Another "You Get What You Pay For" reviewMicro USB tip broke apart the second time I used it. The tip housing has cheap clips that broke. I have Gorilla Glued it back together, and put Gorilla Glue on the seams of the other tip (the USB end) for good measure.Gorilla Glue: 5 StarsThis Cable: 1 Star**Note: This review should only reflect on the product. Vendor service was very very good, though they should consider an alternate manufacture for this product. Quick shipping.1/9/12 Update - After gluing the tip back together, it doesn't work at all. My phone shows it's connected to a device for power, but after an overnight charge my phone LOST battery power, so it's not charging anything.Don't buy this. Complete junk.1Budget cable. This cable after a month of heavy daily use is starting to act strange and i think a loose wire is the issue. i use the phone while charging and i am aware of the myths and issues and how i am not supposed to do so but I do. So the cable had a tendency to bend 90 degrees down as i am holding the phone in landscape position and now at times i must fold back the cable towards the phone for charging to start or continue. The tip is soft and after use the metal micro USB connector tends to pull down requiring a rebend back into place. As it bends the teeth that clip to the device to prevent slip out or disconnection pull back into the connector allowing easy slip out.3Worked For 3 Months, Then No More ChargingI owned this unit for 3 months or less before I starting having trouble with it. I noticed that my phone wouldn't charge all the time. When I investigated the cause, the connector end towards the phone was very loose. The first thing I thought was my phone was messed up, but several other cables gave me no problems. I tried re-shaping it, which worked for awhile, but in the end, the cable is of very low quality, and I am forced to buy a new one: from a different brand.I can no longer return this cable, but maybe I can prevent someone else from buying this cable, and having problems with it.110 ft. Micro USB CordI use my phone for my GPS in my car when I am travelling or not sure how to get where I am going. I don't like having the cradle right in the middle of my windshield so I have it stuck to the upper left corner of the windshield to keep it out of the way where it doesn't interfere with my vision. It is still easy peek my eyes to the upper left to view the screen when needed, but not in the way and distracting. My problem was that the car adapter that I purchased to use with my phone on the go has a short curly cord that just was not working with where I have the cradle located. This cable gives me plenty of extra cord to work with that I can run it out of the way so that it doesn't get in the way while driving. It may be a little longer than I needed, but I'd rather have a little extra cord looped and tied up under the steering wheel than too short and in the way causing me trouble. This cord is fantastic!5You get MORE than you pay for... an excellent purchase! This product is excellent! I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I have tried many Micro USB cables and I have nothing but good things to say about this item. Perhaps those negative reviewers received a defective batch or didn't know how to use it properly. In any case, here's my experience with this product:Pros:(+) Extremely inexpensive compared with other cords that do the same thing.(+) Durable and long lasting (I purchased one about a year ago and it still works perfectly, showing no signs of wearing out so far).(+) Works with any device that has a Micro USB port such as Android, BlackBerry, and many others.(+) Dual purpose; it can be used both to charge your device, or to transfer data between your device and another (such as your computer).(+) Amazingly long! Its length is 10 feet (3 meters) which is very long, especially considering the price. The length makes it easy to conveniently use your device freely while still plugged in.Cons:(-) It's great length can be very helpful, but if it's not needed then there might be extra cord that gets bunched up and cluttered. However, this can be easily remedied by using a twisty tie or rubber band or whatever to keep it neatly coiled up (something that I recommend doing for all cables/cords/wires).Conclusion:Again, overall it's a great buy. I couldn't ask more from the product: it does its job without any problems, the durability is good and the length makes it very convenient to use. And due to my satisfaction with the product, and the fact that its price is also excellent, I am going to buy a few more since I can always use extras for keeping at my office/vacation home, or giving them as gifts to friends/family, etc.You won't be disappointed with this product and the price is right!5Charges my phone slow... too slowI don't understand, it claims to be USB 2.0. Is that different from high speed USB? I got this to charge my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, it does, but extremely slow. It's hooked up to the supplied Samsung charger (2.1a 5v) and when I use other cables it charges fast, but this one is slow. Maybe something with the pins, I don't know, I didn't really investigate it too much... I just went back to an older (faster) shorter cord.edit\addition:i looked at this plug, at the micro usb side, inside at the metal pins, and it's all corroded, blueish stained metal, ya know? so i assume that's why charges so slow, and when i say slow, i mean, maybe 20% in seven hours...tr;dr it sucks, don't buy it1basic microusb cableThis is a basic micro usb cable. It is durable and charges my phone just fine. The power output depends on the power brick you use. Worked just fine for my purposes. 5/55after a few months, it now takes all night to charge my phone 50%Save your money - this cable isn't worth it. It worked fine in the beginning, but now the plug fits loosely in my phone and it takes all night long and only charges my phone 50%. At first I thought something was wrong with my phone, but i tried this cable on another phone and get exact same results. Save your money and get a better cable. I think I'll replace it with a 6ft cable, since all the 10ft cables seem to be poor quality with charging issues.1Bad Quality, Bad Price... look someone else.Let's face it, a lot of people use this kind of cable to charge their mobile devices... especially most modern Android smartphones and tablets. They depend on these to make sure a device has enough power and charges as fast as possible. The device does that for a short amount of time, but once return/replacement grace periods (or warranties) expire, then you'll realise it'll be too late to really do something about the rather quick deterioration of quality. These types of cables, the Micro USB, seem to vary depending on the actual manufacturer. There are some that will last longer and work better and there are some that will charge slower or break faster. This one is one of those bad ones that stop working in less than half of a year. This was just used for charging a smartphone and a mobile projector from time to time, pumping 5V through the cable and charges even slower than the standard 3V while on a PC. Other cables can maintain a fast charge, but it looks like this one doesn't fit that standard. The worst part is that it comes with a real bad high price. For $1.50 or less, I can probably get this from a wholesale... even for one piece.I believe there are other sources for this... you'll just have to look for it.2Too thin to charge a phoneIt is okay for data, barely, but the wire is too thin/poor quality to supply current to charge a device. Using a charging current app on my phone (gives net current at the battery), I get the following results:HTC Wall charger:1) HTC Cable: 873 mA (~1A charger minus operating current, screen, apps, wifi, etc)2) This cable: 234 mA (1/2A lost in the cable! This is less than what USB charge provides with a good cable)USB on my PC:1) Garmin Cable: 289 mA (USB maxes at 500mA, so this is about right compared to HTC cable above)2) This Cable: 101 mA (Again less than half, I have the screen at 10% brightness, if I bump it up to 50%, not running any apps, the phone gives a warning that it is discharging!)I bought 3 of these cables to make it easier for various family members to charge their phones, as most of the cables that come with wall chargers are only 3-4 feet. I made a big mistake with these, at least they didn't cost much. Don't make the same mistake.1
