Customer Reviews

Bad Quality ControlUpdate: I do not recommend this camera/vtx. During a power loop I lost signal at 20ft. By time I got my goggles off I was unable to recover. I opened the quad and found a chip on the PCB had fallen off mid flight. Did a bit of damage to the quad, nothing I can't fix. But this shouldn't have happen. Junk, I am officially done buying ANYTHING R/C related from Amazon and sticking with RaceDayQuads.Used this to replace the broken cam+vtx in my rise indorfin 130 quad I like to bash around. Works perfect and has a better picture than the original cam I had.1SmokedPlugged it in for the first time, 7 segment lights up, look to start figuring out frequency to use and such, and the darn thing starts smoking. Literally never used it, first time plugging it in, and using a nice tiny 1S battery.... No idea why, as again the board is powering up and the 7 segment is showing logic changes. Can't exactly use a smoking camera though, and failed to test it in the return window. RIP me.1Absolutely worth the costAwesome little combo for 110mm quadcopter frame. I installed this into my radiolink f110s. It fits fairly well on the very front of the aircraft, secured with rubber bands. The picture is outstanding for what it is and the integrity of the radio transmission is very high. The ONLY issue I dealt with during installation is that the jst mini plug and the female counterpart were wired in opposition to one another so if you are planning on doing a diy install just be aware that just because the plug fits it may not have the same polarity.5Good Value, Simple to Use, Works FineI rated this a 5 based on price. The packaging is good with cut foam surrounded by a cardboard box, and the instructions are adequate. I powered this camera by cutting off the power cable plug, and soldering on a servo extension which was plugged into an unused receiver plug. Receiver was powered by a 5v SBEC (actual voltage closer to 5.3v). The test flight was kept simple - I attached the camera to the top of a DTFB plane with a rubber band. The camera worked, and the resolution is adequate for simple fpv flying. Using Quantum Cyclops goggles (stock antenna) from HK the range was Ok - I would estimate 400 +/- yards before I started getting intermittent fuzz and I chickened out. Compared side to side with my friends 700tvl camera with separate tx this camera does not have as good of resolution, but his dual receiver/antenna setup w 250mw tx his range was only somewhat farther (100 yards or so). Other planes in the air at distance appear more or less as barely distinct blobs on this camera - on my friends more expensive setup other planes you can more distinctly make out wings and fuselage. But what do you expect for $20?!?!? Some reviews say these camera/tx combos get hot - it did get warm, but not hot enough to melt the foam board it was mounted to or the rubber band strapping it down. Overall - it works better than you can reasonably expect for $21 (shipped). It would be nice to have better resolution and a plastic case surrounding the unit, but I assume it would be more expensive with those upgrades.5Half mile out and no loss of signal - buy this!Bought this for a long range micro brushless build and glad I did. I bought this because it comes locked in at 200mw and I don't need to change output power. Flew half a mile out and back without issue using this vtx+cam combo and not even the slightest loss of signal tells me i could have taken this out much farther. Best cam for the money!5Great little all in one fpv camera solutionGreat little all in one fpv camera solution. I used mine for a while on my Hubsan H501C to add fpv, until i did a mod to use the internal camera instead. It performed quite well with very good range. Be aware it has no case, and it does get a bit hot i use so be careful about touching it immediately after flight. Excellent product for the money, and it's probably about to have a new home inside my recently purchased Bugs 3.5Very poor build qualityWhoever put the camera together was not thinking straight, power wires wire hot glued to the pads and not even soldered, board was covered in flux and the solder on the antenna melted after 2 minutes of use anybody who says it gets warm is underestimating there MUST Be something getting shorted inside because it gets WAY too hot, and hot enough to melt solder at 5V. I am not requesting a refund because, cmon it's 16 bucks for a 16 bucks this is what you will get. But anybody looking for a good fpv camera needs to find another because this was dangerous.1Not terribleWorks as well as I expected it to. Picture gets blown out fairly easily by brother lights. But for what it costs, it's not a bad little camera. It's definitely great for an indoor fpv platform. One thing I would recommend to anyone buying this camera is to put some epoxy around the base of the lens BEFORE you start flying. One minor little bump and the lens will pop right off. Mine came off after disarming my FliteTest Gremlin and letting it drop about a foot onto the carpet. After I got the lens lined back up on the sensor, and coated the board and sides of the lens with some 5 minute epoxy, I've had dozens of crashes and the lens is as straight as it ever was. I dropped it onto the grass today from probably 50' up and it didn't do a thing. Also, I got the dipole antenna version. Seems to have pretty decent reception just flying in the backyard and around the house. I've also hit the antenna several times in crashes and it hasn't broken off. Seems to be a sturdy little camera (other that the lens but we've already addressed that). I'd say if you want something cheap to put on a little micro, this isn't a bad option. But, when I end up breaking this one, of if I decide to do more outdoor stuff, I'll upgrade it to a runcam. The light transitions make flying on a sunny day quite difficult.4great little cameragreat little camera. my only complaint is the difficulty with transitioning from sunlight to shaded areas. 200mW makes a huge reception improvement for distances of 400 ft. It probably consumes 1 minute of flight time on a 1S drone that would normally fly for 7 minutes. Small loss for the increase if flying FPV! I have flown outside around the house with out loss of video. Some static when the house is in the middle but still very fly-able.4Literally the BEST bang for your buck.I do a lot of FPV and usually I spend lots of time wiring up the FPV system and spending loads of money to get a decent picture. Even after all of this the equipment won't fit on something small. Well, those days are over. This little all in one FPV system exceeded my expectations 10 fold. It has surprisingly good range and the picture quality is unprecedented from something this small. The system weighs very little and is perfect for small RC planes / drones or even rally cars. Some velcro and a small battery can be added and you can slap this backpack on anything and convert it to FPV. I highly recommend this product. I think I have 6 or 7 of them now: worth every penny!! Things to know: It melts hot glue and some velcro adhesive. The mounting solution is important! Also the antenna is pretty delicate.5
