Customer Reviews

Get with the Program(mer) ~Got one of these hoping it could be user-programmed to replace the one original to a 2011 Toyota Sienna LE. Nope. Dealer or locksmith. Multiple attempts following the directions for user-programming failed. Otherwise, seems like a credible,product.4Works for 2008 toyota siennaI bought this for a 2008 Toyota Sienna LE. It comes with a battery pre-installed and works great on my van. When you get the remote it comes with a slip of paper that directs you to their website, from there you can print the instructions for programming your remote. It is very important that you read through the instructions first and follow them carefully. The instructions are lengthy but very doable. I was able to program it on the first try. There is no need for the services of a locksmith for this year Sienna as long as you follow the programming instructions correctly. It is my understanding though, that you might not be able to self program the remote on newer model Siennas.5Works great - remember $ for the locksmith!Fob works great, though range is shorter than the original one - still more than 50 ft, though. Cost $93 for a locksmith to program it for my 2011 Toyota Sienna XL. Still way cheaper than getting one at Toyota!5Very good, works wellVery good, works well. Much cheaper than oem replacement ($100+). A bit annoying that you have to take it to the dealership to set up (they charge you for setup, too, $100). Also, the dealership wont insure the work, as it is not an oem key fob, so if it doesn't work they still charge you for the labor. Luckily, this key fob works just fine. And the guy at the dealership was shocked at how much I paid for it :).5fobfast service.website said it would work for my vehicle. packaging inside shipping container said not programmable for my vehicle. spent hours looking up how to program remote. not successful. had to take it to dealer to program. additional $$$$.once programmed it works great.not a do it yourself item.3It works very well if you just follow the instructionsReplacing 2 lost transponder keys and this remote for my 2009 Sienna with hardware bought here for about $28 total saved me spending the $285 that my local Toyota dealership wanted for both items - including 90 minutes of labor when all of it takes about 4 minutes once you get the hang of it. Many lessons acquired over the past week researching this:1- Do your homework. If your vehicle is a bit older (2010 or earlier) there is a high probability that a simple programming sequence exists and is available on the internet for you to do the steps in your car without any dealership computer. Make sure you match the correct model of key and remote to your car make, model and year. Don't do like the idiots that post a comment like "It don't work with my car" without any explanation or who expect this key to work with other brands, and pollute the star average with their useless review. More recent and sophisticated transponder keys and/or keyfobs may require dealership programming.2- Follow instructions that you find in many blogs posts precisely. There are many out there - all show the same instructions of a series of inserting the keys, opening door and pushing remote buttons. Just google "program remote for YYYY Make Model"3- The instructions for Toyota tend to be a bit on the long and complicated side , compared to other brands but they work, and are quite simple if you still own at least one master key.4- For the transponder key, some hardware stores (Lowe's) will refuse to cut any key that they do not sell you. Some others (Home Depot) are much nicer and could even do it for free if you tell them you only need the key cut and will handle the programming yourself. The keys that I got to complete this set and programmed as easily was also found on Amazon as "2 KeylessOption Replacement Uncut Ignition Chipped Key Transponder Blank Compatible with Toyota Dot Chip" for my 2009 Sienna.Good luck and don't rely on dealerships who may not (or pretend not to) know these simple programming instructions that Toyota and many brands clearly built into their vehicles.5Works for 2009 Sienna LE with auto side doorsWorks great for 2009 Toyota Sienna LE. Plastic feels a bit of low quality (not too concerned for $10 item) and button pressing feels cheap but should be fine for my use as spare remote. Programming steps by vendor were prefect. Got it working in 1 try.5The locksmith did point out to me that the material of these remotes is not the greatest, so if you drop itI bought two of these for a 2011 Toyota Sienna LE. I was specifically told to purchase this one instead of the remote that has an additional button for trunk release. I was told that one would not work and so I decided to play it safe and purchase this version instead. I had to find a locksmith that specialized in programming them but he was able to use his machine, close and open the doors a few times, work his magic and *poof*, my two remotes worked (no trunk release, but both side doors and lock/unlock). I did not test the panic button, but I assume that works as well. The locksmith did point out to me that the material of these remotes is not the greatest, so if you drop it, it may break open. But the remote is a bit lighter than the OEM one. His suggestion (and I should have asked him to do it but I forgot), was to open the remote, then glue it shut. But I was thinking that you would probably only want to do that if you could put in a brand new, very long-lasting battery in there!4Works well - instructions to program are providedI purchased a 2007 Toyota Sienna LE that came without the remote. I purchased this remote and had it working in 2 minutes for the locks and both power side doors. The instructions direct you to remotesremotes.com where they provide full written details. I recommend this vs a video because it's 14 steps. Note that if you buy two or more remotes you'll have to program them at the same time as the system resets every time you start the program cycle again.5Looks decent, works fine, a bit flimsyThis seems to be a good value. Using this for our spare key as out other remote was lost. Programmed fine and works with no issues. Buttons are a bit more recessed than OEM and you definitely notice it's lighter and feels a bit more flimsy. That said, for the price it works fine and operates as intended.4
