Customer Reviews

Do you smell what the rock is hiding?"Looks like real rock." Sort of."Feels like real rock." Not so much. They do the job. I may or may not be a dingleberry in that I sometimes lock myself out of my house on my way to work early in the morning; these save me from embarrassing myself, waking a poor soul up to let me back in. They don't just hide my house key, they hide my shame!3Great buy Neighbor loses her keys on the reg. At least now she won't have to break down her door again. That was nuts.I actually got one of these for myself last year, and upon someone needing to get in, they found that the keys has oxidized, so I'd recommend that you put them in a tiny zip lock baggie or something. It's not a water or airtight unit, but it looks good and does its job. 5Good space for keys, looks natural.Fits house keys easily, has a durable bottom (not cardboard)and looks like the rest of my garden. Also giving the second one to my niece as a stocking stuffers for her new home.4Get a Piece of the RockLooks and feels like actual rocks. Very sturdy and dare I say rock-ish. You can't put a pricetag on the piece of mind that comes with the security of knowing my 13 year old won't be locked out because he misplaced his key. Also, an excellent value (2 for $6) for the money.5Definitely worth the purchaseIt does feel exactly like a rock. It's pretty heavy. The package comes with 2 hide a key rocks so it's a great buy for the money. We got it just in case our son arrives home before we do, so he'll be able to access the house (we felt he'd lose the key if we have it to him). And it's perfect. We placed it around a potted plant near our back door so it doesn't look out of place.5Ok Good deal relative to other similar items. However, they're small....it;s likely that they're all small and look like they just barely hold a key. They also don't look all that real. Wish someone would come up with a better mouse trap that works and is reasonably priced. I can buy reading glasses for a buck these days, so why isn't someone offering a better key hider for < $10? 3Great for geocachingI use these to hide a bison tube geocache. They are inexpensive enough that when one goes missing, I don t mind replacing it.I ve got these deployed for two caches, both in high traffic areas. They are easy enough for a passerby to miss, but a geocacher will instantly know they have found their objective.5Worked great to hide clue for scavenger huntI purchased this 2-pack to create a scavenger hunt for my wife. I "hid" the rock outside, in plain sight, in our garden, all dead for the winter. She knew she was looking for some sort of rock and it still took her about 20mins to find it.This looks very realistic and is very easy to hide, it blends right in. Note: the hidden area isn't waterproof, so consider putting your contents in a plastic ziplock if they can't get wet.5Works out so well. These work great. Very pleased with this purchase. Good thing I got them when I did. Cause I never need these before. But locked myself out just the other day. I couldn't believe it. Never thought I would need these but thought I should get them just in case. Who would have thought. But they do work very well. Put the key in a plastic small wrap . Inserted it into the holder. Closed it up. And it was dry when I needed to retrieve it.5Wonderfully obvious!I like the idea but not the execution. The rock definitely doesn't look very real and you can only fit one small key inside. On the bottom the "hide a key" logo is clear as day. The bottom is also just a plastic insert which is obvious when you turn it over.I'm glad it came with two though because I put a key to my shed in one under a bush and then a key to my home in the other that's in my shed. I figured it someone found they key and it didn't unlock the house they might give up and think I changed the locksIn the end it serves its purpose in a very round about way.3EhI purchased this item after my wife got locked out of our house. There are many mixed feelings about the purchase.1) Shipped faster than expected. I am an Amazon Prime member. Although it says "Prime," I was advised it was not coming until a week after I ordered it. However, it did live up to the Prime Standard and was at my doorstep in 2 days.2) Look and Feel = I'm no geologist, but it does not look real to me. And even if it did, the moment I picked it up, I knew it was a fake rock. Not very happy about that.3) The rock itself is not actually shaped like a rock all the way around. The bottom has a flat surface. On the flat surface is a very, very cheap plastic. I say cheap because when I opened the rock and pulled out the piece of plastic, it broke straight away. Not a big deal as I could use tape to keep it closed but just another thing to address that should have been taken care of by manufacturers.4) It does fit 1 key and 1 key only. It could fit 2, but then the cover doesn't fit properly. This is a pain as we have 2 doors with different keysto enhance security.5) I am working on hollowing out my own rock. My own, actual rock. This will work for now.The seller contacted me and asked for my opinion. I provided the review above. They told me to go talk to Amazon about any problems. Ha!3JunkPoor design and weak materials. Cheap to the point of arriving damaged despite being well wrapped. The key is hidden by removing the bottom. The bottom is made of brittle plastic. It was broken on arrival. It's the wrong plastic for this application. The rock look is unlike anything around here so it's easy to spot as being different. It stands out and I don't' think that's a good thing.1
