Customer Reviews

Highly recommended, works great, great priceI bought this cable to connect the digital coax output of my Cambridge Audio cd player to the coax input of my integrated amp, which contains its own DAC. Compared to connecting the cd player using standard analog RCA cables, the sound quality is better with this monoprice coax cable, though the difference isn't HUGE as the Cambridge cd player has a pretty good DAC built in.The cable is well-made and I have very good experience with past Monoprice cables lasting years and years. The price is very, very reasonable. 5When we put it into our Music System the sound was terrible out of the Flat ScreenWe received a 26 inch Flat Screen TV from a friend to replace a 36 inch CRT model and analog to boot. When we put it into our Music System the sound was terrible out of the Flat Screen. The problem was with the very small speakers and they were on the rear facing the back wall of the Music System furniture. So I had to purchase aadapter to get the HTMI out of the TV and make it Analog for the Stereo Receiver. We play it as a Tape machine for TV audio. This cable was needed to connect the adapter to the TV. It works very well for us. We had no problems installing it and it is still working fine for us. 5Sturdy, for a great price. NO HYPE! Just quality.Perfect! Well made, great end on this thick cable. DON'T LET ANYONE SELL YOU A MORE EXPENSIVE CABLE! Remember it's transmitting a DIGITAL SIGNAL! Think of Sirius radio, it's digital, either you hear music or you don't. Same hear, if it's transmitting the signal it will be the SAME with this cable or a $1200. This is an unregulated industry. It's not illegal to lie about what these cables can do. Bottom line. If you buy a more expensive cable only expect a better build quality. It WILL NOT IMPROVE PICTURE QUALITY OR AUDIO QUALITY. after returning a few, this on fits the bill for me. Good sturdy quality. Reasonable price. 5Not good enough to part with my wired mouseI wanted to go wireless to help with getting rid of the unsightly cables on my desk. But unfortunately, and perhaps with any wireless mouse, there is a slight, but rather unacceptable delay in cursor movement from a still position. When you move the mouse from an "at rest" position it takes a small fraction of a second for the cursor to react. My wired mouse does not have this characteristic. This behavior causes me to overshoot my target position and is a bit frustrating. The mouse also feels a bit small. I have average-sized man hands and I felt this mouse was a bit small for me. 3High QualityI bought this for connecting my TV to my HiFi stereo receiver which are unfortunately on opposite sides of the living room. I was able to attach this to the baseboard to run it neatly behind furniture and around the room as discretely as possible.I've never hooked my TV up before so I can't say whether cables of different qualities make an audible difference, but I can say that this one makes my TV sound as good as my music CDs. I thought I'd use it only for movies, but it sounds so much better than the TV's speakers that I even us my receiver for watching the morning news! The cable feels very sturdy and insulated. While I'm careful with it, I'm not worried about it being damaged by furniture that might get pushed up against it because it is so well-coated. The ends look and feel solid, the fit is snug and secure. They look and feel much better than the ones I'd seen at the electronics store for much more money. 5Poor quality. Used it as a sub cablePurchased two. Poor quality. Used it as a sub cable. When it worked, it worked well. Provided good signal to my subs. Soldering on one was bad causing grounding issue which sent a signal that would have damaged my SVS sub, if it were for the sub having built-in signal limiter to prevent damage to the amp. Red led light on sub indicated a signal overload, replaced the cable, a overload light went away. Replaced cable, limiting light returned. RCA jacket on all the cables are very cheap one even pulls off from the RCA terminator when you try to disconnect the cable. 2Not sure if it was new or usedI was using basic RCA cord before this and after doing some research wanted to see if a higher quality cord was any different, in fact it is! I got way more bass response with this cord....BUT! This also came with an annoying hum. After some fiddling i noticed the connectors were loose on the end and just unscrewed which uncovered cracks in the plastic shielding. Also the sub would not auto power off with this cable, I assume due to the constant hum coming through it... returned and replaced with Mediabridge ULTRA Series Subwoofer Cable which gave me EVEN BETTER bass response, no hum, and working auto off. 1Monoprice RG6/U are an economical alternative - good build quality, and low capacitance.Monoprice RG6/U cables are great for those that want good quality and don't want to break the bank. What's nice about Monoprice cables is they have all the qualities of the high (over) priced cables. For example, these have a pure copper conductor, something which cables of much higher $$ boast. Also, these cables have a VERY low capacitance, meaning they are ideal for long runs without worrying about signal loss or high end roll off. I measure these and 19 pf / foot, which is right up there with the best of them. Also, these boast double braided shielding for EMI, RFI. The heavier gauge and build do mean a little less flexibility, but on the flip side it gives durability and reliability, and allows in wall if needed.I typically use RG6/U for subwoofer and Digital Coax connections, but these can be used anywhere you use a standard RCA type cable.Good cables. Thanks for reading. 4Great cable for a subwoofer!I got this cord for a long run to my subwoofer. This is the second cord I've used for this purpose. Just moved into a new home and left the first cord at the old place just because it was too much work to save 10 bucks. I didn't hesitate to order the exact same one as the first, as it served me quite well.I have this ran up through the attic in a 22 foot long room and it's perfect to have about 5 feet or more on either end to work with. My subwoofer is a Klipsch RW-12D, and this cable works perfectly. I hear no humming or distortion. There is no delay. There is no BS. It's clean and simple, and CHEAP! Don't bother with any of that gold-plated, gimmicky expensive crap, magnetically shielded in pure mystery. This works perfectly and I will never use anything else! 5Very satisfiedI used the Monoprice 25-foot digital coaxial audio cable to connect a coaxial output of a USB-to-coaxial audio adapter to the coaxial input on my amplifier. I was completely satisfied with the result. So that you may avoid my mistakes, if you are working in tight spaces, be careful not to overcome the natural resistance of this cable to bending. Bending the cable back on itself breaks the insulation. According to what I have read, over time this will cause the transmission to deteriorate. (When the insulation breaks, one can feel the "give" when the insulation breaks.) I broke the first cable I bought (exact same product) by trying to pull a loop in the cable through an opening in the back of a cabinet. When researching how serious the damage was, I also learned that, for a coax cable to transmit signals efficiently, there is a minimum recommended distance between the points at the beginning of the turn in a coax cable to the end of the turn for transmission to be effective. The distance is a multiple of the thickness of the cable. From my observation, not forcing it to bend, achieves the minimum recommended distance. 5
