Customer Reviews

Well U get what U paid for. I've had worst, so it's not to bad I guess.Been working alright for me I guess. I have to be completely still basically, otherwise I get static sounds in my headphones. Like the hole is just a tad to big for a standard size jack to fit in it tight/snugged. Not the jack itself, where U would plug your headphones into it. Likes to spin around easily causing the static sounds. I wouldn't exactly say it's high quality either, that's more based on the jack your plugging into if U ask me. it's just a regular el cheapo. Don't let the gold plated finish fool yea too, it's already fading off of mine. but Overall for what I paid for it, I'd be rude to give it one or two stars. I cant expect much for what I paid for it. it still works. But honestly, U should look into a slightly better one if U move around alot, or don't like that fact the color is gonna fade on yea within a couple of months of using it. Don't bother in trying to use it as a adapter for a guitar wire too or something. You'll get alot of buzzing sounds through your amp as it wasn't made for that use. I mean it's not bad, but don't expect to do any recording with it. Doesn't properly ground itself very well to equipment like guitars, amps, etc. I would NOT recommend using it for high outputs to anything, Jack will get hot, probably why the color has faded on me a little. Hoped this review helped a little.3Overkill on quality for me, but whats $2? Materials matter on quality setups where any loss is noticed- this is it's best use.As expected. Works well. I think I might have be able to find something that works equally for my needs at a lower cost, five or six bucks shouldn't kill you though; and I think it would be dumb to possibly sacrifice sound quality for a couple of bucks- an adapter should not be your weakest link. It has shiny gold color finish (I think brass?) on the outside entire and inside connection points (which seem to have plenty of surface area and a decent quality plastic separator from the casing- I shined a light down to check). I wish it were black exterior, but the gold finish does suggest quality and maybe you're in to that bling look. I bought this to replace an old bent one with silver connections (aluminum?) that caused buzzing. I have to remember to be careful getting up from my desk with headphones on, this one seems just as susceptible to being bent that way. I couldn't notice any degradation or enhancement in sound quality from my memory of the old one (when it was in proper condition). Sound is perfect to my unrefined ears- I use it with these over ear headphones https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001FTVDG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I would recommend this unless your input or output devices are already low quality- then I'd recommend a cheaper adapter. Reasonable shipping, sufficient packaging, and easy purchase as usual on Amazon.5Update - Excellent Customer ServiceUpdate: The first adapter I received was static-y and ill fitting, and I reviewed it as such. The same day I posted my review I received a phone call from the seller, wanting to know what they could do to make things right. They offered to send a replacement adapter at no cost. Today I received not one but two replacements. Both work just fine. For Customer Service, I would rank the seller with 5+ stars. The adapter itself is a solid four stars; for the price, and including the customer service, I don't think you could find a better deal on the web. I will definitely remember this seller and buy with confidence from them in the future.4PLASTIC KNOCKOFFThe description leads you to believe the entire product is "all metal", it's not. It's currently working but I expect at some point like another reviewer stated, the contacts will collapse at which time I'll likely pick up some 1/4 jack AKG style headphones to avoid the walkman toy jack altogether. If you want an all metal one search just that and note the plating colors and the length of the socket. To 5star reviewer andrew: you either have no concept of "quality" or have a stake in the manufacturer. Since you give full description of all products involved and mention "imba price" twice I have to assume the latter is true. To another confused 5 star reviewer: you wont soon find your plastic retainer tarnishing.1Not my first choice but the price was rightMy use for this adapter was to connect my headphones, which have a 1/4" jack, into my laptop. It was s somewhat bulky way to do it but it worked. My laptop often gets knocked around so the long, hard adapter eventually got bent where it meets the laptop. I've since moved onto an adapter which has the small 1/8" male end connected by 3" of wire, to the 1/4" female end. That's made a huge difference! The laptop still gets knocked around but the small male part usually stays put - no sign of damage. However, this is still reasonably priced so 4 out of 5 stars for "Value for money". If you're not in an active environment, this will work fine. If you need something more durable, for this application, really consider a wired adapter.3contact spacing is wrongThe one I received is longer in length than the one in the Amazon illustration photos. When I push the headphone jack into the adapter until it's fully seated the music sounds like it's being played thru a long hollow tunnel. If I pull it out a bit, and jiggle it a little, then I hear proper stereo. So it would seem the inner contact spacing is incorrect on this adapter. The headphones and headphone cable I used are Sony, so I'm pretty sure the contact spacing there is the universal standard, and the contact spacing on this adapter is wrong.Based on my experience with this product, I cannot recommend it.1The Goldiest Platiest Adapterist Adapter Out ThereThis adapter is so good at being an adapter that I don't even know where to start.First of all, if you're a 1/8" stereo plug looking to adapt to this crazy new 1/4" world, then your life just got quite a bit easier. You'll look stylish while doing it too, as the gold plating will make all of the ladies in the neighborhood tilt their heads in awe and divorce their mono husbands for the new, much more dynamic, you.I felt like P-Diddy plugging this bling into my mixer. I then cried tears of horrible shame when I realized that I will never be a rap mogul, no matter how many gold plated items I buy. Why is this world so cruel? Why do we do this to ourselves? Why do we elevate people to the highest pedestals just for wrapping themselves up in gold like King Tutankhamen and spitting out sweet rhymes? At least in times like these, we can take solace in the fact that for just a few bucks you can be just like them for a few glorious seconds.5Trust the other 1 star reviews.I'd hoped some of the negative reviews were wrong, but this adapter fails just like all the one star reviews have said. The internal connection points are VERY poorly manufactured, leading to a loose connection with either huge amounts of static or simply no sound at all. Surprisingly even the male connection portion is incorrectly sized, it will not fit all the way into the headphone port on three different devices of mine. This is a waste right out of the box.1P.O.S.One month to the day since it arrived and its already useless, so i cant return it. I have to rotate the thing like an entena to find the sweet spot where my headphones get audio through both cups, rather than left or right1Good product with a tiny tweak.Works great. Was experiencing some crackling issues and d/c on one ear of headphones if they were moved or jiggled but it was a quick and easy fix. Had to bend the contacts inward a bit to make a good connection to my headphones but NBD. I recommend doing this asap if you're hearing any of the issues associated with poor connection. Just grab a tiny screwdriver, thick sewing needle, paper clip, w/e, etc. and tweak the contacts in slightly, and enjoy your new adapter, rather than get angry at it before fixing it. ;)Good price, quick ship, just what I needed.4
