Very nice lens! This closeup lens, because it is Achromatic, is a wonderfully sharp lens for shooting macro photos. On a super zoom camera, there's no way to interchange lenses - so a true, dedicated macro lens isn't possible. The results with this are as good as I remember getting with a real macro lens on a 35mm film SLR - with a bellows.5Good Protection Works as advertised 5... me the ability to use my 50mm lens for excellent macro photos This is a high quality lense for close-up work that gives me the ability to use my 50mm lens for excellent macro photos. 5... bought this for my Panasonic FZ1000 and it works great. No color fringing and quite sharp! Here's a yellow jacket full frame and an insert of the eye at 100%.5Good Optics, but Hard to Work WithI was looking for a 2 diopter, 72mm achromat. This is as close as I could get without shelling out hundreds of dollars for a special order item. I use it with a Sony RX10 IV. You can use it at 600mm, but depth of field is virtually non-existent, and there is little or no focus range, even at f5.6. The situation improves at 400mm, significantly so at 30mm.This is a filter for close in work. Expect to use a tripod, or flash if you don't have bright sun light. Moving targets, like dragonflies, will be hard. The filter itself weighs a great deal. That said, the results aren't bad. There is no noticeable chromatic aberration, and other aberrations seem under control. This is about as high a diopter lens as I would want to work with with this particular camera. Earlier, I had tried a 5 diopter achromat, and found it pretty much unworkable at all focal lengths. I was able to return that one. I also purchased a single lens set by Hoya (1, 2, 4 diopters). Compared to the Kenko achromat, only the 1 diopter had acceptable levels of chromatic aberration. I now have a workable +1 and a +3. The +1 will likely get the most use, but the the Kenko +3 will be nice to have around.4A good alternative to simple close-up lenses.Although it is significantly more expensive than simple close-up lenses, this achromatic lens involves less of a compromise of image quality. For working in the field, where you might be reluctant to use extension tubes for fear of getting dirt into the camera, this lens is ideal. As a bonus, it arrived much sooner than the estimated time.4macro++ that's all I can say.Achromatic diopter adapter for lenses with 62mm filter threads.PRO:-doesn't introduce chromatic aberration (unlike the "MC" series, or other non-Achromatic products)-Will get a 1:4 lens to about 1:1, or a 1:1 lens to almost 2:1-Works best with longer focal-length macro lenses (100mm+)CON:-Doesn't work well with wide-angle macro lenses (this is physics, not a product flaw in any way)-doesn't fit every size of filter thread? (again, not a product flaw)-is legitimately heavy for a filter, which might change the focus speed of your lens, or cause focus creep when in manual-focusGreat way to improve the size of your subjects. No distortion either.5Excellent productWorks just fine,High quality product.Fast and efficient delivery.Thank you.5great close up lensvery well made and works great would not want a more powerful one wish they had one in 62mm5Achromatic macro performance for a bargain price! For the price, you can't beat it. Achromatic performance at 1/3 or less the price of the Marumi close filter.Center region is laser-sharp. It falls off very slowly until you get some loss of definition and coma-esque (small) effect near the corners. Colors are good, it's fairly light so it works on a compact fixed lens system. Includes Japanese language Kenko box with compact vinyl fold-flap case.Sadly, I can't compare directly with the much-loved Marumi Achromats, but here's a full crop and detail crop of a shot I took with a Sigma DP3 Merrill.5Happy camperExactly what I was hoping for. I'm currently using it for doing macro/closeup work with my DxO One camera. The results exceed my expectations. I will also use this with some of my 49mm Pentax prime lenses. Worth the relatively long ship times from Japan.4This close-up lens is perfect! It takes wonderful macro photosBought this to use on my Nikon D5200. I use a zoom lens, and didn't want to have to remove the lens every time to take a macro shot and run the risk of getting dust and dirt in my camera. This close-up lens is perfect! It takes wonderful macro photos, without the distortion that you typically get with the cheaper, single element close-up filters. It screws on the front of the lens so quickly and easily, and is quite heavy and very well constructed. Very pleased with the photos I have taken with it so far, and can't wait to experiment with it more.5
