Amazing little amp - for the size and money!AMAZING! This tiny amp from Kenwood (not even top of the range), is simply amazing! I have it bridged to 2 channels delivering 150W per channel, and it does that with ease!It is actually powering two Eminence Beta 10A PA woofers and a horn tweeter in a powered PA speaker I built. It also sounds great, no poor, sharp, harsh sound. It is actually somewhat warm!BTW - for all the people saying that it burned up or failed. I have had the amp for 5 months mounted inside a sealed speaker box. Never even got that warm!Pros:SmallPowerfulStays coolWarm soundEfficientBridgeableBuilt in crossoverCons:Really - none that I can see besides not having speaker terminals, it has just wires on a harness (standard color coded). This is no big deal for me!5Small compact marine amp.Small compact marine amp. This amp doubled the sound output of the head unit which allows me to easily hear my music at hwy speeds on my Harley. I'm powering a pair of MTX Thunder 6 1/2 speakers and I can turn the stereo full blast with very minimal distortion.I installed the Kenwood amp in a 2013 Streetglide which i already installed an aftermarket head unit in...its a tight fit putting the fairing shell back on. I made a mounting bracket to keep the amp from touching the head unit to help with heat disapation. I also used 10 guage power and ground cables and 14 guage speaker wires for my connection's. Im also only using 2 of the 4 channels...to leave room for adding a set of saddle bag speakers later on.Very happy with this amp.5There's a good chance I'll buy another one of these soon.I don't know why Amazon lists this as "Kenwood 22154656" instead of its actual model number of KAC-M3004, but if you're curious, that's what it is. I'm extremely happy with this amp. I also own a KAC-M1804, and I'm not sure whether these are concurrent models or the 3004 replaces the 1804 or what, but if space isn't your *sole* concern I would highly recommend the slightly larger M3004 - it's something like 1/2" in each direction bigger, and what you get for that is more power, bridging, filters, variable crossovers, a 2 ohm stability. It's a lot of extra features for a small price and size increase. It works perfectly in my 2002 Saab Viggen in place of the factory amp, and since it has built-in HPF/LPF, I'm able to drive the door woofers in LPF mode (as the factory did) and the rear full-range speakers at the same time, with the same tiny amp. Huge improvement in sound for something like a 30 minute install. I guess bear in mind I'm listening to MP3s in a convertible, so I won't comment on its audiophile qualities, but it seems very good especially for a Class D amp. I was having a rough time finding an amp that did exactly what I needed it to (that is, be small, reasonably powerful, and have a built-in LPF) so I was happy to find this. There's a good chance I'll buy another one of these soon.5Fits anywhere, sounds great and doesn't get hotI installed two (2) of these behind the factory subwoofer trim panel of a 2016 Ford Edge (after removing the sub and fabbing up an amp rack) and they haven't overheated despite the 106 degree F weather we've been having here in Texas. I used them to power a set of Morel components (active) and Morel coaxials. One of the amplifiers is bridged down to 2 channels for the Morel woofers, the other drives the component tweeters and the rear coaxials. Bought these because I used to be a Kenwood fan but haven't used them in a long time. They still build some solid mobile audio gear and I wouldn't hesitate to buy these mini-amps again!5Tiny amp, BIG power!!This little amp put a smile on my face! I did not have much faith the rated numbers were accurate, turns out this little bad boy is underrated! I have an SMD Amp Dyno and decided to try out this amp in bridged 2ch mode...it surprised me!Rated @ 8 ohms (bridged) - 100W x 2 @ 14.4VMeasured wattage at 8 ohms (bridged) - 132W x 2 @ 14.2VRated @ 4 ohms (bridged) - 150W x 2 @ 14.4VMeasured wattage at 4 ohms (bridged) - 192W x 2 @ 13.93VRated "Max Output Power" - 600WMeasured Dynamic RMS Power at 2 ohms (bridged) - 374+357 = 731W !!See my full video review on YouTube under the channel for BigDWiz.I also tested this little amp in the 3 channel mode, using 2 channels for 6.5" coaxials and the other two channels bridged to a single 10" 4 ohm MTX Blue Thunder subwoofer. The amp sounded very clean and dynamic. I was playing back FLAC files through my Kenwood KMM-BT312U head unit in my toolbox boombox. I bought this amp to use in the toolbox boombox, was so happy with the performance, I also ordered the matching 300W monoblock, the KDC-M3001. I'll test this when it comes and report the results.I don't have reliability statistics as this amp is relatively new to the market. I can say compared to similar sized amps such as the Rockford Fosgate PBR-300x4, the Kenwood eats it's lunch. The PBR isn't bridgeable (also not 2 ohm stable) and isn't nearly as flexible as the Kenwood. It is my opinion Kenwood has set the bar here for the mini amps. At about the same dimensions (except thickness) as my iPhone 6 plus, it's simply incredible this little amp can put out over 700W dynamically! Great job Kenwood!5Great little amp for my needsBeing unfamiliar with such a small amp, I made the mistake of ordering a 4 AWG install kit because that is all I have ever used. Well I was way off on this! After doing some research and calling KENWOOD (they had no idea and referred me to Crutchfield) I found it on the Crutchfield website. 10 AWG is sufficient for wiring this amp. The power/ground posts are so small you cant fit much bigger than 10AWG unless you had some special connectors to accommodate.I am very happy with this amp and would highly recommend it for the average stereo guy. It ain't gonna break windows or peg decibel meters but it sounds great.52017 Street GlidePerfect size for my 2017 Street Glide. Fits right above the head unit on the stock shelf. If you are going to use this with your stock system you will need to use a line level converter and cut the stock wire harness. just know you should replace the stock speakers. with the proper set up this thing cranks! l should say that I am not using the stock heat unit or speakers. do the research and make sure you are ready for this. I love it.5Nice compact amplifierHow the times have changed. I have a 4 x 60 watt power amp from about 20 years ago that is about four times the size of this little marvel. This little amp was small enough to tuck in an area behind the center console in the dash, with room to spare. One thing I might improve would be to make the wires larger in the speaker harness--14 gauge should be a bare minimum. This amp has a few nice features, such as the switchable, adjustable crossovers. Something I wouldn't expect to see in an amp of this price. Sound quality is pretty good--the amp can put out some serious punch when it needs to. It is slightly on the "harsh" side, but I'm used to tube-powered amplifiers at home. For what it is, and what it costs, no complaints!4The little amp that couldI have a 2006 Colorado and decided to upgrade the sound system. I used JBL's Concert 601CF and a Kenwood DPX792BH deck. Ater installing the deck, I realized the system did not have enough juice to move the speakers. So after looking for a while I decided to give this amp a try. I needed something small to fit in the dash in order to save time on the install. The amp did not disappoint. It fit right at the base below the AC controls which helps to keep it cool. Also, it moves the speakers pretty good. I have to wait to see if it will last, but so far is a good purchase. I am giving it 4 stars because quality remains in question.4Love it, Make sure all of the connections are ...Love it, Make sure all of the connections are solid or it will over heat!!! Once done it makes the stereo on my street glide one heck of a great sounding system.. Plenty of power to push two 6-1/2" and two 6" x 9" speakers!!!!5
