Customer Reviews

I thought others who complained about this simply were not as awesome or experienced at installing protectors as I amI should have listened to other negative reviews. I have a video on YouTube on how to install screen protectors with over 80k views. I have done this so many times, and I did it perfectly in this case. But for 2 problems:First, the screen protector is too tall. It's fit's perfectly side to side, but is about 1mm - 0.5 mm too tall. As a result it does not fit on the bottom. I thought others who complained about this simply were not as awesome or experienced at installing protectors as I am. No, it's the screen protector, the damn thing is just too big. It wouldn't hurt anything if it was just 1 mm smaller. Yours may fit, like some of the other people here say, and that just shows how bad the quality control on the product is.Second: the film material is very cheep and super reflective. When I say reflective, I don't mean like oh my, I can't use it in bright daylight any more. I installed it in a dim room with no lights at all behind me, and I could clearly see my own reflection after I was done. Not a shadow, or an outline of my reflection, but a full one, reflection, every wrinkle. It basically becomes a mirror with any black background. I do a lot of photoshop work, so black background is what I see a lot of the time.I would gladly pay $20-40 for a screen protector made out of quality film, like those by Green Onion Supply or Power Support once. This one is made out of that cheep film you get in the eBay generic iPhone protectors, the once which are like $1 with shipping from china for a pack of 12.1Not for inexperienced peopleInstallation is tricky (even setting aside the fact that it is a bit difficult to install a screen protector this large). At first, it appears to be slightly bigger then the actual macbook screen, so it does not stick either along the top or bottom edge. What i did, i used a credit card , and pushed those air gaps towards edges. That did the trick. Honestly, i would not recommend this screen protector if you dont have a lot of experience in installing them. I installed over a 1000 screen protectors on smartphones, tablets, GPS, laptops - you name it. Regardless, i spent almost 30 min installing this one. The outcome is great, i managed to remove all dust and bubbles, and the screen protector is actually anti glare. Bottom line: outcome is great, but installing is tricky and time consuming, not for inexperienced users.4works well, perfectly sized, take your time on install for best resultsworks well. perfectly sized. dust is the enemy of screen protector installation. took me about an hour to clean the screen thoroughly apply the protector and then peel it back using the high tack adjustment tape and removing any remaining trapped dust particles with the low tack tape provided then slowly laying the protector back down. I had to lift and slowly lay the protector back down several times to get every bit of dust out. if you take your time it will come out perfectly with no bubbles, trapped dust or oils. It's nice that they include everything you need to have a dust free install. Just take your time and it will come out perfect. rush it and the results will be less than ideal. It would drive me nuts to have to stare at dust particle trapped in my screen all day.5Beautiful protection for a beautiful machineWe are so pleased to have the screen on our pristine new MacBook Pro protected by the Kuzy Screen Protector Film. The film arrived safely in well designed packaging and included everything needed for installation, though the provided alcohol wipe and cloth seemed to leave a residue on the screen so I followed their recommended cleaning with my eyeglass cleaner sprayed on a microfiber cloth. The film fit the screen exactly, which made the placement a breeze. While some people recommend installing a screen protector in a steamy bathroom to eliminate dust, we don't have a big enough bathroom for that, so I used an old drywaller's trick of using a spray mister in the area I was going to be working a few minutes before undertaking the installation. Just two or three shots of fine mist (move the computer out of the way so it doesn't get wet!) will pull the dust out the air. Installation went flawlessly on the first attempt after I made sure that all the dust was gone, not only from the screen, but from the protective layers on both sides of the film. It appeared that the process of pulling the film out of the protective plastic sleeve it came in caused a static charge to attract dust to the protective layers on both sides of the film, but a gentle wipe with my lightly damped microfiber cloth took care of that. I wanted to preserve the Retina screen's exceptional resolution so I chose this film over Kuzy's anti-glare variety, and while the screen protector might be a bit more reflective than the Mac's glass screen, it is more than made up for by the film's excellent clarity.5Did NOT go on smoothly, and led to over $500 screen replacement. Not so good. I could not apply this screen protector without lots of bubbles. As I tried smoothing this onto my MacBook screen, I must have pressed too hard, for my screen went black. I tried ever conceivable work-around, guided by AppleCare, but finally had to hand over my out-of-warranty MacBook with Retina screen for repair. Nearly $600 later, I have a new screen. The screen protector did not survive.1Fantastic Product if have the Patience!!Once you have it on it looks great. But you must listen to the instructions!! Install in a dust free environment as possible. Running a how shower till the bathroom is steamy, then letting the steam dissipate with the door closed is a great way to create a 'clean room' at home. Even then you have to be SURE to clean the screen till its perfect. The you must have patience until it dust and bubble free. The dust removing stickers work great. It took me 45 minutes or so, but the anti-glare screen looks great!! Highly recommended if you have the patience.