Customer Reviews

Great Replacement Antenna. You will not be disappointed.I replaced the stock batwing type antenna on my fifth wheel. The stock antenna performed horribly. I was only able to bring in three or four stations and at times the quality was poor. The stations would drop and/or freeze. I installed the King Jack as a direct replacement. The installation is dead simple. I did not need the amplifier that came with the unit as I already had one installed. The match up was great. When I turned on the system, I expected some improvement but I was blown away by its performance. Numerous stations came in clear and the signal was solid. No dropping or freezing. Highly recommend for a replacement of stock RV TV antennas.5No improvement!I was replacing the Winegard crank-up antenna that I believe was factory installed on our 2012 travel trailer. I was looking for an antenna that didn't need to be cranked (because I didn't want to worry about forgetting to crank it down) and something that got better reception. I thought I did the research and that I was going to love the results. That's not the case. I like that it's easier to use but I've never gotten more than 2 or the 4 lights to light on the receiver display. In my driveway at home, I got more channels with the old antenna than I get with the new one. I can only receive 2 of the 3 major channels so I've gone backwards. The install is complete, because we felt confident that this was going to be a good choice. So I'm not able to return it. It's a sad decision.3Product works fine, well madeProduct works fine, well made, been installed on my Class A RV for a few weeks now.. That being said I am a little disappointed in it's performance..Take note where I park my RV the antenna is at its maximum range and this King Antenna is not a signal amplifier.. My old bat wing antenna parked in the same place brought in better reception than the King I purchased.. This could be because my old bat wing antenna when raised has a higher profile.. The antenna works fine when closer to civilization bringing in loads of channels clearly..My old bat wing antenna disintegrated due too high winds travelling through the West Virginia Mountains my new King Antenna has a lower aerodynamic profile and so far works great with no worries.. It's a good product, maybe my expectations were too high in bringing in stations that were on the fringe... Three Stars3So far awesome, added channels and vastly stabilized the picture on what I already had.I was kind of on the fence about this antenna, but after taking the plunge I couldn't be happier. Before the install I could get about 15 channels at my house, several of which would break up in any wind or movement of the antenna due to people walking in the RV. After the install i increased to 20 channels, all of which are crystal clear and completely stable shaking the RV all over the place. I will post an update after I use it at my campsite, but my initial impression is very positive. For all the folks wondering what It comes with for mounts, here ya go. It comes with the bracket to directly attach it to the WIneguard Sensar mast, as well as a universal bracket for attaching to a pole for home use. It comes with a voltage "injector" that you would install in your coaxial line to provide 12vdc to the head, and the 120V-12V wall adapter. On the application with the wineguard sensar replacement I used the origional 12v supply for the sensar so I didn't have to add anything to my wiring. These parts are just extra for me, but they would be needed if you were using it for a home antenna.5Great antennaWhat an improvement. I had a Winegard wingman with UHF attachment and only received 7 channels with amplifier on. 3 of those were intermittent. After installing the King replacement head I received 29 channels. Although installation was easy and straight forward, I did have a question and wanted to order something else and their customer service was courteous and very helpful. The part I ordered was received in 2 days.5Nice UpgradeBought this to replace my original Winegard and it works and fits perfectly. I think the picture is much better and it gets a ton of stations. It fits directly on the original crank up mount. Nice upgrade.5Exceptional antenna.I can not express how pleased I am with this antenna!!!! Story: Just bought a camper in February. Brand New. It had come with a omni-directional TV/AM/FM antenna. It was sort of a mushroom shaped affair that would only receive about three TV channels in a major metropolitan city where I know there were dozens more. The radio reception was worse. I did my research and looked at countless reviews before buying this antenna. It seemed to be the highest rated antenna of it's type out there. Arrived in perfect shape with everything that was supposed to be included. My installation was different from others in that I was not retro fitting an old raise/swivel type antenna, so treated it as a new install. When I started removing the previous antenna, I noticed that the manufacturer did a really bad job with the RG-6 connectors. Loose connections, stingers (center conductor) WAY too long, kinked cables etc. So I thought I would attempt to clean up the bad install first and give the original antenna a second chance. No luck there. It was just as bad as before! Out came the old antenna and in went this one. The instructions are excellent and I had the new one up and running in about two hours total. I immediately got 65 (count 'em) 65 channels!!! When I fine tuned the directional knob a little, I got 67. Of course I Dicor 'ed the new unit very well. I also installed a separate radio antenna and that works well too. Forgot to mention that I did everything I could to make sure my receiving equipment wasn't the problem. If fact, the radio worked better with a coat hanger in it than it did with the original antenna, and the TV got about ten channels holding an inexpensive indoor antenna out the window of the camper. I am SO pleased with this antenna. Have not experienced any troubles as pointed out in some reviews.5Awesome and easy to installI purchased this antenna to replace my broken batwing. The antenna still worked good except the mounting bracket was broken. I did a scan before I replaced it and the King had a much stronger signal as seen with my signal meter and picked up a couple extra channels. The signal did not even get any weaker when I lowered the antenna from 36" to 12" (I had to cut the mounting tubes down so the new antenna would clear my AC unit). My batwing even had the UHF enhanced add on attachment. However I could not get any local VHF stations like I could with my home antenna. I reinstalled my old batwing and I couldn't pickup any of the local VHF stations with it either. I called King and they were very responsive and told me that their antenna is primarily for UHF and will not work very well for VHF signals. So the end result is the King is a much better antenna even when when 24" lower than the original batwing sitting at 36"5This thing blows all the competition awayWhen I bought my RV it had a Winegard Batwing that was not working, I cleaned up all connections and tested to see if it was broken, it was,so I replaced it with a new bat wing then ran a Channel Scan I was not impressed with the amount of channels that I got.I then went out and got a Wingman add on, that put my channel scan up to 87,but I had a clearance problem with the Wingman sensar IVSo I opted to put a Jack on and my channel scan went up to 174. This thing is by far better than any Winegard that I have used and cheaper.Don't let the techies feed you some bull about this antenna not working as well as the Winegard .This thing works in the real world. It is easy to install and It receives both UHF and VHF television signals better than anything else I have tried. I love it.5Great antenna with better rangeWe replaced an older (2011) bat wing antenna on our fifth wheel. We get a much stronger signal now -- double what we used to get in the same location. We installed this ourselves and the installation was fairly straightforward.5
