Interferes with texting and doesn't hold up to droppingI confess, this case is the first time I've branched outside of my otter box. I'm hard on equipment. I ordered this because I wanted a cute case!The good: It is cute! I love the gray, but the rose gold isn't particularly beautiful in person. The case is thinner, easier to hold. The texture on the back is interesting.The needs improvement: the first thing I noticed was how difficult it was to text and pull down the top menu. If you're a fast type or just impatient, this isn't the case for you. My next complaint is that after dropping my phone once from about 4 feet, the case is loose. My phone isn't damaged, but I didn't expect the case to be so fragile. Last, the textured back is supposed to help grip, which isn't true. It's slippery and also easy to scratch.Overall I'm not terribly disappointed, but I won't be purchasing this brand again based on the touch interference and fragility. 3Great case for the costI love this case.The pros:- The case color is as shown.- It fits my Samsung S8 perfectly.- It has dust protector ports- I can access all the side buttons- I can use my touch screen with the screen protector on it- It was less than $25!The cons:- The screen protector does REDUCE screen sensitivity, but it doesn't make the touch screen unusable.- Other reviews say the settings/notifications bar at the top is difficult to access. This is true. I found that I just have to press a little harder and hold the touch to pull the bar down.- Other reviews also mention the rainbow/bubble effect from the screen. I think this is more noticeable when the screen is off. When it is lit up, I hardly notice it.Bottom line:This case is less than $25 and LifeProof/Otterbox cases are $50 to $100. The minor hindrances are worth protecting my phone if I drop it (again). I'd rather spend $23 on this case than $150 on a repair deductible. 4 stars because it isn't perfect but it's pretty great. 4Here's a real Review... Awesome case!The Gold is a little more "ROSE GOLD" than the picture can show. It's more feminine in color than I expected. However,.. Not a deal breaker. This case is awesome. I see other reports of sensitivity issues, and I admit at first I experienced the same thing. However, I discovered that the thin plastic sheet that protects the screen for shipping leaves a very fine film on the actual screen protector. With a quick wipe using a lens cleaning towelette, it cleaned right up. The screen is easy to use, and there's nearly NO screen sensitivity loss. I would buy again and again and again.. (but in a different color next time :)Installation was remarkable simple, and fits beautifully.You will be happy with this one Galaxy S8 owners! 5So far I like it. one of the cons is the touch ...Just put this case on for the first time a couple days ago. So far I like it. one of the cons is the touch sensitivity isnt as good with the protective cover on so I have to press a little harder. I can still scroll with my finger just fine. The drop down box at the top is harder to get down but you can still get it down. Overall, I like this case as I am sure I will get used to the touch sensitivity part. I use my finger to slide text anyway. I like that my phone is totally enclosed in a case as I am very clumsy and drop my phone a lotUpdate: I change the touch sensitivity on my phone and it help a lot!. Go to you settings then to Display then to Navigation Bar and you can change the touch sensitivity there 4It protests the phone but not the screenI only got this case because it's a full body case, which is what I wanted as Samsung 8 is a curved screen. When I first got the case last month it fit beautifully and I liked how the front cover covers the corners and edges.I am an outdoor person and so one day my phone fell out as I was rock climbing. The phone cover protected my whole phone which was GREAT but it didn't protect my screen. I don't know how the angle of the phone fell onto the ground as it hit but by the time I got my phone, it was face down.I did take the original screen cover off that was included with the case as I already had a shatter proof screen cover on it.The screen protector that I had and the Clayco phone cover helped to protect the phone but I feel the cover could of been better since it cracked my screen as it's a whole body phone cover.Overall, it's a nice phone cover. A little bulky but it fits nice in my hands. Kinda challenging taking it off but it fits snuggly in the case. 3Great buy but not perfectI love this case! I am accident prone so I often drop my phone. I have dropped it twice so far no complains. I was looking for phone that had a thinner case but still had a screen protector built in. I really like the blue diamond pattern on the back. If I had one complaint it is that you have to touch the screen harder than you have to touch the phone screen without the case and you can see little specks when you have the light hit the phone screen certain way but generally when you're looking straight on the phone you don't see the specs.Update: after several months of use the screen