1/4th the price of the Big Manufacturer? Uhmm, that's an easy callI just received this item today, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, but I've owned similar book-style covers before, including one by Mosiso, so I'm accustomed to them. I will also say upfront that I ordered this KNOWING it was too big for my Chromebook, but the only company that makes one for the 11.1" Chromebook charges literally FOUR TIMES as much, which was just not an option - I decided at 1/4th the price I could live with an extra inch or so of overlap. So having owned these before and now that I'm USING this one as I write, here are my Pros/Cons:PROS: This is very well constructed, much better than I actually had any right to expect given the price. The zippers look plenty sturdy, the cardboard that gives it the heft is not too much, not too little, in fact I'm THRILLED that it's a bit stiffer / thicker than some I've seen, because I can quit worrying now when I tuck my Chromebook in my book bag - it gives a nice added measure of protection. The inside felt fabric lining is VERY nice, again much higher quality than I had any reason to expect. Overall the "book" look of it is good (though see my one con on that below) - it definitely looks, when closed, like I'm carrying around an old book or ledger.CONS: It's too "new" looking! The photo online makes the reddish cover of the book look "vintage" and pre-worn, and when I opened up the box on this and slid it out of the package I initially wasn't sure I'd gotten the one I ordered. But it's right, it's just not as worn, dinged, weathered looking as I personally like and as the photo here on the listing makes it look. I'm sure it will GET that way quickly enough, banging around in a book bag, but it's pretty new looking right now.I can't really write this last thing as a "con" because, as I mentioned, I knew when I ordered this that it would be too big for my Chromebook. But the elastic stays on the top side, that attach to the screen itself, are pretty tight up there against the corners - there's really NO wiggle room if your laptop happens to be smaller than the case. A better design option might have been a band that stretches along the BOTTOM of the screen, that the screen then slides up into. Just a thought. As a fix, which I'd anticipated, I used a piece of velcro on the screen side to hold it to the case - an easy fix.Overall though, to be clear, this is a VERY nice cover. I always get TONS of compliments and "where'dyougetthat?" from people who see my other book style covers on various devices - it's always a conversation piece.4Really like itThis is really cute and my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011-not a retina screen) fits just right. I have a spec shell on it as well and the fit is pretty snug at the book spine, but the case is a little stiff because it's new and I think it will loosen up a bit. I would have preferred a little more room to put a layer of padding in but it probably doesn't need it as this cover then gets put into a bag and if I drop the bag, there is probably enough there to protect from damage. What I *really* like about this cover is it adds a little bit of protection from thieves - Sure, no one would think this was a book upon close examination, but if a thief is peeking through your windows or quickly scanning library tables for an easy grab, this is going to help them skip over me and go on to the next.5Good CaseThis is a good looking cover. It's sleek and tightly fits your laptop.Make sure to look at the versions that fit because my mac didn't have a lot of wiggle room.A detraction for the cover is that it has bands to hold in the top of the cover, but not the bottom. If you adjust your angle the bottom slips forward and then the top slips off. You can't really reverse the laptop around because the bands are tightly pressed to the bottom and won't fit over the bottom of your laptop.Details: It arrived on time, in good condition. I traveled internationally with the case and didn't have any scuff marks, peeling, or have any problems with the zipper. It does not fit in anything else with your laptop, not even a pen. It's purely for the computer. The TSA said I could put it as is through the scanner though I did slip it out.4Not really what I thought it was...So his is cool. It really does look like a book, and it s got the weight to match. It would take up space in your bag/purse. The zipper does get a little caught in the corners when I try to close it. My 13in Mac book pro doesn t fit as good as I thought it was going to. It s a little on the big side I have to push my laptop all the way back so there s a big gap in the bottom where the keyboard is. Which wouldn t be a problem if my laptop the top flap would actually stay secured on the top of my laptop. The little straps on top don t always stay on so I m constantly fixing it or putting it back on so it won t fall. To be honest it s a bit annoying to have to deal with every time I open the case to use my laptop. I don t want to have to be fixing it in class constantly so I think I may be returning and just buy a different hardcover case. I liked it, it s just a bit too big for fit my laptop comfortably.2No, it's not real leather......but it sure is sturdy, attractive, and lets you carry around your laptop without being obvious. The lining is soft, the elastic corners don't quite keep the cover on when you're using it and moving it around, but it doesn't matter to me.The fact that I can let it sit on the seat of my car with a bunch of other books with no one being the wiser works for me. It's also good protection in case I get clumsy and drop my precious.I have another one for my other, larger laptop, and I'd buy this again in a heartbeat if I needed another size. I have the red one. It looks like old leather. Nice.5Stylish and SturdyI really like this smart attractive case for carrying around my MacBook Air.It fits perfectly! And I appreciate the fact that it is discreet and provides padding and protection for my Mac. I also appreciate the fact that it disguises my MacBook as a regular book. I feel as if it that add a certain measure of security to it. So I usually just display it in my bookcase and feel less vulnerable than leaving a Mac lying around. It looks like one of those leather bound classic books, but it is PU Leather, which I think means it's not genuine leather. Well it looks good for now but I have only had it for one week.5Perfect fit for the Acer R13 ChromebookI took a chance and based on the case dimensions I ordered it to use with the Acer R13 Chromebook. I figured it would be a little big. However, to my surprise it fits like a glove, almost like this case was made for the R13. I know they keep saying it only fits the macbook, but that is not true, they could market this for the the R13 and sell a ton of them. The quality is good as well. It is not real leather but for my use it probably will do great. I am pretty tough on cases like these and would hate to mess up an expensive leather case but this is $20 or so and no heartache when it gets damaged. Zippers are solid and it seems to be well made. Great product for the Acer R135Fits a Bit Large, But Overall Worth the PriceI researched A LOT of book-shaped laptop cases before settling on this one. I really wanted the BookBook but couldn't justify spending so much, so I chose this one for the price and color. I figured if I hated it, it wouldn't be so bad since it is under $30. As another person mentioned, the fit is a bit large: the top/bottom sides are an inch larger than my laptop, and the right and left sides of the sleeve are about half an inch larger. Because of this, the elastic bands just barely cover the corners of the laptop, but it stays in place. The fit is the only reason I gave it a 4/5. Overall, I really like the look of the laptop, the soft cotton lining of the case, the zipper which definitely won't scratch my laptop, and of course the price. I'd say go for it!4ggI love this laptop case. Sometimes I walk around with it in my arms and friends stop me and ask me what book it is, and when I explain, they're immediately floored, saying it looks like I'm just carrying around an encyclopedia or something! It's great. I use it to house my 11.6 inch Chromebook using a cut out in the foam the case came with to keep the chromebook from sliding around it in, and it works well! Would recommend to anyone with a laptop to size or even smaller, gg.4The case is beautifully made both inside and outI've been using it for only 2 weeks and so far, there are no issues (knock on wood). The case is beautifully made both inside and out, for its price. The "leather" looks a bit dull, but I guess it was meant to look like an old book. The inside is well padded and very smooth. When I open up the top, the MacBook Air doesn't slip out of the two elastic straps at the top corners, as some reviewers experienced. It may slide down a bit but doesn't completely come off the two straps. I just push it up a little bit when it happens. There's a little bit of space between the zipper and the sides of the MBA so I don't think there's any danger of it being scratched. I also try to slightly pull the zipper away from the side of the laptop every time I open the case. So far, I'm satisfied with it. I chose this over the real leather one because this doesn't seem to have issues with the zipper and the real leather case has, based on its reviews.4
