Customer Reviews

Perfect replacementThe plastic on my old key fob for my Honda Accord broke so I ordered this. It was really easy to replace and it has served me well for over 3 months now. The only thing i might mention is that the paint on the keys (for lock and unlock symbols etc) have darkened so it's harder to see. But that is not a problem since most people would have that memorized.5Excellent replacement case, but keep old buttonsThis replacement key fob shell was just what I was looking for after my original Honda key fob broke at the key loop hole and could no longer stay on my key chain. Opening this one and swapping the guts was a snap, and the price is nearly half what I would have paid at O'Reilly's or AutoZone. As several other reviewers mentioned, the buttons that come with this tend to stick out a little bit too much. I thought this would not bother me, but after a week of accidentally unlocking or locking my car when handling my keys, I decided to replace the new buttons with the buttons from my original key fob. It now works perfectly.4Good enough for a 18 year old car, you get what you pay forFor the price, I got the product that I was expecting. I just wish that there was a higher-quality option available. The case I received was not the same color as the original remote for my car, did not have the molded Honda logo, and needed a little filing to make the circuit board even fit inside. I opted to use the original exterior buttons from my Honda remote, as the new ones did not fit well and "Panic" was spelled "Pan1c". This improved the fit and finish, but I have yet to get the Panic button to sit flush and feel like it is installed correctly. All in all, it is a good cheap option to replace the case on the key fob when it breaks. Mine snapped where the keyring goes through, and with Prime shipping, this took care of the problem quickly. Overall, I can live with the result.3Replaced 2001 Honda Accord remotes that pop open/plastic shell is broken (but original remotes still worked)I bought this item because the remote for our 2001 Honda Accord broke where it goes around the keychain. Our other remote for the 2001 Honda Accord was starting to pop open periodically. This item was the perfect solution to both problems. It is relatively simple to open the original manufacturer remote, take out the circuit board, pop it in the new remote and snap it closed. The only difference between the original remotes and the replacement is that the icons on the buttons & the panic button are separate pieces that need to stay in place while you are snapping the remote closed.5Great replacement Fob Case This replacement case has been working great for months now for my 99 Honda Accord. Seems durable.I purchased this vehicle 3 months ago. One fob came with the vehicle. It looked like crap and didn t look like it would do anything. The buttons were missing and I couldn t get my fingers in the holes to push the button on the circuit board.I swapped the board over into this new case and it s functioning like new now. Very satisfied.5Easy switch overAs cars age so does everything that has to do with that car gets old and breaks, including the remotes! And for my 2002 Honda Accord it was the case! The constant beating finally made the plastic shatter on the old one. If I got a whole remote it would have been expensive, but this cheap remote saved me a ton of money and time (as I didn't have to reprogram the remote, I just used the intact insides from my last remote). The buttons take a while to break in at the beginning, but after some use they feel like the factory remote.5Make sure you hear the click!First of all, the item arrived earlier than expected and I even got a free key-chain along with the nice and sturdy case. When I was trying to fit the circuit inside, I was afraid to push it down because I thought I may break it, but the circuit wouldn't fit in. Finally, I got frustrated and push down with some force until I heard a click and the circuit stayed there firmly; so when I dropped the case, the entire assembly (case, circuit, and battery) won't just fly out everywhere on the floor like my old flimsy case (I actually have to use tape to hold the old one together). However, the buttons are pretty stiff so I have to use more force to push the buttons compared to the old case but I can live with that. Overall, I like the case for the price ($6 and free shipping) compared to $20 at Autozone.p/s: my car is Honda Accord 2001 EX4Perfect!!!!Perfect product! Just what I needed. My original remote had broken at the key ring section causing me to continuously lose the remote. The last time I lost the remote, it took me 4 months to find it. Miraculously, the remote showed up and when it did, I immediately ordered the replacement shell. If you are looking for just the shell with the buttons and the rubber piece that goes behind the buttons, then get it! Posted pics of old vs new.5Had to use my original button/gasket assembly to avoid accidental trunk openingsI purchased this as the remote case for my 2002 Honda Accord was starting to fall apart. When I received it, I took the circuit board out of my old remote, stuck a new battery in it and installed it in the new case with the included silicone gasket and buttons. Everything looked good and all the buttons functioned. After a couple of days, and coming out to my car in the driveway with the trunk popped open three times, I took another look at the remote. What I noticed was that the trunk button actually stuck out from the case instead of being slightly recessed as it was on OEM remote. I took it apart and was a little amazed that the trunk button was actually taller than the unlock button. I briefly considered filing down the trunk button so it would be recessed but then I thought about trying to use the button/gasket assembly from my original remote. After removing a little flash from the panic cutout I found that the original button/gasket assembly fit perfectly and once again the trunk button was recessed properly. I have no idea why the manufacturer of the replacement case made the trunk button taller but if they fixed this one issue I would give them five stars for this product.4Worked perfectlyThis replaced my 2001 Acura key fob case perfectly! My original fob case broke around the plastic ring. It took me 5 minutes to open the original fob case and move the circuit board to the new case. The new case comes with everything except the green circuit board. All you need to swap them out is a small flat head screwdriver to pry open the plastic fob case. THe new case simply snaps together.5
