Customer Reviews

It was like an old animal with developing arthritisMy 7 year old mouse for my Mac desktop finally gave up last month after a steady decline of the scroll button failing to move screens up and down, even with frequent cleanings and TLC. It was like an old animal with developing arthritis. I certainly did not want to pay $40-$50 for a new one from Apple. So in looking at the choices on Amazon, I finally chose the IHome white mouse which had fairly high recommendations from reviewers. So after purchasing this mouse for less than $20, and having used it for over a month now, I can report confidently that it is a wonderful replacement. I knew from the specs that it would NOT SCROLL sideways, but my daily browsing hardly ever requires side-to-side scrolling, so I am most happy. I actually like the fit of this mouse and scrolling button to my hand better than the original Apple mouse. It scrolls flawlessly and the left/right click buttons make a soft but audible noise. It is white that matches my Mac. It was absolutely an easy plug and play when I received and first used it. Buy it - you won't be disappointed.By Jim M5Good, Solid Bluetooth MouseI've only been using this for a couple of days, but I'm a software developer, so that means about 20 hours of use :-)The mouse paired easily with my MacbookPro running Mavericks.Unlike some previous reviewers, I thought that the battery door was pretty obvious, but I did have a slightly difficult time getting it opened. Also, unlike some previous reviewers, I did not find the mouse slow to wake up - simply moving the mouse a bit, or pressing the center button seems to wake it right up.Overall, I'm happy with it. It's a good ambidextrous design (I'm left-handed), and just works. My only negatives are that it is both lighter and smaller than standard corded mouse - I'd prefer it have a little more weight. But, it works great, and is only slightly more than 1/3 the price of Apple's Magic Mouse.4Wow!The wired mouse that came with my iMac worked well for a very long time. Cleaning the scroll ball and occasionally replacing the mouse pad was all it needed to keep going with optimum performance. Then things went downhill...the scroll ball began working sporadically at best, controlling the cursor became a challenge, and the mouse ran like a duck pulling a wagon instead of like the speedy little gizmo I remembered. I'm sure it's collected some dirt and dust internally that probably are responsible but the design does not lend itself to being opened for self-maintenance so that was a dead end. I don't care much for wireless mice and the Apple brand can be pricey for a replacement so thought I'd take a chance on the iHome offer I found on Amazon. Was surprised that all I had to do was plug it in right out of the box. It was super reactive and sensitive to the degree that I had to go into preferences and slow the settings down a notch! It's a tad smaller than its predecessor and I thought that might be a distraction but within minutes, I no longer noticed. I could not be more pleased.5Inexpensive mouse for iMac I was so pleased to find an inexpensive wired mouse that works with iMac. I love my Apple products but their products can be quite expensive for what it is. My wife didn't like the Magic Trackpad so I needed a mouse, but didn't want to spend $50 for the basic Apple wired mouse. My only thought about this mouse is I wish it were a little heavier so it felt like there was something there, but it doesn't affect performance at all. I like it. 5Works with my IMac computer I just received my IHOME wiresless mouse. I took it out of the box, put in the batteries. laid i down in from of the computer and within minutes it was connected. The magic trackpad that came with my 10.10.4 computer tires my fingers. I like a mouse with a finger button and one i can rest my hand on. My old mouse works with my new computer but it did not have a button either. And the IMac new magic mouse is tiring also. So i am very much pleased with this IHOME wireless mouse. The only down side is, it is a little jumping so I use it on a mouse pad and that helps to slow it down. Other than that i am very happy with it. But now I have 3 mice. I may soon need a cage. 5Sometimes a simple wired mouse is best!I am so happy I got a wired mouse that is compatible with Mac. Everyone gets so excited about "wireless" technology without thinking about the downsides such as "how do I control my mac if my mouse runs out of batteries or fails to connect." I never have to worry about that now. I have had many wireless mice? over the years and most recently started using the Apple Trackpad again because the last wired mouse I had was to small (I had gotten it as a gift for getting a bank account for my daughter sooooo). I am pretty sure the Trackpad is causing increased pain to my wrist and elbow because I am on the computer all the time and it is just not ergonomically designed for me.5Dont waste your money on $100 plus mouses or is it mice or is it Meices???I bought one of these 2 months ago.Got tired of buys $80 Mighty Mouse from apple that would stop scrolling and is impossible to fix in a few months.I do not need, nor do I want my mouse to do 50 different things, left click, right click and scroll and I am good.I only have two complaints....1) The mouse is too light in my opinion. Its easily moved around... 