Customer Reviews

Not 24 AWG wire more like 28 AWGPhoto speaks volumes. The blue jacketed wire is true cat5 24awg. The white jacket is what they are trying to claim is 24awg. I measured the product with mucalipwrs and the wire diameter is only .013 and 24 AWG should be .021 in diameter. Using a wire stripper it will not strip the coating till I get to the 30 AWG notch. This confirmed that the wire they claim is verified cat5e is not and probably a label printed on a label machine with no supporting documents.Save yourself headache and nightmare and spent the money for real cat5 wire. I been doing communication work for nearly 30 years and seen a lot of games. This is a common game played by offshore wire companies. I scoped the roll and there is even breaks in the wire. So if you wanted a long run this is not the one to go with.I called Amazon and they are placing a hold on the sale of this wire and I hope they make companies prove the product is what they claim. I wish I could add more photos to show how truly bad this is. 1Best advice is to add an extra inch of cable ...Would give 5 stars for '5 Star' cable but for one gripe: foot markings are given in 2ft increments, but the cable measures out 1 inch short for each 2 foot increment as marked on the cable. Cable spans from ~1001ft mark to 1ft mark netting, in theory, 1000ft of cable. Taking into account the 0.5" per foot increment shortage however you are left with about 958ft of cable on this 1000ft roll. Not a huge deal on the ~4% loss, but were you to be counting on accurate cable markings for you measurement on long spans of cable (even taking into account extra footage for mistakes), you might just end up a few feet short of your mark (~10ft short on a 250ft span). Best advice is to add an extra inch of cable for every 2 feet of cable you had planned on cutting. 4This cable works great for short runs as well as runs that are ...We're utilizing this cable for security camera runs that utilize ethernet for both video and power (PoE). This cable works great for short runs as well as runs that are 300+ feet. No degradation of quality, cable spools out easily, and strips/crimps with no issues. We purchased 6 boxes to start, and today purchased an addition 10. Definitely recommended. 5Ditch the WiFi and run some cable!I decided to stop relying on WiFi for all my network needs. The first step was to purchase a decent quality CAT5e cable. This CAT5e cable is reasonably priced (I purchased from surpluscctv with zero shipping cost), seems to be well constructed, and is solid copper wire. It readily uncoils without kinking. I was able to run a long length of cable from my 2nd floor Master Bedroom, down into the garage, down into the crawl space under the house, across the length of the house, and back up into the room where our modem resides. It pulled out of the case easily without any snags, tangles, or hang-ups. I also ran a few other tortuous lengths; all without problems.I had to consult Google on how to properly install the RJ-45 fittings (I bought the recommended fittings and crimping tool as well). The proper order is White/Orange, Orange, White/Green, Blue, White/Blue, Green, White/Brown & Brown. My internet connection speed using these new runs of cable shows no degradation at all (verified via speedtest.net). I'm very well pleased for sure and recommend this product for those who have struggled with reliable WiFi coverage as I have. 5An excellent buy. This is an excellent buy and I used various colors of this product to re-run the network for my whole office. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I did have a couple of kink issues during the pulls, AND a couple of runs (without kinks) that did fail open when tested. So, as best practices dictate, always run an extra cable length or two for every drop. (I did.) This cable is inexpensive enough that you won't regret having the extra lines if all test good, and won't have to re-run a length if one tests bad.I will definitely recommend this to others and re-purchase it if I need to run CAT 5e again. 4Good cable, spools out perfectlyGood cable, spools out perfectly. I was running this by myself up into and through the attic and not one snag. Not much else to say, footage numbers on the cable and standard crimp on connectors were a breeze. Would by again for sure.Edit 8/7/16 - so I went on the cheap and bought another brand (videosecu) on Amazon at half the price. Big mistake. Wish I would have spent the extra $50 and saved myself a bunch time un-kinking the cable when pulling through walls and the attic. Five stars for the 5 Star cable! 5Connecting two buildings and other usesI used this to connect two buildings together, running through conduit. Seemed to hold up over the winter without issue. I used it for a couple other projects without much issue. I've run a good number of cables in days gone by. I wouldn't rate this one high, but for the price, it is more than acceptable. I'd buy again. 4and the internet runs great. HoweverPulled at least 500 feet of this in a warehouse from the service drop to my unit, and the internet runs great. However, the cable does not have feet markings printed on the cable, I'm sure to save cost, so I have no idea how much cable of my 1000 ft box I still have. I would not recommend this product for a professional AV installation company unless one was going to sell the box to the customer and not reuse it for future jobs. You can only guess how much cable is left by looking inside or measuring one's run. 4Good choice. Will buy more.I use this at the office to run Ethernet drops for computers and equipment. When a box of cable is bad I have a lot to say about it. When it's good all I have to say is that it's good. this one is good. It's easy to crimp ends on it. The wire is solid core so and that makes a difference.I have not put test equipment on it to check for signal degradation but I did replace some other pulls that were installed with cable that were not solid core to try and solve connectivity/performance issues and it did the trick. 4An excellent buy. This is an excellent buy and I used various colors of this product to re-run the network for my whole office.
