Customer Reviews

See the picture, note the description-that's NOT what you'll get!I ordered this product and received cheap looking, light weight and thin cable in a package with the designation "CAT5e" printed on the package. Unlike the picture the cable was NOT stamped with any specs. Before I ordered from this company (beware they also do business under the name importer520)I had never actually seen ethernet cable that was unstamped. Suspiciously, there was a sticker on the package stating that it was CAT6 cable, but since I have ordered many cables (CAT5e and CAT6) before it was obvious to me this is NOT CAT6 cable.Accordingly, I have tried to contact the seller to return this cable and they have been uncooperative. The seller information on Amazon indicates that Cmple or Importer520's products are returnable. Despite my several email requests they have not provided a return authorization number. Per their request I even provided a picture of the cable that I received. If you want a poor quality product, when paying for a high quality product, and no customer service or support then order from Cmple or Importer520 1BUYER BEWARE!!! SCAM NOT CAT 6 WIRE!!WARNING BUYER BEWARE!!This is not cat 6 wire. It is just thin untwisted unshielded phone wire. This item should be removed this is a SCAM!! 1If you actually Absolutely Have to have 100 Feet Cables, These are not for you.Of the Four 100' Feet Cables I received, One was 94 Feet, One was 94' 8", one was 95' 8" and lastly 95' 9"Also, the external PVC Jacket was quite thin. The other 2 cables were ordered on a different order so you see 6 but this order is only for 4 cables.BTW: the other order the two were 99' 6 "" long 1WOW. Not what I ordered. What I ordered and what I got were very different things. I got Cat5e cable by the spec on the sheeth. The picture AND description shows. Again Are you paying attention SELLER? The picture and description shows: Cat6 cable, Strain relief connectors, Anti snag connectors. It took numerous emails to the seller to try to remedy the situation. No luck. They just dont have a clue. Broken English emails. Poorly worded. Not answering your questions. WOWAmazon stepped in and refunded my money. So to sum it up I got cat5e with regular cheap connectors. I wonder if it was actually 100 feet.BUYER BEWARE >>>>>> Rip Off 1Only worked for a few weeks...Not sure exactly what went wrong with this cable, but it has stopped maintaining a solid connection after only a month or so of use. I bought this to run from my main home router out to my garage to a secondary wireless router. Seemed to work just fine at first, but a couple weeks ago the router started dropping the connection over and over again. I initially thought that something was wrong with the router, so I bought a new one but the connectivity issue persisted, so I tried an old cat5 cable and the problem went away. I should mention that the nature of the cable run was such that I had to leave it exposed at some points-- I ran it underneath my outdoor deck and I was able to mostly do the run through a conduit, but there were some lengths of the cable that had to be left exposed. My assumption was that a raccoon or some other critter might've clawed or chewed the cable somewhere, but after removing it altogether I can't find any place where the cable housing was compromised. It seems to be a very high-quality cable otherwise-- it's pretty thick and the ends are solid, but for some reason it just doesn't hold a connection anymore. I'm able to use it to stream HD content from my main house PC to an XBOX 360 on the other end for about 2-3 minutes before it drops the connection. The older cat5 cable I replaced it with works perfectly with no issues at all. This cable is obviously not rated or advertised for outdoor use, but I can't see any reason why it would've stopped working like it has. 3TrashGarbage 1DO NOT BUY THIS CABLEI had to shorten this cable, but instead threw this cable in the trash as soon as I saw how crappy it's in person.First off this cable is junk!!!!This cable doesn't use standard colored internal wiring. This cable also uses smaller gauge wires than standard.Internal wire pairs were barely twisted at all. Also, some comments are complain about the plastic core. This is CAT6 standard to reduce cross-talk from the twisted pairs, and allow for longer cable distances. 1I bought this for use with an HDMI extender that ...I bought this for use with an HDMI extender that required cat6 at no more than 60 meters in length. It did not work with this cable. I did get the extender to work with about 25' of cat5e cable so I shortened this cable to about 30' and added ~25' of cat5e with it and the extender worked with minor pixelation. After cutting this cable to shorten it, I noticed that the conductors did not follow standard network cable colors. It took awhile to ring out the cable to do the terminations. Between the incorrect color coding and the failure of the HDMI extender to function with it, I question whether it meets cat6 specifications. 1Good quality Cat6 cable... Updated... Reducing starsI liked the cable very well - no issues. My only negative would be that I dont "love" the strain relief type that comes on this cable, but I am using my own ends, so this was irrelevant to me, and ultimately wouldnt affect the fact it "works"...Update 3-8-14I liked the first cable so well that I needed another, so I reordered the same item from the same seller. The second cable is totally different. I cut these cables up and was actually using them as bulk cable with my own terminated ends. The first cable was exactly what I would expect of good quality cat6... The second cable was totally different. I didn't notice the difference while running the cable, but once I cut it up... It is cheap. You can tell. The internal wires were not even the standard wire colors or pairings... The jacket on the internal wires was so flexible and "cheap" it was actually difficult to punch down onto a terminal block. I suppose if I had left the cable with ends on it as it was shipped, I may not have known the difference, but I find it very strange to order the same product twice a couple weeks apart and end up with 2 entirely different products. This is why I am only reducing by 1 star, but depending on how you are using this, I thought it noteworthy. 4Adequate for the money100' of cable for 10 bucks? Like other reviewers I doubt this is CAT anything. There's no shielding and the jacket is cheap plastic. I ran a 75' segment in my basement to add an additional wireless access point and chose to replace both connectors (originals looked ok, but I had to cut one off for feeding the cable, plus changing a connector only takes minutes and you know it's done properly). Performance has been flawless (finished cable checked out fine on a network cable tester). I was worried that the crimping tool might not have enough bite on the relatively thin jacket but the connectors are snug and don't appear to be going anywhere. If you're going to run this cable and leave it alone, you'll probably be OK. I wouldn't try to use it in a way that required constant moving, coiling and uncoiling, or critical high speed stuff, etc. Certainly wouldn't trust it outdoors.Bargain? Sure was for me. In my application wireless connections are far more likely to cause a problem than inexpensive cable. So I'm happy. 4 stars because I don't think it's CAT anything, but it worked. 4
