Jessica for POTUSUpdate:After my concerns I stated in my original review. I was contacted by Jessica from the McDuory Team. She did an amazing job going above and beyond for me the consumer. She contacted me on several occasions trouble shooting my antenna to get to the root of the problem. After it was determined I had a faulty antenna she immediately sent me out a new one and continued to follow-up with me until it was installed, working properly and I was a happy satisfied customer. I have shopped Amazon for over 7 years but recently have questioned severing our relationship due to the increasing cheap quality of products they are now beginning to sale and not stand behind. Thanks to Jessica concern for me I'm now a customer for life of McDuory by Bagval and shop directly with them cutting out the middle man (Amazon) until they can get a better handle on product they are selling and endorsing. Thanks again Jessica for respecting me as a VALUED customer and yes I HIGHLY recommend your product.5Easier than it looks ...The antenna came in a box with dozens of pieces. It turns out they all snapped together and were finger tightened, taking very little time for assembly. The mounting rod is held on with four screws, which we bolted into our deck. The hardest part was running the cable into the house as we had to drill a hole through the wall. I did have to go to Lowes and get some fasteners to hold the cable to the beams.Once installed, it has worked like a charm. We get 35 channels. The rotary control is a bit clunky and could be better, but it did help us find the right spot for reception. The only time we lost the picture was during a very heavy storm, but the DirecTV dish (we are running both for the first month) also lost programming.5Absolutely excellent customer service.Purchased this antenna in October 2018. Installed it about a month later. Instantly got 67 channels! Everything went great for a little over a year. I had gutters installed on my house, and they pinched the cable. Ever since then the yellow light is on, and the reception is worse. So I ran a new cable but same problem. So I emailed McDuory about my issue and got an immediate response from Jessica. After some trouble shooting, the issue was identified. They immediately sent out a replacement, even though I was well past the 1 year warranty! Also, the reason it failed had nothing to do with them. Couldn t be happier with this antenna, and their customer service.5Great product !It works as described. I live up in the mountains and I was not sure if it would work. We set it up with the directions which are pretty easy to follow. There is also a YouTube video to help you if you need it. We tested it indoors first..set it up to the TV and scanned the channels. Then the channels automatically come on. I knew that I was within the 150 mile range of my local TV stations so I was really surprised to receive channels I did not even get with my basic cable package .We then set it out side on the roof and picked up even more channels. I only have it set up to 1 TV.I will re-rate it when we set it up to our other TV. Well worth the price to cut the cord. Very happy with this product. Edit- have it set up to 2 TVs . 40 channels. Not bad. Canceled cable saving me money.. great picture. easy to install. Great service.Would purchase again. Have told my friends and family about this product. One has already purchased it and installed it also. Very happy with it. Add-em to my review. This works great. I get channels that are just about the 150 miles away that is stated in the ad. I recently lost my remote and the company got back to me very quickly and offered me a remedy for my dilma even though it has been well over a year since my purchase. I highly recommend this product.I have had this for over 2 years and when I had a problem with a part on the antenna the company went above and beyond to help me with my problem. I highly recommend this antenna. It delivers what it says it does.5Customer Service earns the 5 starsLiving outside the Denver area closer to the foothills, TV reception can be frustrating on some channels. I bought this unit to replace an indoor model. The indoor unit was amplified and did an OK job for channels that were already strong but there was a lot of pixelated or picture break up on many of the channels and it was frustratingly intermittent. Now to the McDury outdoor model that has a 360 deg rotation via remote control. The first problem I encountered was the control box, that delayed installation until a replacement was sent by customer service. The pictures show before and after installation. Although at my age setting up and climbing ladders at that height should have been left to my younger neighbor who volunteered but conveniently disappeared when he saw how high the antenna was going to be installed. :-)using a level I mounted the bracket and pole with the 4 large wood screws provided, drilled a hole through the wall and ran the cable into the house right near a power source and TV. I had PLENTY of cable to make leftover. I