Customer Reviews

Great fanThis is the second one I have bought. I bought my first one about 6 months ago. I LOVE this fan. Easy to use and easy to charge. When I am home I sometimes carry it from room to room to give my a/c some help in this Texas heat. When I will be stationary for a while, I plug it into a USB cable to charge it while I am using it. It is very powerful as a personal fan. When I go camping I take it with me. I can use it at night and then plug it in to recharge it while I am heading to my next campground. As I usually spend one night at a campground and then head down the road again, I haven't tried recharging it with my solar charger. Definitely recommend.5Small, effective, rechargeable, fair price, fast shippingBattery life was quite reasonable. Uses same size rechargeable batteries as my vape. I use it in packed RV fridge to equalize temp and in reg fridge when I'm drying the skin of a dry-brined bird. Makes it crispy w/o drying the meat.I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.5Whoa.I bought this fan primarily for running on the treadmill and I was not expecting it to be that effective...but hey, it would be better than no fan at all, right? In short, WHOA.This fan totally BLOWS - it feels like it moves more air than my Vornado Flippi V8 desktop fan...probably because the airflow is much more concentrated. On just one 18650 battery that came supplied with it, the fan ran for the 60 minutes that I'd spent running and still had decent charge left over afterwards (at about 3.79V, compared to ~4.15V when fully charged for standard 18650 Lithium ions). Better still, the fan even runs off of USB power alone, so if you have a large capacity battery-pack you don't even need an 18650 battery inside it: you could just plug it in and run it for a LONG time! It will also charge the battery while running on high off USB, if you'd like.I then took it to the San Diego Safari Park, and even though I was wearing a vest and a long-sleeved shirt, by afternoon when it was about 75F my buddies were starting to drench, but I had all my gear on with the fan running and I didn't even break a sweat! Towards the end of the day my friends were starting to fight over this simple $20 gadget, which they ALL wish they had. Furthermore, this thing is small and light...so light that if you leave it on high sitting on the table, it could almost blow itself over. It won't sitting by itself, but if you nudge it just slightly on a table when on high, it'll blow itself over...that's how strong it is. That being said, carrying it around when hiking or just strolling through some amusement parks won't be an issue at all.For $20 bucks I'd highly recommend it! Also, there are cheaper alternative versions of this brand selling with a lower capacity battery. I'd say do yourself a favor and get this version which comes with a high-quality Samsung 18650 rated at about 2200-2400 mAh. It'll last many more recharge cycles, not to mention a couple of more minutes when you really need it. I have a bunch of Panasonic 18650s rated at 3400 mAh for my flashlights, and with one of those in it I've never complained about battery life. On a technical note, the fan will accept both flat-top and button-top 18650 batteries (there are two types), due to its spring on the negative terminal. Again, the fan totally "blows!"5Strong and easy to positionGot it for work (oil rig logging unit). Surprising amount of strength, and battery is nice for when you can't plug in.Only complaint is that the A/C adapter fried from extended use, but I am not faulting the manufacturer since the logging unit's electricity behaves oddly (not made in USA, so I think the hz are off from what it should be).The pleasantly surprised carabiner (check the contents list) included was actually a nice touch. I guess the intended purpose is to attach it on the exterior of a backpack or satchel, but it allowed me to hang it from a wall monitor cable.5The STRONGEST Mini Fan of ALL....WOW!!! A mini portable fan that actually puts out ALOT of air! I have the Travelon and the 02Cool personal necklace fans....They are so weak you have to put the fans 2 inches from your face....Not the INNOBAY! It takes an 18650 battery which it comes with but you can use any you may already have! Just BUY this fan!!It can be charged via its USB port which is great! But since I am also a flashlight buff I have alot of 18650 batteries and a charger so I just charge them and put them in the fan. I carry spare batteries with me since I do not like the hot humid summers here in New York. I work in the subway tunnels and its probably about 115 degrees down there...These fans are a LIFE SAVER!If you need a great powerful portable fan which is very tiny also then look no MORE! I only wish I had found this years ago! I have bought 8 more to be gifted to friends and relatives....A long review......But I am passionate about staying cool at work.....Alot of times I am blinded at work because of the sweat dripping into my eyes.....No more with this incredible fan which is 10 times stronger than any AA powered mini fan.....including the O2Cool....which is pathetic....Thank You Innobay!!! Ingenious Fan!!! I will buy it for all members of my family.....including the rabbits and dogs....5Big things DO come in small packages! With Prime membership, I got this right away and on time! This is a very small fan, but boy is it powerful! Not too much to the instructions, namely how to put in battery, plug in USB, etc. Not even pictures or illustrations in this regard. But that wasn't an issue for me, while it may be for others not too savvy with electronics. That being said, I bought two fans. One to place near my cable modem and one near my wi-fi router, to help keep both pieces of hardware cool. The highest speed (1) is really powerful. It is nice that it is rechargeable and USB powered, as I can plug into the computer for power or to charge. I only got this a day ago, and will do a follow up on performance later. My only concern is the battery. I have never seen a battery like this before and hope that I can find a replacement one (if needed) online in the future. But so far, very good product. 