- I did work at selling cell phone for 15 years and installed countless screen protectors. But the biggest I ever did was 5 inches never a nearly 16 screen.5Kuzy Anti-Glare Retina Screen Protector I am so glad I bought this to protect the screen of my Macbook Pro Retina. It works well. Many times I have to take this computer to work and there's always that boss he unconsciously puts his finger on the screen. My desktop PC's screen is scratched from a boss unconsciously tapping my screen so I was sure to buy this to protect my screen. I highly recommend this product if you're in a situation like me. Be sure to check all the specs to make sure you get the right size for your Macbook Pro. Otherwise, if you're the only one using the computer you don't need it. It's totally optional. 5fantastic product - I recommend a buy now if u just got a new rMBP First off, I want to slam Apple for giving these 15" retinas a finish/construction that makes the screen super fragile..... *my last 17 inch MBP matte, cinema displays... never had issues when I wipe them...... After a year of use even the keys made 100's of micro scratches from when the lid is closed, wiping the screen created more scratches. That said, Apple did replace my screen citing "screen coating issues" -after getting my new screen on I got this.... makes the screen incredible - it makes it look very similar to a matte screen in the previous models.... went on with 0 bubbles and fits perfectly - SUPER PLEASED with this product - I did have laser focus putting it on and it took me a long time using the steam in the shower. Makes using the mac in sun / direct light MUCH better - finally I can wipe the screen with a napkin with water or a bounty with confidence I am not destroying the screen, because inevitably the screen always gets oily somehow even though is not a touch screen - I think Apple made this screen very fragile since the hardware is basically future proof for next 10 years - since it supports 4k TV's and is super fast...... it's going to take a quantum computer for me to upgrade..... 5Works well but tricky to applyI'm pretty anal when it comes to this so it took me about 20 minutes to apply as I kept lifting it off the screen to clean off dust or align on the screen. When realigning on the screen, only peel off some of the backing to keep the protector dust free. The glossy mirror-like screen will result in moving your head around since your reflection will block your view of dust or fingerprints - yes, the Mac was off. Not complaining but the only way you'll eliminate all dust is if by applying this in a hermetically sealed room wearing a hazmat suit. Since most of us don't have access to those things, I recommend a can of air. If that's not available, then it's the old perseverance and patience. When all was said and done, there were a few barely noticeable bubbles with the screen off. Overall, this is a good product and I'm sure it will serve its purpose. Unlike phone protectors, you won't have to worry about this from coming off.4Get what you paid for, not much elseI have little doubt that this screen protector will guard my screen from an accidental scratch; however, I do not feel as safe as I did when I felt my Zag screen protector. The application process was eerily familiar to Tech Armor's screen protector process. Kuzy does not include a solution to help keep dust and air bubbles out from the instillation/application process. The Kuzy anti-glare screen protector also takes away the bright colors that retina displays produce, leaving little to be desired for anyone doing photo or video editing. Kuzy's screen protector meets my expectations for a short term solution until I have more time to research a high quality screen protector for retina displays.Overall 6.5 / 103Read this and be happyI would have given it a 5 because it works exactly like I wanted it to, it came right on time and it was packaged very well, but... make sure you read all of the instructions and for once FOLLOW them! Dust is the enemy, even a little particle of crap will show as a bubble if you don't do what they tell you to do. Clean the living daylight out of the screen first and don't pull the product out till everything is perfect. Make sure you size it so you can cut it if you need to and be really careful to line it up. You do not want to take it off and do it again because dust in the air will get behind the matt sheet and it will show. Don't get me wrong, this is a good product, just a learning curve and to be fair all of this is in the instructions. So ..Yeah, there ya go4So in the end it works great! And now that I've done it onceThe Retina Macbook Pro is a narrowly crafted machine, so the keyboard touches the screen when it is closed. The screen will get greasy from your keyboard so you need a screen protector! After 4 years of heavy use, my old Retina Macbook Pro WITHOUT a screen protector had a badly stained screen from my fingerprints. The keyboard was printed into the screen with greasy fingerprints. So I knew I needed a screen protector for my new Retina Macbook Pro. I plan to buy one of these every couple years and swap it out as the screen gets my fingerprints on it.This was tricky to apply - but just watch the video, lay out the materials, and remember you can keep taping out dust and reapplying the screen with no harm. So in the end it works great! And now that I've done it once, it will be much easier when I do it again in a couple years.5
