Customer Reviews

VERY THIN, for very light use onlyThis is a poor quality tarp. It is very THIN, leaks at the seems and easily gets holes in it. I bought to this cover over my deck for our party (rain was in the forecast) and the quality is so poor it wasn't possible, leaked at the seams, was too thin to stretch and easily go holes when coming into contact with anything! If you just want to cover your wood pile it is probably fine but I do not recommend this for any type of heavy use.2Weed Removal DefeatedI got these to test out my idea of a non-chemical method to eliminate brush and weeds. In the deep past, I saw that plywood or even cardboard laid over plant growth would retard or even stop further growth. So, applying a quick try, I attempted to stifle unwanted fire hazard by covering the areas with this tarp. Wind soon defeated my efforts. After perhaps a week or two of covering, often the wind would blow the tarp loose. I tried various cheap ways to secure the tarp, but it would frequently be blown uncovered. Seeing no results after the short time that by which I finally gave up, figuring that'd it would be perhaps a month or even more, with the trouble and effort that I had to spend, I now use the tarp for other things. Being once backpacking and camping, they might come in handy, but for lean-tos or snow camping, they do have grommets, and haven't torn due to what wind in the short time that I used them for the outdoors. Haven't tested them for water repellency yet. They are so large, folding them down is a problem. They most likely aren't fire resistant. For as much as I've put into it, it looks that chemical treatment would probably have been better, but for plans and preferences. The realtor did say of this. I like organic, and used to spend a lot for such food. I'm looking for now other methods by how to reduce both worry some fire hazard, and compliance with the neighborhood. In the short weeks that I've wasted the time, and money, this way looks fruitless. Thankfully, as I don't throw away what is still good, there may be other uses for such a versatile item!4Terrible Quality Horrible quality: thin material, cheap grommets that instantly came out of the tarp. I bought this 2 months ago and already tossed it out because the material had huge gaping holes and was fraying apart. I can't believe how quickly this disintegrated when just used as an outdoor cover. Not recommended at all! 1Good pool cover It works really well for a swimming pool cover, I wasnt really expecting it to last over 3 - 4 months, we got strong winds coming up from the hollars. But it's been on for almost 5 months and don't have a rip or tear anywhere. 5It serves its purposeDefinitely not a heavy duty tarp, but it saved me money and serves its purpose. Canopy covers and awnings are expensive, so for $30 it's keeping the leaves out of my kids pool, which makes this momma happy. I don't see it lasting all that long, it's weave is a little loose, so if you're trying to cover something very valuable, get a thicker tarp, but if you just want a cheap pool cover that's not blue, this is the way to go!5DO NOT BUY.Not worth the money. It's SO thin it's see through. I thought this was the heavy brown/green tarp I was accustomed to... NOPE. Don't waste you're money. I had to use it To cover my boat....didn't have time to run and get a new one. I doubt it will last the season. I'm pretty sure water will be getting under it as well. Like I said... see through and with holes. The grommets immediately began popping out the minute I tied it down.1Is their a word worse than crap?I don't often use such words as crap and in this case I don't even think that does this tarp justice. I unfortunately didn't realize how bad it was, until opening it, some 400 miles from home. It is made of two pieces, the fabric of which is so thin that the seams in places were split when I opened it and the colour was flaking off, so it was not fit for any purpose before I actually used it. I was using it to cover some expensive leather chairs that I was transporting home. Needless to say the tarp basically disintegrated on the way home. Thankfully it didn't rain, so I will put this down to experience, but I am surprised that anyone could actually make or sell a product that obviously is not only unusable for any purpose, but made of such substandard material that a child of five would have realized its inadequacy, so I am surprised at Amazon for including in Prime. I will have to be more careful in future1Don't buy!Paper thin junk! If you need a cheap tarp that tears easily, and probably won't stand up in the wind, then this is for you. Holes were going through it as I used it the 1st time. When I'm done with my temporary 1st use, it's going in the garbage. No point in trying to fold it up and save it. I compared it to an older tarp I had in use, and the older one was 2-3 times thicker and reinforced around the edges.1Don't expect it to last a long time It is very thin and not durable. Probably a good buy for someone that has a temporary use such as covering some curing concrete to keep it moist (my use) or keeping a roof dry when they know the repairs will be coming soon. 3Quality matches price. The material is very thin, so it is definitely not for heavy duty use. But I kind of figured that with the price, and also the tarp not being advertised as heavy duty was a pretty good indication. I bought a vacation cabin and noticed it needed a few new shingles, so bought this to place over the section of the roof that needed repaired. I feel like it will get the job done until the weather is warm enough for new shingles to be put on. 3Questionable quality assurance practices There is NO way this was a brand new tarp. Opened it to cover roof and found hole in center and imbedded grass/hay. Clearly this was a return they either didn't check or just recycled to a new customer (me!). Very disappointed. 