2) While the mouse cord is LONG and thats good it is too stiff... Its on my desk with a ball of wire that will not settle down even if I put it under a hot lamp.UPDATE- (1) ---12-3-18...... Still using these mice? or is it Mouses. I would have burned through another MIGHTY MOUSE by now. Got use to the light weight.UPDATE- (2) ---12-3-18... The cord is a little on the heavy duty side BUT that's a good thing I see now that my new Kitten CAN NOT CHEW through it like a lighter cord! like he did on a lighter one! I guess I got a mouser......5Great!Honestly, it was better than I expected. I wanted something affordable and something to use via bluetooth. Most bluetooth mouses were rechargeable but that defeats the purpose a little doesnt it?This mouse was by far the best choice on Amazon regarding the price, product usability, and durability. Its very minimalistic and you can adjust it to your liking.Getting access to the batteries was a little tricky but I knew that coming into it. It was basically my only concern but once you figure it out, youre good to go. To open it, when you are pressing the button, make sure you are holding the mouse upside down so you are not holding the cover down on the bottom outer side.5Works with MacPro and IPad Pro IOS13Less expensive than an Apple mouse and works with no problems. I use it on my MacPro and now it works with IOS13 on my IPad Pro. The mouse will not connect to both devices at the same time so you will have to remove the mouse from the Mac, reboot the IPad, then connect. The bluetooth settings are located under the Accessibility/Touch/AssistiveTouch menu on the IPad. The Accessibility button stays on the screen but I set it to very opaque so it barely shows unless I m using it, which I do access while using the mouse.5Adequate for the TasksI was about to give this mouse a 1-star rating. It has a scroll wheel that's ratcheted, which I assumed would allow for fine tuned scrolling or zooming. Well, it wouldn't work. I actually had to just about spin the wheel to get the window to scroll and the amount of movement was random. About a week later, though, it started working, so I can now scroll/zoom by rotating the wheel one ractchet at a time. In some apps I can also scroll right to left, but not in all. I don't know what got it to start working, but I've been using it for a couple of months, now without any problems. It's adequate for the job, and is the closest substitute for the Apple mouse in which its rollerball continues to get gunked up, is a chore to clean, and the rim strip around the base usually breaks when trying to remove it. Apple needs to come up with a better design. Until then, the iHome mouse does get the job done for a low price.3Great mouse for a Mac used by kids!I bought this mouse as a replacement for my Magic Mouse to use with my kids iMac. We have converted to all Macs over the last few years and we love them, but older iMac that my kids use always seems to get some water or juice spilled on the mouse and keyboard. Eventually the Magic Mouse died and the iMac was locked so there was no way to connect a different bluetooth mouse to it. I bought this to be able to unlock the computer and then decided that it works well enough for a cheap enough price that I will just leave it on there computer instead of risking another $80 mouse. It is not as well made as an apple mouse of course, but it is still working perfectly after several months so I am happy with my purchase. I would recommend it.4Nice, attractive, inexpensive mouse - only downside is you can't scroll sideways with the scroll ballI like this mouse. I bought it because the scroll ball on my Apple mouse could only scroll down, not up (when that happens, you can roll it over paper to clean it and that will fix it for awhile, but eventually mine broke completely). This new mouse is a bit loud when clicking and scrolling, but I actually prefer that to a completely silent mouse. My only slight complaint about this mouse is that the scroll ball only rolls up and down, so you can't scroll sideways in documents or on a webpage. You can tell that from the picture but it didn't occur to me how often I actually did that with my Apple mouse and now I can't do it. It's not the end of the world, just wanted to point that out in case someone else didn't think of it too. Otherwise it seems to work well and is nice enough looking. I've only had it for one day so I can't speak to how durable it is yet.Edit: I found a workaround for the sideways scrolling issue - if you hold down the Shift key while rolling the rollerball, you can scroll sideways! This only works if you're on a page or document that has content off the side of the page. I have a Mac and live in the US so this may work differently on other keyboards.4
