Hard to get cable straight Good basic ethernet cable. What I didn't appreciate was that the cable kept it's coil even after pulling and untwisting trying to remove it. The cover is not really smooth and not that flexible. 3Good Quality Ethernet Cable I bought the 5ft version of this cable to connect my wifi router to the ethernet lines and it works great. I bought it in the basic black, which is unobtrusive and professional looking. The cable seems to be high quality and works with my router. If I were to buy it again, I would probably buy a longer length, but the cable definitely works. I didn't have any problems plugging it in or getting the router to work. 5Monoprice cables are the best bang for the buck! Don't overlook this product! I am an avid electronics geek. I have spent many years buying not only the newest gadgets/electronic hardware, but cables that support those products as well.I have learned a couple things over the years as far as what brands give you the best bang for the buck. Anyone that is a gadget geek like myself can tell you that Monoprice offers the best products for the buck. I would place Amazon Basics as second. When you buy a Monoprice product, you are getting quality at a cost much less than the competition. This 25-foot FLEXboot cable lives up to the Monoprice reputation.I needed a cable to go directly from my router into my laptop for maximum data speed. The length was perfect for being able to hide the cable behind furniture, yet have enough of it left to comfortably plug into my laptop while I was sitting on the couch. The cable is not overly thick, so it has a lot of flexibility to it. The connectors have a "hook" on them so it makes the connecting/disconnecting process so much simpler. It is a Cat6 rated cable, so I know I have the fastest data cable available (though Cat6 may not be necessary for everyone).I have quite a few different Monoprice cable products that I use in my home theater. All of them have stood the test of time. I have no doubt that this FLEXboot series cable will stand up to repeated use. Really, I can tell you confidently from experience, Monoprice makes damn good cables.Highly recommended! 5I prefer Monoprice to other manufacturers for all my cable needs I've never bought a cable from Monoprice I was unhappy with, and I've bought quite a few cables from them over the years. I recommend Cat6 for home use, since Cat6a would be of benefit only for very long cables not needed in most homes. All my cables are 50 feet or less. Cat6a is recommended for lengths longer than around 100-150 feet. Cat5a should be fine too, but Cat6 is a bit sturdier and will handle higher speeds, should that ever be needed in the future. I prefer more sturdy cabling whenever I have to pull it through the attic or around corners.I've had old Cat5 cables weaken and break over time because they are rather flimsy. Better to pay a bit more since the price difference for home use is only a few dollars for short cables (50' or less).I also like that ethernet cables from Monoprice come in a variety of colors. That makes it easier when connecting several devices to know in the future which one goes where. The rooms in my home that have AV equipment typically need three or four connections, so I just buy an inexpensive switch for each room. (They're around $10 now.) The wires from each switch can be different colors. One for the TV, others for the DVD player, TiVo, AppleTV or whatever. 5Much smaller The description says that this is 7ft long, which is what I need. But it's just barely 6', so it's totally unusable for me. I can't afford to waste money, so this was a major disappointment. Now I don't have the ethernet access that I need. 1A Reliable, Well-made, and Professional-looking Cable This is a reliable and durable cable that allows me to take full advantage of the internet speeds I am paying for. For the time being, I have the cable running directly from my router into my laptop. But in the future I will be using it to connect a mid-tower PC to the internet. What I like most about this particular ethernet cable is that it is (regardless of length and color option) a subdued and professional-looking cable. Too many other budget cable options are plastered all along their length with branding from the manufacturer, or have cheap-looking ends. This is exactly what I was looking for, and I feel that it will serve me well for years to come. 5Monoprice Lifer Monoprice makes the best cables hands down. Regardless of price or name, they blow everyone else away. I pay for 100mbps internet but am testing over 160mbps when I connected my devices via Ethernet with these cables. I exclusively use Monoprice cables for all of my tech applications, no exceptions. Awesome build quality and go beyond getting the job done. 5Good inexpensive 50 ft patch cord that met my needs Good 50 ft Cat6 cord that met my needs to temporary connections. Long enough to connect my modems ethernet jack to devices in my living room. No ethernet jacks or wired network in my home so I wanted a cable that was long enough to run from my modem to my living room devices for temporary connections. Worked great for connecting blu-ray player with ethernet only connection (no wifi) for updates and troubleshooting wifi issues. You'll want a better cable for permanent installs like one from Blue Jeans Cable or a wired network with cables behind the walls running to ethernet jack. But if you just need a long cable once in a while this is a great one to have around. 4Mangled pin connectors on one end I plugged this in and it didn't connect to the network. Replaced with another CAT6 cable and it did. Upon inspection, I saw that the plastic slots, on one plug, where the contacts are was mangled. I cut off the end and replaced with a new plug and the cable work fine now. Wasn't planning on this additional work. QA could be better. 1It's an ethernet cable and so far it works fine. I replaced an older Cat5 cable with this ... It's an ethernet cable and so far it works fine. I replaced an older Cat5 cable with this and my network is slightly quicker and more compact so it is doing it's job fine. 4