5Don't agonize over the choices ... just buy it.I could not be happier than my purchase of this fan. I agonized over my selection for a couple weeks and made my choice primarily based upon reviews. It is a nice compact unit that will fit in a backpack easily enough though my motivation for buying this unit was car camping. It is lightweight due to the rechargeable lithium battery. This not only solved the weight issue but also the guilt of disposing of more conventional batteries. I do wish it had a recharging cord for AC, but it uses a USB port charger instead. I am sure this serves most people very well but I am not very tech savvy. I am sure I can come up with a converter for wall or car or both. The absolute best feature is of course the fan output. Honestly, on low it will be fine for a sleeping aid which is my prime need. On medium it is quite powerful and I can't see that I will ever need it on high speed for my purposes.I liked the unit so well that I decided to buy extra batteries. The evening after I received this fan I went on Amazon to buy batteries and I ended up buying batteries, a charger and another fan. I like the idea of having an extra one and plan on keeping one in the car and one in the truck.5Always stop workingI have bought quite a few of these fans because they re great for using while bowling. However every one of them have just stop working after about 7 months of ocassional use. I m just ordered another one, (I know crazy me). Because I really like them when they re working. I feel I deserve a compensation for them not working very long. Please call me to discuss. Thanks Patricia Ford a long time Prime holder.1Personal Summer FanI am going through my own Personal summer ( Hot flashes) this is my second purchase of this fan because my grandson threw it hard on the concrete it still almost work, but was unable to secure the fan back to post. This fan has been around the world and back with me, I took on a trip to Japan for almost month. When on the plane and you are sitting and waiting on the air to turn o, it was fantastic. The charge is awesome it will last long compared to the speed you use. You don't need to use it all the time on high its that powerful. It was great to use with the attach light, come in handy late at night or even in your purse. It small enough for portability. I don't leave home with out it. My hot flashes have increased even more over the last year and it's been my go to fan. I never endorse but women ask me all the time when and where. I purchased it at the $15- $20 price range. The only cons are it moves around on high speed if on a smooth surface and after depressing my button so much the front panel on the edge lefts a little, but can be repair with super glue. Love this fan!!!!5Pushes out a lot of air in a small packageSmall fan that packs a punch.I bought a fan just like this from a trade show 4 years ago. Fan lasted about 3 years, but eventually it would rattle. I'm assuming this is due to a sleeve-based design, but the overall design of the fan looked EXACTLY like this. Plastic didn't have a matte finish, but it pushed out a *lot* of air. Costed me $30 to get it at that time. That fan finally gave up the ghost a couple months ago, and I've tried all sorts of alternatives, but no alternative matches this fan.You know those floor-mounted vornadoes that are kind of small, but shoot out a TON of air? This is the USB mini version of it. There are other companies that make this fan, but innobay seems like it's trying to be like its rival Opolar when it comes to fans - better documentation, better support, higher quality products and better quality control. This thing didn't feel as cheap as the previous version of this product I had that didn't even have a name on it.This fan's "low" setting is the high setting on a lot of other desktop USB fans in this price range. But on medium it already pushes out a crazy amount of air, way more CFM in a compact package. On high it's REALLY loud, but it brute-force throws out a ton of air. None of its competition can output the kind of air this does on high.So what's the downside to this? It's loud on medium and high. On low it's gentle white noise but on medium and high it's a pretty loud hum, but that's physics for you - smaller fans that output more air will be louder. That's all there is to it. Any attempts at sound insulation in its design would increase the cost of this fan. Personally, on medium, with the fan about one foot away from my arm I can tolerate the sound - I'd say it's about 40 decibels (I don't have a sound measuring devvice), but the concentrated air burst makes it so it cools only where I need it (my arms and hands). Its tiny size makes it easy to relocate it.You also can charge the battery (included) for this fan while running it on high. Opolar's equivalent of this fan does not let you do it and it's by design. They claim they can't do it due to voltage limitations but I've had zero problems keeping the battery for this fan charged while running it.If you need spot cooling and don't mindthe noise, get this fan. It may not look that slick, but it gets the job done and it punches above its weight and value class.5Nice fan, moves a lot of air. Comes with a quality battery. This review is written for the Innobay 18650 fan sold by JapanQuality and no other item. I have a different review for another fan like this by another company and it's different.I ordered this fan after having problems with the Xcellent Global version. This fan comes with a real Samsung battery instead of a pair of no name, bad quality batteries. I have other 18650 cells and devices that use them, so for me it's no big deal. I'd rather have one quality battery than a pair that always seem to have one that's bad. This fan gets used daily and has been flawless in it's operation. Don't let it's size fool you, it moves a lot of air. The battery is quick and easy to change out. I don't use the built in charger, I have other chargers that do a better & quicker job. I used an Xtar USB voltage detector on the built in charger to check it. It charges a .75 amp for those that are curious. I let the fan run several times until it quit. As soon as it shut off I pulled the battery and checked with a multimeter. It read between 3.0 - 3.1 volts. I installed a fresh battery and checked it again. Same thing. I got the same result regardless of the brand or capacity of the cell. Cells used were the Samsung 26J that it came with, a couple Samsung 30Q cells, a couple LG MJ1 cells, and even a couple of recovered cells from disassembled laptop batteries. 3.0 volts is as low as you want to discharge a Li-ion cell. Much farther and you can damage the cell. It's good to know this fan will stop before that happens.I would like to see a 6-8" version of this fan. The 18650 battery has so much potential. Right now it's under utilized, but products like this & the little radios, work lights, solar lights, etc are starting to change that.5Great fan for the price and its size Great fan for the price and its size. Moves a surprising amount of air on high, and battery life was as advertised, ran well over 2 hours on high, didn't time exactly on low, but it was AT LEAST 6 hours (if not the full 8 advertised). It does worry me a bit while charging, it gets VERY hot, also heats up my quality name brand 2amp power brick, so it seems to be drawing an awful lot of current on charging, would have been nice if it current limited the charging some, I would prefer a slower cooler charge, rather than worrying about it bursting into flames, for this I am taking off a star. I might buy a quality external battery charger (and spare battery) and use that instead. 4