is easily scratched and has this weird build up on the protector. It seems to be mostly where I text. I like the phone cases so much I bought a second one but it seem to happen quicker the second time 3Excellent phone cover!Works with the wireless charger just fine as advertised! Easier to put on the phone than the phone covers I've had before. It's brand new to me but it seems like it will be scratch resistant & heavy duty enough to protect the phone well. The color was as advertised too.The only possible downside I would say is the fact that if you use the fingerprint scanner on the back, you'll want to wait & scan your finger after putting this cover on, as it changes the angle your finger touches the scanner at. It's not a big deal if you've already scanned your prints to the phone - just test to see if your fingerprint still works as registered, and if not, delete the registered fingerprint under security settings & re-scan with the cover on. My right fingerprint still worked just fine, but my left fingerprint was only working about 50% of the time after putting on the cover. It took me about 1 minute to delete & re-scan it so the phone would know what it looks like with the cover on and it read my new one just fine, so not a big deal. 5Great caseThis case has a built in screen protector which makes the screen less sensitive I will add a video later,So I had to use a stylus most of the time. Plastic screen protector gets worn down with keys in the pocket. But it s a step up from the otter box without the screen protector. 5Awesome..Love this case but the only thing Is you have to press harder to type. But overall case fits very well and is indeed great protection.Update: I have had the case for a week now and the front screen protector broke in. I can now type normally and swipe from the top. 4I was surprised that finding a good case for the Galaxy S8 was such a choreAfter getting my new phone, I was surprised that finding a good case for the Galaxy S8 was such a chore. I had always used Otterbox in the past and after finding out the new defender series didn't come with an integrated screen protector and the problems people were having with Alpha glass, I eventually ended up here and decided to try this product.You install the phone face down into the screen protector and then insert both into the rubberized bottom. It fits together tight. The sides of the bottom frame are only sightly higher than the S8's screen, but there is a good safety margin of the top and bottom in terms of clearance over the screen, so you don't have to worry if you lay the phone down on it's face. The cutouts around the jacks and speaker are precisely aligned. I did not notice any drop in signal strength from this case. One potential issue is that the rubberized flap that covers the charging port is a bit harder than the Otterbox rubber (its this way with all the rubber on the case) and so when you plug it in to charge, the flap pushes against the charge cable. Over time I'm a bit concerned about putting stress on the phone's charger port, so I may just snip it off with scissors. This flap usually fell off on my Otterbox cases over time anyway.It is important to note that there are no air bubbles or gaps in the screen protector over the phone's face. Mine is a perfect fit. There are cut out holes at the top for notification, the front camera, etc. I can't imagine wasting time with screen films and application sprays. This is the easy solution.In terms of how it changes the use of the phone, there is good and bad. Swiping from the left and right is relatively easy, and more so once the top breaks in in a day or so. Swiping up to see your apps is also easy. If you choose to light up the edge panel on the right, it is also fairly easy to swipe access to it with the case on. The real problem is the top notifications and where you set your phone's various settings - wireless, gps, bluetooth, etc. Swiping down from the top does not work at all - at least with my fingers. I do not think this is the case maker's fault, rather I think is how Samsung designed the phone - they have made it very difficult for case makers. The work around I use is as follows. Take your thumb and touch at the very top of the screen protector, where the cut outs are for the notification light, and hold your thumb there for a second. The white settings panel will appear and then with your thumb you can pull down the virtual panel to expand it to see your notifications. So this case comes with a cost that what was once a one step swipe is now a clumsy two step process. People who are drunk a lot or old may struggle with this. For me, I think it is a sacrifice I have to make to keep my screen protected from dirt and scratches.If you can live with that, then I think this is probably the best case solution right now with a built in screen protector. I can't say how well it will protect against drops yet, but I don't expect it to be as rugged as my old Otterbox cases, but then again I think the S8 is a more fragile phone than my old Note, which was an indestructible tank in my Otterbox. 4
