Works for our aging iPad 2We bought this because since our last case bit the dust. It became harder to find cases for the good old iPad. Good thing Amazon still has a few good suppliers and Supcase dos not disappoint. This case is solid and protects the iPad 2 very well, not that it really needs that much protection. Our son has been tossing it around and dropping it on our tiled floor since the last case broke. The iPad has survived with minor dents on each corner. So we decided to buy another case. Anyway, I highly recommend this if you're looking for a protective case for your aging iPad 2.I would just like to not that the plastic screen protector bothered us a bit at the beginning. I though about ripping it out, but after a few days, we got used to it so we decided to keep it.5Sturdy Case Great case. My son is mentally disabled and he is rough on his iPad. I had been using Otterbox cases for the longest time and they are great cases. However, he would consistently tear the corners of the Otterbox rubber outer layer and, at that point, the case started coming apart.That is not the case with the Supcase. This thing is very sturdy without adding too much bulk or weight. He has dropped his iPad more than a couple of times with this case on and there's been no issues with the performance of the iPad. 5Needs stickier edges, but otherwise pretty awesome! So this replaced an old gumdrop case for ipad 2. Fits great on the ipad 2 and my only complaint was has been that the edges could be a bit more grippy as now it slides on our kitchen table. That makes it hard to prop it up on anything and watch videos or check out the news.Haven't dropped it yet so can't speak to durability but this is a nice tight case which has breathed new life into our old workhorse ipad 2.Thanks Supcase!------Two years later: still going strong and still looks great. And the Ipad basically gets hours of daily use. Just wipe down periodically with a paper-towel and some Windex and you are good to go! 5Wish I would have bought this sooner.After breaking my screen and replacing it, I bought this case which is much more protective than my previous case. It looks sleek, feels sturdy with a good reassuring grip that it won't slip easily from my hands again. Even if it did I feel it would take a good fall and be ok. Cost me less that $22.00. I consider it a great purchase.Update: 06/16/17 this case is still protecting my iPad and doing a fine job of providing a good grip. It's has taken a couple of bumps but nothing to serious. It still works. I don't like how beat up the screen looks when powered off. There are scratches that have showed up with time and use. The good thing is they are not noticeable once the screen is on. Still happy with this.5Perfect fix for my problem once glass protector plastic removedMy wife's older i-Pad has a crack in the glass at the corner. I looked into having the glass replaced (I've done this before on this unit) but the cost to do so is more than this older device is worth. We figured we would end up getting her a new one soon, and passing this along to the kids, anyway. But if it was going to be the kids' i-Pad, the problem of the glass still remained, and another problem surfaced: we would certainly need a case for an i-Pad that was going to be primarily the children's. This great product solved both problems!I ordered this case because it covers the corners and perimeter of the face of the i-Pad, and as such, covered up the cracked area completely. It also promises to protect the i-Pad, which we haven't really tested out yet, but it seems likely that it will perform in this area, too.The only down side, which other reviewers have mentioned, was the plastic glass protector. I found it impossible to get it seated correctly without bubbles or tiny dust particles underneath. If you've ever applied a glass protector to a device like this, you know it's a bit of a delicate process, but the glass protector on this item is attached to the front frame of the protector making it very cumbersome. It's like trying to thread a needle with boxing gloves on. In the end, I - like many of the other reviewers - just ripped the plastic glass protector out of the frame and disposed of it. It created some work, though, trying to clean away the adhesive with goo-gone and then clean away the strong citrus smell of the goo-gone. I would have much rathered that either the glass protector came as a separate item, unattached to the case (then you'd have your choice if to use it or not, and if you chose to use it you would have an easier, hopefully more successful time applying it) or just omitted all together.Still, even with the glass protector and the trouble of removing it, I would absolutely purchase this item again. For my situation, it was an extremely cost-effective solution that seems to be working great!4Great IPad boxVery comparable to the Otter Box. I only wish it had a stand but other than that looks pretty water resistant. Screen protector could be a little tighter, there are some air bubbles, but overall im pretty happy with it. Seems to be very few crevices water/liquid could get into. Havent tried to take it off yet though so might not be easy to put back on but was simple enough to assemble5A must buy! Great value.This case is really nice. Comparable with the Otter Box case. It was a little difficult to put on, but there is a YouTube video and even a scan bar on the packaging to let you know that it is a little difficult to put on. After I put it on, it fit like a glove and I have no doubts whatsoever that this case will protect my son's iPad 2 from drops and getting wet. I am happy with it this far. If my experience changes in my experience, I will update my review. I am not a paid customer and do leave good and bad reviews on every item I purchase to help and even warn people from items that I purchased, because I myself read other people's reviews to help me in my decision to purchase or not to. Was mostly just what I wanted. I'm a mechanic so I work in a not so forgiving environment and wanted to protect my iPad from dirt or grease since I use this to process workorders. It has a nice feel to it, looks sleek, and isn't too bulky.The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because it could really use a kickstand. 4A Heavy Addition for Peace of MindDefinitely adds weight to the iPad, but feels solid and I've no doubt it'll help protect the tablet from knocks and light spills. The included screen cover seems fairly heavy duty too, but doesn't affect the touch screen interaction or clarity. Mine arrived with a fine scratch in the top right corner, but is invisible when the device is on, so not worth a return. As others have said, it takes a few minutes to attach. In fact, it took me a while to detach in the first place from the foam insert.PROS: Feels heavy duty. Screen protector included. Buttons covered but still work. Power and audio ports have covers which open when needed but tuck back to keep out dust and other nasties.CONS: Adds significant weight (late night in-bed reading is more tiresome). No stand. This I knew from the description and photos, but it wants something, because the added weight and bevelled edge means propping it up is not as easy. And the collapsible stand I have is not able to support the added width of my iPad inside the cover.Overall, it's a keeper. I feel safe putting my iPad down in rough surfaces, floors, etc, when work requires it. Haven't had a liquid spill with it yet (and I'm not gonna test it), but I feel like it would buy me enough time to mop it up and save the device (if I can pry the thing off again).4Happy Customer This case is great. I recommend purchasing this case. 5Good substitute for Otterbox DefenderI've started buying this case as it's still being made for the iPad 2's still in service at my work and also one of the few that had a case ready for the new 2017 model iPad. I've found it to be a great replacement/substitute for the Otterbox Defender at half the price (or less). I can't comment as to the long term durability just yet, hence 5 stars, but I've bought more since this one. Realistically it's a "homage" to the Defender.4Super iPad 2 protective cover: Heavy Duty SUPCASEDropped my iPad and cracked the screen, sob. I rely on it for so many things, so will absolutely have it fixed. But first, some type of protector.Too many choices, but the Heavy Duty SUPCASE seemed a good risk, so I ordered. Received it promptly. Difficult to install but read the instructions and got it on. It's a bit awkward compared to the naked device, but it makes me feel much more confident about dragging it every where, so definitely worth the minor difference. I have no worries that if I drop the iPad I'll harm it.Two items kept my review from a 5:-- I'd advise instructing people to use a very thin screwdriver or something similar to help install. The cover is extremely close-fitting and I could not have completed application otherwise.--The tab covering the power connection is extremely awkward and makes it difficult to connect the cable. Am considering removing it as I don't expect the iPad to be wet (although one never knows).4