1You get what you pay for This is the lightest-duty tarp I have ever worked with--very thin. Not that I am an expert in tarps, but I have certainly used a few in my day. On the one hand, it is very nice that it doesn't weigh that much, and for my purposes, that's a plus. However, I'm not super confident that it will not rip a hole in the near future...Speaking of holes, mine had a small hole in it when I first unfolded it--perhaps with a total area of a square inch... maybe less. Given that the tarp has an area of 1200 square feet, that's fairly insignificant. My main concern is that it may grow...And speaking of unfolding it for the first time, I thought I'd mention that doing so was a bit of a challenge--the tarp seemed to stick to itself slightly and was so light weight and large that it took a bit of time to get it all laid out mostly flat. This would have been much easier with 3 or 4 people instead of just me, but I don't seem to recall ever having a tarp stick to itself like that. I thought it was odd. No stars off, just a side note.At this price point, I can overlook a small hole and if it rips after a few uses, I think I can still give it 4 stars. If you want something that will last, you'll have to pay more for it. Probably quite a bit more. 4VERY ThinFor my purpose this tarp is fine, but it's the thinnest tarp I've ever seen, you can almost see thru it. I like that it's green on one side and brown on the other. It appears the edges are glued over since there is white stuff along the entire edge of the foldover. So I would definitely not use it in wind. I'm using it for shade on two side panels of the Advatek large gazebo cage I bought for my mini pig. They want $39 for one that matches the gazebo and I got this tarp for less than $8. I will fold it over and attach with zip ties along top and sides. The brown will match the gazebo top. I feel that most buyers would want a sturdier and thicker tarp so I'm rating it 3 stars.3Extremely thin, not for any serious use.I bought this to cover a wood pile so I didn't expect a top-of-the-line tarp...but I also didn't expect a bottom-of-the-barrel one. This is essentially the fabric from a reusable shopping bag but in a larger dimension. I just finished putting this over the pile in advance of our first snowstorm and I wouldn't be surprised if it shreds after a couple of weeks. It is ridiculously thin. The first picture shows how skimpy the fabric is; my gloved fingers are visible through the tarp. The second picture shows how the grommets are not visibly reinforced in any way and appear to be stamped into the folded edges of the tarp. The third picture shows how loose the weave is, which makes me question its durability. For comparison purposes, the fourth pic is a tarp I purchased at Costco four years ago for about the same price. Take notice of the thicker weave and the reinforced corner grommet. I will not buy this again1I got this for an outdoor skating rink, but the tarp is very loosely weaved I got this for an outdoor skating rink, but the tarp is very loosely weaved - it won't hold water even if its life depended on it. I'm not sure how this would hold up in a storm, as the tarp is scary flimsy. I almost ripped it while I was taking it out of the bag. If you're looking for a tarp that will last, try something thirty or so dollars up. 2DON'T BUY IF YOU NEED WATERPROOF! DON'T BUY THIS IF YOU NEED WATERPROOF!!!! I was having flooring put into my house so needed to store my furniture out on a back patio deck. It rained during the week I had it stored. When I removed the tarp to bring the furniture back in, I found one area (OF COURSE IT HAD TO HAVE BEEN RIGHT OVER A PRESSED WOOD DESK THAT DOESN'T TAKE GETTING WET!) that was really wet. I couldn't see a tear in the tarp but I could watch water dripping in from several areas - it was like cheesecloth instead of being waterproof. It's lightweight and easy to use but that could be the problem for keeping out water. It is VERY THIN. 1Listen to the guy who said "Don't buy." He was onto something...Luckily, I had to use this tarp as a protective covering for the floor. Unluckily, the tarp had some ripped lines and patches. Luckily I was able to cover the tarp with a cheaper plastic covering. Unluckily, the condition of the product was so bad that I couldn't return it. Luckily, I just threw it away after usage. Unluckily, I realized that I dropped about $25 for a piece of torn plastic.Don't buy this product if you need non-ripped, non-patchy, non-destroyed, usable tarp. Buy it for everything else. If you would like some sun lines on that new paint job or some extra drops of water on your wood for extra charm and character, go for it. It also makes for a good statement piece in the trash bin. I hope it's recyclable...1Don't waste your $ The tarp came a day after we needed it and a day after it was promised by. I emailed seller but never heard back. It's been over a month so far. As far as quality the eyelet holes are weak and 2 ripped right off at a firm tug. The tarp material is very thin and tore as we dragged it over a 2x4 frame. Not recommended for anything more than covering firewood or perhaps ground cover. 1Tears easilyGarbage! Thats pretty much all I can say. When opened 3 of the grommets were off and fell out of the plastic packaging. When securing the tarp it started to rip at 2 of the grommets. It is super thin, tears easily with minimal pressure. I doubt it will last more than a few months since 3 grommets are missing and 2 more are already torn on the first day of use. If i could return it I would, but the hassle of "untarping" and shipping back and retarping would not be worth it.1thru whole winter i kept expecting it to fall apart and be a big mess but it has held up great. great price and delivered promptly put on garage last fall because roof leaked. its still there and whole in mid march in michigan. thru whole winter i kept expecting it to fall apart and be a big mess but it has held up great. great price and delivered promptly. if needed would buy again. saved my garage. 5
