or anything. This one I bought is really good. I have been using it now for almost a month and it is doing it's job. I opened and closed the case at least 15 times after I bought this and it is not broken. I am happy and recommend this to anyone who broke the original one.5Rubbish. Broke on first ride out. I think the plastic can't handle the weight of 2 go pros. What a waste of money and a piece of junk. 1Slightly CrookedMade with nice plastic. Solid construction not cheaply made. Plastic feels nice although mine came with a few scratches and dings. Lower thumbscrew is a tight fit trying to screw on. They should have made an extra long screw for this so it's not as difficult to screw on and off or just made the mounting a little longer down so theres plenty of room. Its slightly crooked. One camera will be straight while the other is crooked. Tried to straighten it out and snap it broke. Going to try another version. No one makes a metal version.3Functional only with customer repairs. Ridiculously poor quality control. At least it is a simple item. It's flawed but useful. I bought it to rig 2 SJ4000s together in a dash mount. Sadly Nechkitter didn't bother with simple quality control checks that should be brain dead obvious. One of the nut inserts simply was not threaded.I decided to pilfer one of the thread inserts from my SJCam mounts. Once I got the cameras mounted, there was a pronounced inward lean where both cameras tilted inward approximately 5 degrees. This was fixed by simply placing a small piece of foam between the cameras.Time will tell about the durabililty, but with the initial quality issues I am finding, my hopes are not high.3Meh it s just ok.Meh this is ok. I use this set up for ghost hunting as it attaches to my go pro stick. I also have attached my ir light to the side. The flimsy plastic tends to bow and it s really hard to tighten down both devices, so that they don t move. After a while I end up having to re adjust the thumb screws so that the camera doesn t fall limp. I d probably buy a different set up next time.2made of brittle plastic - broke immediatelyThis will probably work for you if you're not a serious cyclist, but if you plan to do any real riding and value the devices you'd like to hang from this then you should absolutely avoid it.I had a light and a GoPro mounted onto this for a long multi-day ride. Within the first few hours I went across some rough road and hit a tree root bump. The shock of the bump was enough to make this mount shatter into three pieces. Fortunately the light was tethered to a wire and did not hit the ground. The GoPro is sturdy enough that it took several good hits against the pavement but survived with only a few scratches. Although it was a fairly jarring bump there is no good excuse for this mount falling apart so easily.I'll know in the future to never, ever buy a plastic mount - only trust metal if you value your devices.1Too flimsy. Didn't even make it through half a metric century.Bought this in order to mount a GoPro Hero 8 and a front light underneath my Bar Fly bike computer mount during rides. Tried it out for the first time on a local metric century yesterday and it didn't even make it halfway. Some of the roads were on the rough side but I had no truly jarring impacts, just chattery type stuff a veteran road cyclist would be used to encountering anywhere. As I hit the 28 mile mark or so I suddenly had my CatEye Volt 700 (which isn't a big light mind you) fly off my bike and clatter down the road. At first I thought I'd screwed up and hadn't tightened the screw properly for the light's hanger but when I went back to retrieve it I realized that it fell off because the right half of the mount had split off completely. As soon as I got the chance I took my GoPro off the mount in case the other side decided to bail on me as well. Luckily my bike light just got some scratches but works perfectly fine still but I certainly can't recommend this mount for use in the situations action cameras are usually put in. I just ordered an aluminum version instead for future use.1Perfect fit for Hero 4 Silver Perfect fit, exact replacement. I wouldn't know it wasn't the original if I hadn't replaced it myself. Bought for Hero4 Silver. 5Perfect Fit, Price, and StyleWhen buying replacement parts for anything, I expect it to perform as good as the original. Or, be an improvement on the original. I had this item installed in a few seconds and my housing was back to working again without the Scotch Tape holding it closed. The appearance is just as good minus the official GoPro logo. But so far, so great. I ve read some reviews regarding the latch s failure during shock (dynamic) loading when mounted on a bicycle. However, I believe the design intent for the GoPro housing that this latch attaches to, is primarily for water resistance and not heavy dynamic loading. Other than that, I see no future problems and expect the normal wear and tear properties this part will produce.5while the dual mount idea is GREAT.. the materials in this i feel are ...while the dual mount idea is GREAT.. the materials in this i feel are subpar or just not engineered for even light ruggedness which i'm arguing is what GoPro is meant for! my use case was being attached to a snowboard and with just basic riding (no jumps or any park features). It managed to fall apart after 5 runs and i almost lost a Hero 5. I hiked back up the mountain(prob 1/3 mile and took 20 mins) from when i noticed one of my cams was missing.. luckily a person i had talked to on the first lift of the day saw it and met me all the way at the beginning of the run where it fell off.. phew! good people do exist! pay it forward! so if your going to be filming stationary this will be fine for you but anything with vibration or constant movement and you could and will be losing some expensive equipment.. anyone listening? I'd pay $30 for one made from aluminum!2Good, sturdy mount. Will probably last forever. This is a great mount. I use it for my GoPro Hero Sessions to record in 3D. It is sturdy and sets them apart at the perfect distance for 3D video. The only problem is that it is ever-so-slightly not perfectly flat, so I had to mess with it a little bit so the cameras would sit level. What I ended up doing was tilting the camera holder frames all the way back until they rested against the rail(?) on this mount. Then I just put the mount onto a camera handle. It ends up working fine. You can check out my 3D videos on YouTube. Iceman350 5This might be adequate for many applications, or can be made usable. This might be adequate for many applications. There are two different versions pictured in the ad. The actual product is shown first, but the last three pictures with cameras attached are different. This plastic is much softer than the polycarbonate used by GoPro, so it feels like it might break more easily, and it's likely to flex and droop a little bit. The manufacturing tolerances are also a bit off (see pics), so you cannot really tighten the fittings enough to properly hold a camera, mic, or light. I was able to add some strips of paper between the slots to make it work as a test. I'm sure I can add some tape later to make it more workable. What I really want is the other unit shown in the pictures, which appears far more structural, and looks like the correct type of plastic for actual field use. I'll make it work, but I will buy a better one when I find one. Consider this one workable for light duty, with a little tape to tweak the fittings.3
