Slick Little Gadget To Fix Inset Electrical BoxesThese are the cats meow for electrical boxes that were hastily installed by an electrician and are now too deep in the sheetrock! The design is awesome, just fold over as many as you need, cut and install. The little knobs stick one to the next, and the slot allows you to insert over the device mounting screw while you tighten everything down. The finished product is then flush to the wall and any cover plates go on utilizing the screws that come with the cover. I don't understand the need for fluorescent coloring, but you don't see them once the cover is in place so that's a moot point. They're a little pricey for a bag of plastic that probably costs 20 cents to produce, but someone has to pay for R&D and they get the job done quickly and well. Highly recommended.5Fantastic Solution to an Ugly problemThese are fantastic! For those unfamiliar these are used to fix the unsightly issue of when your outlet or switch sit too far below the cover plate due to the type of box that was used in the wall. These solve that issue quickly and are a cheap way to drastically improve the look of your home if you suffer from any sunken electrical outlets/switches. This does involve removing the outlet cover plate and outlet receptacle so make sure the electricity is turned off at the breaker before you go sticking tools and fingers into outlet boxes.5Very good product! Can't go wrongI don't leave reviews often but these little dudes really work well! After finishing my basement I had a couple boxes that were too shallow. These brought them up flush and did the trick! 2 pieces of advice, 1, when it says pack of 24, that's actuallly 24 strips with 8 spacers (that's 192 spacers). Second piece of advice, with normal receptacles I found you can go 3 spacers deep max, if you need to go deeper you're going to need longer screws.5The best dang ideaWish I'd have known about these 35 outlets ago. After a flood and the services of a greedy/hasty electrician who recessed every sticking outlet 1/4" to 1/2" below the new drywall. I used the only outlet extender boxes I could find - the kind you slide all the way over the outlet, shove back into the outlet box and end up losing chunks of knuckles and fingernails. Unfortunately I saved the 4-gang boxes for last and realized I was up a creek. I'm so glad to have found these but really regret not knowing about them weeks ago.5These really work!!!Just to be clear, there are 24 strips that have 8 spacers connected that are easily twisted off. You can connect one or more just like legos depending on the space you need to cover. So helpful on fixing electrical boxes that are too far in the wall and keeping the switches or outlets from moving around when using.5Fantastic ProductI recently remodeled a tiny house. All the drywall was pulled and replaced making all the outlets and switches sunk into the wall. I needed 2 of these per screw and everything shimmed out perfect. These little shims stack perfectly. The little tabs fold on each other so each layer is attached and they clip together with buttons. I'll buy these again, what a great value.5Great spacers, multi-purpose, too :)One of my house projects is air sealing all the outlets, so I have some sticker seals that go on switchplates and also these guys to prop up outlets that are a little too recessed. I also ran into some trouble with some new handles on my dresser, where the screw BARELY went in!!! So I MacGuyver'd it and used these spacers to make a nice snug/tight fitting handle so I can use this stinkin' dresser that has been a total PITA project! LOL5Adds space and fixes problems from previously poor workmanship I bought these a while ago and finally got around to actually using them and they work just like you would expect them to. I live in a home where I would say the build quality is less than ideal. We have face plates that don't always sit flush the way you'd want them to. I consider myself to be a more capable DIY type of person, but I don't want to be "that" guy to the next homeowner who did everything halfway as long as it looks good in the end. Anyway, I found my switch plates weren't sitting right because the spacing was off behind the plate. Sometime the drywall was broken so the bottom of the switch would stick out further than the top. This would make the switch loose causing it to kind of push in a little. I found these spacers and thought it was inexpensive enough to be worth trying. It takes a little guess and check to see how thick to make the spacers stack up to be just right in each situation. They're kind of like Legos how they snap together and then just slip over the screw so it's pretty easy to use. I took a star away because they sometimes fell off my screw as I was trying to put it in. Not a big deal really, but I didn't feel it was worth a perfect score because of it. You get plenty in a pack to last for several receptacles so I doubt I'll have to buy any more, but if I need them, I will probably reorder. 4So easy!I recently installed wainscoting in my dining room and needed to pull the outlets forward for the switch plates to fit back on. I ordered these Bender tabs and it was so easy! You just fold them together to the thickness that you need then cut it. I was very impressed with how easy these were to use and how well they worked!! I highly recommend this product!5Easy to use and works greatThese worked perfect as spacers for extending outlets and light switches to be flush with wall plates again. I recently did a remodeling project and had to use 1/4" drywall to cover up some old walls. However, the old receptacles sat too far in and didnt allow the switch plates to attach properly. These spacers are easy to cut to size you need and slide around the outlet screws so they stay in place while screwing the receptacles in place. Highly recommend. One side note...I recommend cutting off the two nubs on the top spacer to allow it to sit more flush with receptacle. They are easily cut with utility knife.5Saves time and aggravation. This little gadget saved me several times on my last project. While replacing my outlets along my kitchen counter top, w/GFCI outlets, I had trouble reaching the outlet box because the whole outlet box would push in deeper behind the counter when I tried inserting the new GFCI outlets. This set the new outlets too far back into the wall. So I ordered these and they did exactly as I needed bringing the new outlets up closer to the face of the counter and then flush with the faceplates. I liked that I could easily adjust just how much spacing I needed by folding over the spacers to the depth required. I also like that I did not have to unscrew the outlet all the way because these spacers are open at one side allowing you to slide it over the screw. That saves time and aggravation and that I like! 5These are a life saver if you accidently set your outlet boxes too deep These are a life saver if you accidently set your outlet boxes too deep and don't notice until you've already hung drywall. Stupid mistake on my part, but these worked like a champ. They fold into each other at the crease and lock into place via Lego like tabs to achieve the desired spacing. Keep in mind that if you need to create a lot of space, these won't go as far as you think. In my case each outlet required 4 pieces, which is 2 folded together for the top of the outlet box and two for the bottom, This created about an extra 1/4 inch of space to get me level with my drywall. This came with 4 strips of what I would describe as 8 tabs (although some may call it 4 tabs if they count both sides as 1). All in all, for my purposes, I was able to fix 8 outlets with one order of these, or 2 outlets per stick, making up about 1/4 inch per outlet. 5Get these if you are installing wall tile or a tile backsplash This is really an ingenious product. When you install wall tile or a tile backsplash you will be left with electrical outlets and wall switches that are now well below the surface and need to be raised to install the cover plates properly. These make this job so it couldn't be easier. Simply snap off as many of the sections as you think you'll need and fold them back and forth into an interlocking stack. Back the screws holding the outlet out until the outlets are flush with the surface, and slide the stack of spacers onto the screw. If you didn't get it right, you can easily add or subtract individual ones to make it perfect. If you're not sure, use an extra one since they will compress with additional tightening. If you have thick tile, you may need to replace the screws with longer ones you can get at the hardware store. This beats installing an electrical outlet box "extension" by far (I tried this also). Great little product. You may be tempted not to, but please be sure to turn off the power to the outlets or switches that you are working on. 5Super easy solution for kitchen backsplash electrical! Works like legos! These are life-savers for installing electrical over black splashes in the kitchen! Very easy to use, just fold and snap on - and if you need more just add more like legos! I used it for too for putting an outlet inside of my ikea cabinet so I can power up my under cabinet lighting - it filled the between the back of the cabinet to the wall nicely and easily! Total life saver - and much better value on Amazon than big box stores! Although a typical homeowner will probably never need all that comes with the package, but you can share them with your friends in need! Highly recommend it!5
