Customer Reviews

Nice bright LED strip. LED strips are good, bright and even. I found the strip connectors sold separately for these didn't work very well so I ended up soldering the connections between strips. If you only use a single whole continuous strip (or multiple full strips) you won't have this issue. I used the Hitlights dimmable drivers for these and with that solution these dim very nicely from a standard 110V dimmer. The color temperature was a bit cooler than I expected for 4000K (but I don't have a good comparison) . 4Overall works well These were the cheapest option I could find to light 8 shelves in 2 foot sections. As noted in other reviews, the tape doesn't really hold. I was using these in 2 foot strips on an inner lip of some shelving and it seemed to hold initially, but fell down in places overnight. I ended up trying some gaffer tape to hide the wires, but may need to use something else to really secure this. I also was unable to connect the solder-less wiring I bought because the plastic gets in the way of the nearest LED. However, with a little solder, it was easy to connect them (I just wish I had bought some cheaper wire if I knew I was going to be soldering all of the connections anyway...).One problem I had initially was the package was labeled for "regular density" not "high density". However, after counting the number of LEDs in a foot, I found that I did have the correct product. 4Final result is good, but the installation was a pain. Bought this for to use as under cabinet lighting in the kitchen of our new build. Wanted a strip that is easily cuttable since we have four different separate sections of cabinets. Our electrician, who installed it, had a lot of trouble using the Strip Connectors (HitLights LED Strip Connector Extensions). It took him more than 3 hours to complete the job. The LEDs were too close the cuttable section, making it hard to put on the connector. the connector itself was not always secure, making the LEDs to flicker, which he needed to reinforce. The adhesive backing was not strong enough, so we had to use stronger double sided foam adhesive. After the job was finally done, the lights are beautiful. 3Super Bright & easy to install! My wife and I were looking into LED lights for her vanity setup for quite some time! We found these and decoded to take the chance. Long story short, we made the right choice! Installation was super simple, just clean the surface area and pull back the tape and stick wherever you want. The adhesive is very strong and didn t come off during installation. The brightness of these small individual lights is very impressive the strip by themselves are enough to light up the entire bathroom. My wife is very happy how it turned out! Definitely recommend this product!54100KProduct description says 4000K color temp, packaging says 4100K. Not a big deal, but it's worth noting that these are not quite the same as other 4000K strips. Warm white version (3000K) is said to be regular density whereas these are labelled high density, but they both have the same number of LEDs (600 in 5m=16ft). Lower power draw than expected if you connect only one end, but manufacturer told me (for another of their products) that the copper in the strip is too thin to supply current to the entire strip. Cut it into chunks and use at least 14 gauge wire to connect the chunks if you want max current and max brightness. Otherwise the far end will be dimmer!TEST: I connected a 20A supply to one end of the strip and measured 2.8A with a low-resistance high-capacity meter. Then I connected the other end and current rose to 3.8A. That's 34 watts vs. 46 watts and the spec is 44 watts. You have to make a connection at least every 8 ft to get the full spec brightness. Believe me, it's VERY noticeable when you add the second connection. That probably explains the mixed reviews because some people plug one strip into another like christmas tree lights and that's a total fail.4Please Read This Before Ordering!!!We ordered these high density lights for our kitchen cabinets, open uppers and underneath the lower cabinets on two different walls. The lights are beautiful and put off a tremendous amount of light - so much so that we don't really need to have regular kitchen lights on when these are plugged in! Unfortunately, what should have taken a matter of a few minutes to have these up and working, turned out to be days and days of working on them every night after work for hours each night. We also ordered what Amazon recommended to go with these for a "complete package," including the 24 watt plug in and light strip connectors in varying lengths. After the 2nd night of trying to make these work, we called HitLights and spoke with Ron (whom we now refer to as Ron the WonderMan, for his valiant efforts to fix the issues). First off, the connectors leave much to be desired, so if you cut the light strip to use a connector you are basically setting yourself up for potential failure. All other reviewers that say the connectors don't work well are correct. It has to do with the plastic ends on them and if opened more than once or twice, well, that's it. My husband, very knowledgeable about this stuff, even soldered the wiring to the strip connectors and it made very little to no difference. Secondly, on the 3rd night of failed attempts at success, my husband reaches over to unplug the power supply and it's hot as blazes! By now we have Ron on speed-dial, so he explains that we need the 60 watt power supply to run with high density lights, not what we ordered (the amazon recommendation). Long story short - do yourself a huge favor and call HitLights if you are wondering at all what you need to go with what! (We suggested to Ron that he supply amazon with information about what goes with what, and we think they are including that now with the item description). We are really impressed with Ron and how he took care of us by sending us all new stuff (minus connectors) to make it right (we did not ask him to do this, but he knew we couldn't use what we ordered), and now we have beautiful lights that work. We threw out the connectors altogether and did not cut the new sets he sent us! Huge suggestion: Don't cut the strips! If you have to, though, for your particular application, keep Ron's phone number handy...you may need it! Thanks for reading!!4Brighter than expected, perfect color temperature for kitchens.I purchased this to replace some older puck style lights under my cabinets and I'm impressed by the color and the brightness of the lights. It's not too cold, not too warm, just a bright white light. On top of my cabinets, I've been adding the multi color LED's, but that's a work in progress. I used a single strip under the cabinets, but use three rows under the sink. What you see in the picture is about 25 feet of the stuff. It's the brightest and most cost effective thing I've found