Customer Reviews

Only works on certain lidsLow profile lids the thick tooth on this won't get under. The only way this works is if you pull the zip off the lid, thus making the lid useless for long term reuse. Had they made this out of metal, it would work, but since they use chintzy plastic, they have to make it beefy and thick to avoid it breaking. Pthbbt! I'd pay more for a better one if they made such a thing.Since buying this, I've used it a few times, then forgot about it in favor of better tools for removing lids. This tool is a hassle to use. I don't like it.2Great tool Works well on paint and drywall bucket lips. You have to work your way around the bucket on each tab . It took me a little while to figure out how to use the product. I am not longer fighting with screw drivers or slip joint pliers to get lids off. 5Painless Pry Pal for all bucket/pail lidsIf you have ever tried to pry a lid off of one of the three gallon, five gallon or larger pails/buckets, I know you were as frustrated or sincerely MAD as I became!!! There are no set of pliers or tools, not a pair of hands/fingers that can match one of these lid openers!!!!! They make the labor of opening a paint can, or a bucket of "Prepper" goods/foods/fruit items so effortless and without pain to your fingers and hands. They are a real value here on Amazon. I have two of them, because as you know, you can never find one when you need one. I highly recommend buying one, especially IF YOU WILL HAVE ANY CONTACT with a sealed pail or bucket lid!!!5MUST HAVE for five gallon bucketsOR even gallon buckets. They make opening five-gallon buckets a breeze. I wouldn't live without one of these. This cheap version works great, it is sturdy and doesn't break. There are metal wrenches but this works just fine!! The only difference I can see is the metal has a hammer end to put the lid back on. Putting the lid on isn't the problem, its taking it off and this makes it super easy!5Smooth-On Compatible gallon bucket openers A must have for anyone in the casting business, whether silicone or resin. This tool is injection molded and will open those pesky 1 to 5 gal buckets with ease. I bought this thinking why not, dirt cheap, and was pleasantly surprised. There's another one on here that is made of metal but I think it's overkill for it's purpose. This one will do just fine and last for a long time. 5Finally!This is a must-have if you have 5 gallon paint buckets. I struggle to open them and kill my fingers doing so but this makes it totally doable even with my small, female hands. My painter father with burley man hands even thinks this is awesome. Just buy it.5Does the job! Highly recommend! I bought two of these to open 5 gallon buckets. They do the job. Trick is to get the opener just right on the bucket and the opener will do the rest. If you don't place it just right, you won't be able to open anything. If you can get a good deal as I did, I highly recommend. I bought two and taped each one to a different set of buckets so that they're handy.Overall, not a bad deal and I highly recommend. 4It s not a toyWe use a food grade 5 gallon bucket to brin our turkey the lids are hard to get off by my self this tool made it very easy without tearing up the lid no useing a screwdrivers to lift the lid which can damage the lid and bucket, this tool does no damage at all. It look like a toy, but it s a workhorse. Lots of bang for you buck5This is a must have if you are doing like I am and keep your food in circulationI store a lot of dry goods and foods in 5 gallon and 2 gallon buckets and prying lids off have always been a chore and a real workout. This is a must have if you are doing like I am and keep your food in circulation . Simple to pry off the 5 gallon and 2 gallon lids without having to tear the seal off the lid, and the best part is it leave it undamaged and reusable so you can use for drygoods once your ready to replenish your supply. This is awesome and the bright color is nice so I can locate it quickly in my pantry. I purchased a second one to have multiple tools on hand in case of an emergency. I hope this review was helpful to you. Thank you.5Saves my brew bucketsHave you ever had a stupid little gadget that just makes your life a lot easier for the 4 or 5 bucks you spend on it? Well this is that.. After patiently waiting for my beer to ferment, I wound up getting a screwdriver, and at one point a hammer to open my fermentation bucket, sloshing my precious homebrew everywear, No more! the little baby gets the bucket started open, and works just fine!5Must Have for Anyone Who Has Five Gallon Buckets!I really like this little tool. It's great for popping the lids on five gallon buckets and saving your fingers.I've used it on several food grade buckets which formerly had pickles in them and it works perfectly. You do have to use quite a bit of force to lift the tabs as you go around and you have to work quickly so the previous tab does not reseal before you do the next one, but you quickly get used to it.The tool is made from a nice, thick plastic and feels sturdy in the hand. I've used it almost daily for a month now and I have had no problems with it.This is a must have for anyone who has five gallon buckets!4Sturdy despite being plastic, doesn't work with all lidsI bought a bunch of buckets and lids at Menards for storing horse treats and minerals. The lids proved very difficult to open, so I hopped onto Amazon to search for a lid opener. I saw this one was less than $5, and I got free shipping for being a Prime member, so I ordered it.I was rather concerned about it being plastic, but it's actually very sturdy. There was no deformation or flexing of the tool while using it.Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work with the lids that I have. I actually broke one lid because I used too much force trying to get it open. It does help popping the seal in one spot on the lid, but I have to pry it open with my hands after that; if I continue trying to use the tool I just end up damaging the lid.4Does the job!It does the job but If I were getting just one I would get the one with the mallet end for almost same price so you can use it for both. Since I wanted two, I got one of each they both do what they are supposed to but it's nice do both jobs if you need to, with one tool. I wish that they were both made in the USA, the company's are in the USA but the products are both made in china, buyer beware if you want to be sure you have to call company. It may say USA just because of the company. What a shame!4Bought this 2 years ago Still going strong after 2 years! Sometimes I would have a hard time opening up the 5 gallon bucket of water (have a home made auto chicken waterer) to rinse and refresh the water for our birds and would break my nails, hurt my fingers or damage the 5 gallon bucket lid trying to pry it off with whatever tool I could find to use at the time. Or just wait until my husband got home and do it for me. This works great! I have no problem using it to remove the lid off of the bucket. Makes things go a lot quicker,...which is nice when you're trying to get things done and over with! This was a great buy, and after 2 years it looks like it did when I first bought it. I leave it outside next to the bucket. 5
