Falling apart quickly. Disappointing. This newest pair were a disappointment as they've been coming apart after a short time of using them. This is my second pair of mechanix gloves. The first pair lasted forever and I love them. 1No complaints here!!! First thing about this product, it's at least $7 less expensive on Amazon than any automotive or hardware store. While I think that paying a hefty $32-$40 for a pair of gloves to save my hands from knuckle scrapes is a worthy investment, saving some cash is always a smart purchase decision. These gloves fit perfectly and are by far the most comfortable protection I've ever donned on my hands. The fingers give great grip when working with smaller screws/nuts/bolts and the glove fabric is thin enough to still allow your hands to fit in cramped spaces. I've had other Mechanix gloves before but these ones are by far the best. Spend the extra $8, your hands will love you for it. 5Beware of counterfeit products !!! Old pair awesome, new pair fake. For bad reviews those folks may have gotten fakes. Beware of Fake Gloves. I purchased a pair of these in 2012, light use, but fit and feel were awesome. Bought another pair in 2016. Same size, brand, model. Fit was too small, material different. Started searching around and realized that I got a pair of counterfeit ones. Noticeable differences I see are Velcro on latest pair is large hooks, old pair small hooks. Leather material on old, tough and rough, new fake pair, soft decorative. Old pair, no color on label, new pair yellow label. 5they didnt lie about the m-pact aame they can take a beating and ask for more bought this last year and they have served me well in a truck shop working on logging equipment and the trucks, the rubber padding have saved my hands plenty of times from fracturing my knuckles when my hand would slip of a wet or oily wrench and id punch the frame of the truck or motor. they are showing there wear and heavy use but they still ask to be abused day after day and they still serve me well in this field. when its time to get another set I will turn to this company again and look at what new and improve items are out to try. 5Look somewhere else if possible So after having these for a couple months and very very light use about worn 5 times. The stitching is already coming undone from where the wrist straps are. The loop that is also located on the wrist one of them has already come off had to use 550 cord to create new a loop. Worst pair of gloves I've had including issued ones. I wouldn't recommend these. I may have just had a bad pair I'm not sure either way I'm not happy with my experience with these gloves.. 2Really liking these gloves so far I spent way too much time looking at all the gloves at my local Cycle Gear and another local motorcycle shop and never really found gloves that were just right - and they all were pretty expensive for what they are. I finally looked on amazon and found these with tons of great reviews. I really wanted some gloves that would give me back some dexterity without sacrificing protection in the case of a slide. They have a great feel and I love the cord pulls on the inside of the wrist that make them easy to put on quickly. The rubber finger guards with segmented knuckles are neat and I like the way they provide protection without causing too much interference to movement. I've considered buying a 2nd pair to use while working on my car. If these ever wear out I'll buy them again and again. 5Mechanix Knows How To Make Gloves I work in law enforcement, handle a patrol/narcotics detection K-9, teach firearms, and work/train with our SWAT team regularly. That being said, after many years and dozens of pairs of gloves, I think these may be the best I've found yet.Gloveless isn't an option for me. The broken bones, rub-burnt palms, scars, and bruised knuckles that come with my work just plain suck and I learned a long time ago that gloves are a must. I've bought the cheap ones and the way overpriced ones. I've done Kevlar, nomex, leather, hard-knuckle, and everything in between. Mechanix brand has consistently been my preferred brand and they finally struck the perfect balance of protection, dexterity, and comfort with these. They're thick and sturdy enough in the palm to protect yet still thin and tacky enough to grasp things. The rubberized knuckle protection is thick enough to protect well against impacts but is still flexible and thin enough that I can reach into my pockets or other tight spots without removing the glove. The index finger isn't as tight as I have seen on shooting-specific gloves, but it's still fine for trigger manipulation.***UPDATE April 2014***After about two months of daily wear, the hook and loop wrist closure is completely shot on both gloves. Luckily the gloves still fit well enough without it that I may just cut the little tab off the wrist. They should have used a more substantial Velcro-type hook and loop or just put some elastic in the wrist. Otherwise the gloves are still solid, even without the wrist being fastened. I am taking a star away though. 4Durably made and protective! Originally I didn't receive the size I thought I'd order, but even for slightly bigger in size - the durability and protection was exactly what I was looking for in a work glove. So much that I contacted the seller to confirm if they would have a size more to my size for a better fit. I was very pleased to find they did and put in for an exchange for a correct fit. Because I originally received a size slightly bigger than I require, the fingertip spacing was a bit big, however that did not make these gloves unusable if for some reason a smaller size was unavailable. They fit well enough that I knew these gloves would allow me to use as daily working gloves which would both allow for protection and mobility. 5The glove itself is good but when all the fingers are smooth and slippery ... Mechanix must have changed the design vs what I had before. The finger grips on this model does not have the texture to grip a gun very well. The glove itself is good but when all the fingers are smooth and slippery like the basic glove, I don't like it. The version I purchased 3 years ago that is just wearing down grips better at the tips. The texture is NOT the same as pictured.Compare the tips on the Tactical version and you will see this new design has strips of grip instead of the entire tip having grip. I believe the change is due to wear but the grippy tips are so much better even if they do not last as long. 3Awesome gloves for price and the work. These gloves are very nice and comfortable, not the most breathable, but easy to work in and very durable. Working on cars, handling machinery, moving equipment/furniture, or just used to get a grip on things, these are really nice for all the above and I still continue to use them daily since last halloween. No tears, unnoticeable burn marks and these gloves are still well put together. I would recommend these to anyone who does manual labor if they don't mind their hands not breathing very well, but really I think hand protection is the point here. 5