so far for under cabinet lighting.5Great for task lighting and adding ambient lightThe 4000K, 3258 LED strip lights work as advertised. They are packaged well to prevent damage during shipment, unrolled cleanly and I've noticed only the slightest hint of delay when switching them on - but much less than some other LED fixtures I have. These will work perfectly for accent or added ambient lighting, recessed ceilings etc.Keep in mind that each 1 ft of the strip is only 164 lumens so this is good for under kitchen cabinets but not over unless you just want to add some ambient light to the room. This was not our goal. We wanted to brighten our dimly lit kitchen to the point of needing sunglasses. While the 600 LED/meter is the brighter option it is no match for the 12", 900 lumen LED bars we currently have above the cabinets (my failure in research) so we will be re-purposing the strip lighting to something else because they are too good to return. I hooked them up under my daughter's loft bed briefly and they lit her little reading area beautifully. All in all, I purchased a 12V DC power supply, inline rocker switch and an extension cable to keep the switch accessible since the connection from the strip to the power supply cord is less than a foot.Pros:Very easy setup once you understand how to power them and what kind of switch you can useBright and very low profileUL listed4000K is a very comfortable cool white - not surgery suite whiteCons:Tends to twist as it comes off the reel and I was concerned about potentially damaging the strip - but they seem to be okay.Would recommend for task lighting, recessed areas, small spaces, and for adding ambient lighting where needed.5Extremely pleased with this product. I never leave reviews but due to the confusion and multiple choices in LED strip lighting I felt the need. I was extremely skeptical about purchasing this product and had all but convinced myself that I needed to go with the more expensive Flexfire LED product. One of my big concerns was installing something electrical into my home that did not have a UL listing, as a contractor I know better because if anything ever happened because of this product and insurance companies where to be involved things could get dicey. This product is UL listed, stamped on the LED strips and a tag on the feeds. This product was extremely easy to install, I chose to solder connections which have a slight learning curve but I could fabricate on the counter tops and then install. When soldering sections together I used 18 gauge stranded wire and tinned the leads (touch wire with solder) and I just lightly touched the small round + or - circle with a drop of solder on iron until solder left small dot on circle. Take the tinned 18 gauge wire and rest on top of small dot of solder on + or - circle and then just touch soldering iron to the top of wire for a second and wire will firmly solder and make a solid connection. One big key is to also wipe down the area with denatured alcohol, lacquer thinner, to ensure proper adhesion. One reason I almost didn't buy the product was because there where many reviews saying there was adhesive problems, adhesive backing so far has been absolutely perfect, no releasing, no sagging. This product has been in for over two weeks and my gal and I couldn't be happier, it is set on a dimmer and can be as bright or as dim as we wish. I usually shy away from less expensive products because I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for 5Excellent upgrade for RV lightingI got these lights with the hope that I would be happy with them. I am. Previous rolls I had purchased weren't bad, but not as bright, and had a cooler tint that made things look... not as nice. I got these to upgrade the lighting in my RV. Seeing that all the light fixtures in the RV are 12v, these work without needing any power adapters. I retrofitted the fluorescent fixtures to work with these lights. 1 strip = 1 fluorescent tube. The result is a slightly brighter light with a more aesthetically pleasing light quality. These are neither cool white nor warm white, but sit right in a nice spot that is neither too blue nor too yellow. A very nice neutral color. In the first picture, the left fixture is retrofitted with these LED's while the right fixture is original fluorescent. The second picture shows the inside of the LED retrofit. I used the original reflector - just adhering them directly to the reflector. The third is the original fixture for comparison. I did not use clips. Rather, I soldered the wiring directly to the strips. It's pretty easy if you're handy with a soldering iron.5The 4000k light strip made my china look perfect! These dim very well.I love the 4000k color of this light strip. See posted picture to see how great it made my china look. The Hitlights 3000k were too yellow so I pulled those out of the cabinet and replaced with the 4000k. In my posted picture you can see the lights dimmed to about half brightness.5 products were bought to complete this project:1) HitLights Neutral White LED Light Strip, Premium High Density 3528 - 16.4 Feet, 600 LEDs, 4000K, 164 Lumens per Foot. Be aware of the connectors if cutting to fit!I like these and they worked out very well for me.But I lucked out and happened to order the exact connectors I needed. Be aware that the high density 600 LED tapes need a particular connector with a little notch in the flip top end so you can get the connector clip closed! There are so many tightly packed LEDs on these strips that there is very little space between the LED and the cut line. I needed only one 90-degree clip to finish my project and spent maybe an hour surfing Amazon trying to find some with the notch without luck. I figured I would buy some low density 90s and see if they could be made to work with a dremel or something.... They cant, they are too flimsy.I was able to use some connectors from the kit I bought and strip the clips from the low density 90s to get it all working and looking good. This is the kit to purchase, it appears to be the only one with the little notch but doesn't include any 90s.....HitLights LED Strip Connector 2Pin 8mm LED Connector Kit Include Solderless Gapless Connector, 6Inch Jumper Connector, DC Female and Connector, DC Jack Splitter for 3528 5050 LED Strip5easy to use, bright light per foot - a great buyThese are not inexpensive lighting rolls, but they are quality lighting at a very good price. The 3M adhesive is strong and holds well on the metal baking plates I have in my fixtures. The strip easily cuts to length. The light is a pleasing 4000k color so mot a warm white, not a more harsh daylight either. A true white light and color rendition is great in our application. I'm on my second roll and will probably get a third before the replacement of 12V fluorescent lamps is finished. The first roll is in use for about 6 months now and no issues at all.5