used a tie wrap to keep it intact. This is a special cable that has POWER running through it to control the rotation motor so making it shorter is not an option nor recommended. Now ready to try it out I found the second issue with the control box, you must be able to aim the tiny remote right at it, and the super bright (too bright) led makes a good target to aim at.I intentionally mounted the antenna outside of a window 1: incase the control box failed again, and 2: so that I can see the rotation. When the rotation starts it moves quickly making it easy to pass the sweet spot for a particular channel but does not stop again until I let go of the button a press it again, which also changes the direction and past the sweet spot again. I am sure with practice and by watching the rotation it will get easier, or maybe there is still something not quite right with the controller. So picture quality? Much stronger signals across the available channels. BUT the intermittent picture and sound breakup is still popping up. If you record your shows as I do you may not notice the signal issue until playback. During live playback is where the remote rotation really makes a difference as you can make the adjustments in the antenna direction and enjoy an HD and FREE TV signal.I may need to get a signal filter to help reduce the interference, they are available on Amazon but some of them cost more than this very fair priced antennae system.DO SET UP AND TEST YOUR ANTENNA INSIDE FIRST as instructed, that is how I discovered the controller malfunction BEFORE installing on the house. The extra effort was rewarded with a quick response from tech support.5Good purchase. My husband bought a 60" flat television and until now he had treated several antennas: rabbit ears, flat, circular, square on the wall ... name it he had already treated. We live in Fort Worth, and every time it's rains or it's very windy the signal is pixelated or frozen and it was a war with the signal. We ended up watching a dvd, or turning off the TV. In the last raining day my husband lost his patience. I had already seen the antenna and commented to him that it had good reviews. He decided to buy it, and since we did not have the facility to put it out, he decided to put it on the highest point of the house in the attic. The tube was very long for the space and made it difficult to rotate. This was solved using a shorter tube. At the time that he connect the antenna and the TV was reset, it was tremendous change. The TV looks pretty beautiful and the signal it's very strong. The colors are very bright and the best thing is that the signal is no longer cut or pix. For the price it was a very good purchase. Sadly for me, soon is the football season. Ha!!5Works great as an antenna - but rotation function is pretty sillyOverall, this is a really good antenna. I didn't even need the instructions to assemble it - lots of parts but it was very intuitive to snap it all together. I already had a "roof tower" that I use for other sorts of antennas on my garage (man cave) room so within an hour of receiving the box I had the antenna on the roof and in the air. The included 40' cable was EXACTLY the right length out of the box.I really like this antenna for how well it receives - better than my previous one.But the silly part is the rotator - it's almost useless unless you have someone outside on a cell phone telling you when it's aimed about right. There is NO indicator on the control box for where it's pointing, and no actual directional control. It just goes one direction until 360 degrees, then it turns around and goes the other way. And it turns pretty FAST so you really need someone outside on a phone telling you when to let go of the button ("stop").I realize it's a pretty cheap setup so in that light, I give it a full 5 stars - just know the rotation function is just not very useful if you're trying to point a specific direction to then scan for channels. Were the price higher (like over $100) I'd vote it down a star or three. But at the price it is, and given how well it pulls in signals, I'm happy with it.5Is support genuine or a delaying tap dance.Got the system and did a dry run in the house before mounting. Ant moved one time roughly 90 degrees and died. Contacted customer service and got a response from well known Jessica. Nice and helpful, said she would dispatch a new motor straightaway. Asked about buying a 40 ft cable extension as well; she checked with the manager and he said will include for free for my trouble. Yeah, were good to go. But weeks go by no parts. A few days ago I sent Jessica another email asking for status;she said both items out of stock and she was sorry for not letting me know. Problem is that can't return after Wednesday so sending all back as they apparently have lots of new units to send. Sorry Jessica, but ant turns into a pumpkin this week.26 Sept. 18: Update:Surprised to receive a complete new antenna system from Jessica. Apparently, they decided to just send a new complete unit to replace the bad one vice waiting for a