Customer Reviews

There is a lot to like about this productThere is a lot to like about this product. I love the look and how securely it fits my iPad. I also love the way the iPad can be turned in any direction and held firmly. Nice design. Unfortunately, mine no longer works. It lasted just a few weeks. Many of the keys and the space bar no longer respond so I have stopped using it altogether. An issue I had with it even when it did work was that I had to go into settings to reconnect the Bluetooth every time I used it, which was quite annoying. 2Horrible Bluetooth Connection. This is not a good product. The Bluetooth connection between the keyboard and IPad is very weak. It routinely becomes disconnected and has to be manually reconnected (turn off Bluetooth, turn it back on, etc). Also, there is a weird delay between when you strike the key and when the IPad receives it; it makes typing for anything longer than a short sentence or two all but impossible. Can t deal with this substandard product any longer - it is going back! 1Extremely functional...I LOVE it!!I'm a medical student, and we're required to use iPads for everything (exams included), so I definitely needed a case to protect my iPad. I bought 3 other cases (and spent about $200) before I found this one, and it FINALLY has all the features I was looking for! No more switching between different cases for different functions (ain't no one got time for that). I've had this case for about 5 months, and it's perfect. It's very sturdy and durable - still looks pretty new (if I clean off the dog hair...). I bought the purple one and I really like it because it's subtle. It's not a boring black or brown case, but it's also not distractingly bright. The features I love:-360 degree rotation-the groove above the keyboard allows you to stand up the ipad (landscape or portrait) without the ipad slipping (this has been a problem with other cases i've purchased, where the top of the ipad slowly moves its way back down to the table)...the ipad fits snugly into the groove.-you can stand the iPad up either horizontally or vertically (i.e., landscape or portrait)-you can fold the iPad on top of the keyboard to lay it flat (perfect for writing and drawing), so no need to remove it from the case-rechargeable bluetooth keyboard (it's not detachable, which I like, but some people might like the magnetic removable keyboards better. I like it fixed so that my wrists don't push the keyboard around when I'm typing...also, I don't remember the last time I charged the keyboard, but it was SEVERAL months ago, and it's still kicking. I'm not even sure where my charger is...)-synthetic leather exterior offers great protection and always looks clean-ipad is easily removable for cleaning (some other cases took me almost half an hour to get the ipad back out because once i got one corner out and moved to the next, the first corner would snap back in...and don't worry, the ipad can easily be removed but it does NOT fall out on its own)-elastic strap keeps ipad extra secure when transporting it-very reasonable price (some brands are $100 or more for an inferior product!)The only potential cons I can think of (but that don't really bother me):-the keyboard is NOT backlit-there is only one angle option for standing the ipad up, but i think the angle provided is perfect. i've never found myself wishing it were at a different angle. it's been fine for taking notes, studying, writing, drawing, watching videos, etc.-the interior material is a fabric (kind of felt-like) that dog hair really likes to stick to (but the dog hair thankfully doesn't really stick to the outside of the case), but honestly my dog's hair sticks to literally everything, so I'm used to it, and finding a dog hair proof case wasn't really a priority to begin with-there are a few color options available, but I do think the company could afford to offer a few more, maybe some pastelsOverall, great case! I highly recommend it! I think I'm going to buy myself one in rose gold for the next school year. Very happy customer! 5Good product, especially if you need to switch between Landscape and Portrait mode. The biggest draw to this case for my iPad Air (2013) was the fact that the case would rotate to Portrait mode. My previous keyboard case was a logitech type+ and worked great, but only held the tablet in landscape. So that is where this review is coming from.Things I like:1) As previously stated, and most importantly, this allows me to rotate my tablet so I can work with PDFs in portrait viewing.2) Intuitive batter light, the type+ made understanding its single light a bit of mystery that required googling sometimes.Things I miss:1) The type+ had a magnetic "on/off" so need to switch the keyboard on and off to save power, it would auto turn on once I flipped the tablet into position.2) The multi-window key, the type+ had a hot key to replicate the "swipe up" function - in iOS11 it would unlock the control center. It was a great way to swap between apps without dragging it up on the screen.3) Rigid hold - the tablet is designed to be touched, pressed, and drawn upon. The advantage of the magnet on the type+ is it provided a strong contact such that when I touched the keyboard it never seemed like it would pop out of the holder. With the Finite holder I have to use a much more gentle touch.Still because I am often inside PDFs that are easier to consume in Portrait mode, I will learn to adapt, but I would certainly love it if Finite could use some of the features from logitech. 4Just what I was looking forI am very pleased with this cover for my 9.7 inch iPad. It is first and foremost very pleasant to look at. I love the design! The closure is secure. The tablet fits very firmly and securely in the case. The keyboard came with a decent charge and works seamlessly with my tablet. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a classy case that offers good protection and flexibility for use with a Bluetooth keyboard (included). 