Customer Reviews

Filter Good filter, use Hoya on about all my lens anymore! 5Excellent products from Hoya. I have been using Hoya filters for many, many years and have never had an issue with any of the ones I used. They are excellent and good value for the money. 5I'll stick with B+W next time... I've always bought B+W and was just kind of downsizing my kit and expenditures and thought I'd try Hoya's and save some money.I just bought four Hoya filters for my new lenses and I'm going to keep them but, honestly, if I had to do it over again, I'd be spending a few more bucks on the B+W's. I am simply seeing issues on the surfaces that I seem to get cleaned up but also not understanding why they are there in the first place. Little dots, swirrels... very minor but they are there. It's a bit weird to me. Nothing that "should" affect a photo but also never issues I saw and dealt with on all of the B+W's I've owned, and I've owned a lot. For a few more bucks I suspect B+W has the QC process down a bit better than Hoya. 3Less reflective aberrations that wit most other UV filters. I primarily use a UV filter to protect the lens coatings of my prime (and non-prime) lenses. True, that the addition of any lens enhancing filter will decrease the quality of the image the CCD receives, but with this filter, it is minimal. Be cautious, though, because this filter also appears to be coated to reduce reflections. I would stay away from solvent base lens cleaners and try to just blow off dust and impurities if possible. Although a pain, it makes a good case for the use of a lens cap/cover. The filter does, of course, alter the effect of UV light on your image. 5Lens protection This product does what it is supposed to. The glass appears to be excellent, and the filter threads onto the lens easily. High quality and reasonable price. 5Well made and work as intended These uvfs get the job done and are a good value 5Inexpensive protection Most DSLRs these days can handle UV light so the need for a UV filter is not what it was in the days of film. I do use these on my lenses simply for protection from dust and scratches. It's a bit of a nuisance to have to take it off when I want to use a polarizer or neutral density filter, but it beats getting a scratch on an expensive lens from a bit of dust or a brush with a branch! Be careful not to tighten this or any similar filter too tight. The rims are aluminum, or similar metal, and are more apt to stick than the more expensive brass. 4As Described. Does What It's Supposed to Do Fits. Threads are well machined. The glass passes the multi coat visual inspection test. 4Five Stars Nice Hoya filter in great condition 5Crystal Clear It's honestly the first filter that I've ever actually used/stuck with, you can barely see the glass unless you shine bright lights at extreme angles it looks invisible, in my Photography II class we legitimately all looked at our respective filters and the Hoya hands down looked the clearest, two people didn't think the lens was actually covered because it really is that clear. 5