lone drive motor. Turns out, Jessica not only gave me the additional 40 ft of cable I tried to buy, but the whole unit to boot. Hopefully this one is good to go. When's the last time any of us can remember service like that?! When I was a young man probably. Thanks Jessica and McDuory for going above and beyond.Ran5Great AntennaOur family is using indoor antenna which is size small but it can receive numbers of channels. However, having more channels to watch is still a need for us. So outdoor antenna would be a good choice to take. There are plenty of outdoor antenna availabe in AMAZON and most of them are quite similar. We just choose what we want: with pole and a bit lower price compared with others. We are a bit afraid that it does not work well at first(because its a bit lower price). BUT! It is awesome! Far more better than my expectation!!We receive the pacakge before weekend. The package is with a transparent film protected and all accessories are inside the color packaging box. It has all I need like the J-shape pole, wireless remote controller and also a long cable. Instruction paper is quite clear and it does not take a very long time to assemble the antenna. We put the antenna in our garden first to see whether it really works. I scanned the channels and it found 48 and most of them are HD (quite impressed me). I tested the wireless remote controller and the rotator worked too. (minded: you need to press the red button on the wireless remotor for a longer time untill the antenna turns to the correct direction, and the wireless remotor need to be towarded to power box but not the antenna)Later on, We mounted the antenna with pole to our roof and adjuested the direction again, and finally it got 56 channles. So now we can watch more local news and others without paying monthy fee.We are very happy with our choice.5There are many good websites that are available for that researchI purchased this antenna in the hopes of learning a little bit about how antenna's worked. I never thought it would be anything more than a weekend experiment. The unit arrived in a much smaller package than I had anticipated. Everything was packaged professionally and everything in the box was well labeled. The assembly of the antenna literally took no more than 3 minutes - and I had never see one before in my file. In fact it was so intuitive that I had it assembled before my adult aged son had finished reading the instructions. We then randomly aimed it in 4 directions 0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees using an iPhone built-in compass and just laid the antenna on the floor of the living room and let the TV auto-program the channels. It initially found many more channels than I expected. I expected maybe 4-6 channels. There were about 25 channels in each direction. I didn't count them exactly but I was very surprised.I then proceeded to do some online research to determine the optimum direction to aim based on where the station transmitters were located relative to my physical location. There are many good websites that are available for that research. It took a few hours to gather all that data and make a plan of action. In my case, the best orientation is 350 degree aiming. I ended up mounting it on the ceiling (like a ceiling fan or hanging light) in an unused closet of my apartment. When I completed the installation and scanned for channels, I was amazed ... 117 channels - just in that one direction. I must admit that there were about 30 channels in foreign languages (Spanish and Vietnamese) that were valid channels but not usable by me. The channel farthest away from my physical location was calculated by GPS coordinates to be 126 miles. I live in San Diego and basically everything from LA, San Diego, and Riverside were all received. I then spent the next few hours mapping out all the channels and determining what angles were needed. In total (across all pointing angles), I was able to receive 144 channels with 88 of them in English. It got me thinking ... why the heck am I paying so much for cable? I suspect that if it were attic or roof mounted it might even perform better. In my case - good enough is good enough. I only watch a few hours a week anyway. There are only 2 really small minor things that I would improve. #1 - The rotor that rotates the antenna in the aiming direction ... it would be nice to just enter the angle to aim and have it point in that direction. #2 - The cable that goes from the Antenna to the power source is terminated within the power source (as opposed to being able to disconnect it). So, in my case it is much longer than needed - it causes a big loop of extra cable. I understand that if it went through a connector there would be some RF losses. On the other hand, having that cable 6 feet long instead of ~35 feet long would be a help, and that is on the amplified side anyway. All in all - a really fun experiment and well worth the expense. Good job by everyone involved - manufacturer, distributor, Amazon, and the shipping company. Everyone gets 5*'s on this one.5