5Awesome Cover, Mediocre KeyboardThe case itself is sturdy, and quite pretty. It's got an elastic band that holds the iPad pretty securely in place. I've had several friends comment on how pretty the case is. I also love that the iPad turns inside the case so you can go vertical or horizontal. My only real complaint is that the keyboard isn't fast enough to keep up with my typing speed (appx 120 WPM). I have to deliberately slow down when I type using this keyboard, and that's difficult for me. I'm not sure if this is epidemic among small Bluetooth keyboards like this, but I don't really think so, nor do I think it has to do with the processor speed of the iPad itself. Honestly, the typing speed problem would knock two stars off if the case weren't so sturdy, but just as a protective cover, this is worth it. 4Still short of perfectionI've been searching for just the right iPad Air keyboard folio, and this is the second brand I've tried. My first was a Logitech which I loved, but the clips that hold the iPad tend to break, especially if you drop it only one time. I broke one, got a second under warranty which lasted over a year, then it broke. So I went on a search to find a new, different folio at a decent price. I had bought a Fintie case and separate keyboard for my wife's iPad, so I decided to try this all-in-one version.First, the good. The faux leather case is well made. No bad stitching or other defects. It looks really nice. (I purchased the black.) There are "bumpers" along the sides of the keyboard to keep it from touching the screen. All buttons and pots, mics and camera, are perfectly aligned and unobstructed. When open, the tablet sits securely at a good angle (in horizontal position, see "the bad.") I have no problem using this on my lap. The keyboard is responsive and easy to type. The folio folds back for using the tablet as a reader, and is easy to hold in that position if you use the elastic band to hold it. (Elastic band??? See below.)The bad. What you don't see in the photos is an elastic band that you must use to keep the case closed and the swivel mount from moving while you're carrying it. There is no other way to keep it secure. On the other hand, the elastic band is useful, even necessary, to keep the iPad secure when using as a reader. Although there are bumpers to keep the screen from touching the keyboard, my folio has a slight bend in the case below the keyboard, forcing the keyboard upward and the bumpers to pull down a little, so the keyboard does touch the screen. Well, so did my Logitech. You really should use a screen protector no matter the brand. In portrait mode, the tablet leans back at an odd angle, and is impossible to use on your lap. The weight of the tablet causes it to fall backward. The folio must be on a hard surface to use it in portrait mode. So I'll probably rarely use the portrait mode, so the swivel function that makes the case somewhat unstable and the elastic band are things I have to deal with when I really shouldn't because they are there primarily to accommodate the swivel nature of the case. When closed, the thickness of the folio is 1 1/4" on the thick (hinge) end. Overall the folio with tablet in place is medium weight. I don't have an issue carrying it.Your tablet and the keyboard will not automatically turn off when you close the case. You only need to connect the keyboard once, but you'll always have to turn it and your iPad off when you're done. You will drain the keyboard battery. The on/off switch is in an odd place - BEHIND the tablet when you have it upright position. So you have to turn on the keyboard, then position the tablet.I will continue to use the folio, but if it fails in any big way, I won't repurchase another and will hunt further for the perfect keyboard folio. 3Okay but not greatI read many of the reviews and learned that there is an elastic band that holds it closed so I was glad that I knew that ahead of time since the description never mentions it. The keyboard is slow sometimes and doesn t function quite as conveniently as my previous Logitech, who doesn t make them for my iPad anymore. I like having a keyboard, and I did finally figure out how to access my screen keyboard when I want to use Emojis, instead of having to turn off the keyboard and then switching back when I m done. All of that was a time consuming process. I do sometimes forget to turn off the keyboard but the battery life hasn t been an issue so far. I don t love the sound of the keyboard clicks and the backspace button doesn t respond promptly either. There is a thread on the stitching that is already coming loose but hopefully it will hold together long enough for me. I do feel I might need to search for another one at some point. I do love the pattern and people have commented on the pretty flower pattern. I like how the iPad fits into the molded case also and I ve always loved the cases I ve bought for my Kindle, which work really well. Lastly for whatever reason the screen doesn t sit straight in the slot to prop it up for typing?!? Not sure why it won t but it sometimes make it hard to type all of the numbers at the top. So in summary, it functions Okay but its not great as I was hoping. Other than keyboard sounds, and the stitch coming loose, it seems pretty well made so if my objections don t bother you, you may really like it. 3UPDATE: Lasted just over a yearAs a writer I appreciate the ease of typing on this keyboard. Soft, responsive keys, as good as any laptop. Also the case is very pretty and feels solid. I do want to add a tip to those complaining about battery life. I gave my keyboard one charge expecting it to last all week, and it lasted only a few days. But guess what, I left the case open without turning off the keyboard, the way I used to with my old one. Bad move! Close it up to preserve the charge.UPDATE: That was my original review. Alas, the ipad case popped off the keyboard cover yesterday and I cannot reassemble it. Oh well. I can still use the keyboard, and will replace it with another when I need to go traveling again. I guess a year of good use is not terrible, I do like the case. 4Great keyboard for iPadI ve been using this keyboard for over a month now and overall, I m very happy with it. I d give it 5 stars except there is on small caveat that I ve just learned to work with. The positive is that the iPad case itself is solid and hold the iPad in place perfectly fine. Access to buttons and the headphones plug is unhindered and I ve never had any issue getting to the buttons. The keyboard battery life seems very good as I ve only charged it once in the last month and I m not sure it really needed a recharge when I did it.As a primary PC users (not Mac) I use the ALT+TAB keys a lot to change between applications. I love that this keyboard lets me use the Command+Tab keys to do the same thing. It was just second-nature that made use the keys and when it worked, I was pleasantly surprised. There are two negatives that I can think of: one is that the keyboard is small and while it doesn t bother me, I could see how people with lage hands and/or fingers may have a hard time with using the keyboard. This doesn t bother me, do I didn t remove any stars for it. The part that I ve had to work around: for some reason if I turn on the keyboard and then the iPad and try to type in my password with the keyboard, there will be many issues with connectivity between the iPad and keyboard. I ve had to turn off Bluetooth, reconnect the keyboard, etc. and it s always problematic. Then I noticed this: if I use the onscreen keyboard to type in my iPad password and then start using the BT keyboard afterwards, it has stayed 100% connected the entire time I use the iPad/BT Keyboard. It doesn t make sense to me but it works and it s not that bad a work around. All in all, it s a great keyboard that does exactly what it is advertised to do. As I mentioned before I m primarily a PC user, but at work this iPad has replaced my Windows laptop for 50% of the work I do and it s all because of this keyboard. 4
