Great coverThis is a great little cover. When I went to purchase my Amazon fire tablet I wasn t thrilled with the color choices they offered for their own covers and the reviews weren t very good either. I decided to do some research on a different brand and found this cover. It was a great price, had a lot of great reviews, and I really liked the design options. It fits well on my tablet, it holds it nice and snug but it s not too tight. It is well-made, and allows for it to tilt to watch shows easily. It s also a very pretty design, it looks just like the picture shown on the website.5Sleek and FunctionalThis cover fits great and looks even better. I especially like the magnetic closures on the side pocket. Judging from the feel of this cover, as well as from my past experiences with Fintie products, this cover will last a very long time. (i.e.: I have a brown and black Fintie case on my old 7" Fire HD that's survived daily use and carry with very minimal wear and tear)The only things that I would change is to add one more strip to allow the kindle to be held a little closer to a right angle, as well as a way to hold the cover open when folded behind the tablet to hold it in your hand - another magnetic contact point, a velcro loop, or some other mechanism. Otherwise, this case is perfect for me because it looks professional enough for work, but has just enough style for casual settings, too.5Choice of angles helps a lot, well-made (but really 4.5 stars)The multiple angles available for this case make it worth the few extra dollars vs. the slim fit, fold-around-back single-angle style. I bought one of the latter first (also a Fintie) and found the angle hard to read at a comfortable distance for reading. Both are good quality, sturdy, fit the Fire HD8 perfectly, and the auto wake/sleep works. This one is somewhat heavier, and the anti-slip stripes for the viewing angles are a bit annoying when the cover is flipped around to hold the case vertically like a book, but overall, I prefer it. As others have mentioned, the colors are not as bright as pictured, and what I thought would be metallic gold in the Shades of Blue design is actually just a yellow-gold color. I haven't found a use yet for the front cover pocket, but it might come in handy someday. So, not perfect, and yet quite a good case.5Disappointing appearance-wise, but fits 2017 FireI am part magpie, and love teal blue so was really looking forward to this cover because of the beautiful color and shiny gold bits. Sadly I'm disappointed in the appearance - it works ok, fits my Fire HD 8 2017-edition, and does turn on the Fire when I open it, but I'm not sure I can get over my disappointment at the dull appearance.Also - it had a very strong unpleasant smell that lasted several hours after opening the package. I don't notice it after about 12 hours though.The color is not as bright as the photo shows, nor are the yellow/gold bits shiny. I usually buy more 'professional' covers - my previous covers have been black or dark brown - but I dislike this enough that I may return it.I've always liked Fintie cases, hopefully this one is just a one-off.3PERFECTION!!!Finally!! After 3 purchases and exchanges, I finally have the real deal case. I tried a hard candy bar armor case initially, but felt it looked a bit juvenile. Then chose a slim fit case, but my tablet slid out of it when it slid off of my ottoman. SCARY! Especially since the ottoman is so low, I thought what it it fell off of a counter? Yikes plus the grooves that was supposed to hold it in place for viewing was not secure at all. It would always keep sliding and flattening out.So this case is absolutely awesome!!!! As soon as I felt it in my hand, I NEW it was what I was looking for. Slim with weight. A bit of cushion for security. Vinyl brace to hold in place but still able to see my yellow tablet peeking through I don't see the magnets, but they're there...secure no flip flop. Also as bonus, the front sleeve is actually magnetic as well. So I can slide my ID, bank card, business cards in there without slippage.Lovely lovely love pattern. Took the leap and chose something not just basic and so glad I did. Oh! And a place to hang the pen/stylus.5Good not great - I miss old tent-style cases.I bought this case as a replacement for one of the cases where the front flap folds into a triangular "kickstand" that I was unhappy with (kept falling over), and have been mostly pleased with its performance. While it works great for using the Fire on a table or hard surface, I find that I need to be viewing from a higher angle to get a good view on any of the pre-set positions. The case falters when trying to watch a movie with the Fire resting on my stomach, as the default angles all point the screen too far up. You can try to get the case to hold the Fire at a less-steep angle by wedging the edge of the Fire against the case closer to the hinge, but I've found that to be only a temporary solution, and prone to the Fire folding down (very startling). Note that I did try to use this case in a standard "tent" position, however the built in hinge mechanism leave the Fire prone to falling over in that alignment.The material itself feels very nice, with a secure fit around the Fire that is still easy to remove when needed. The design of the case and its functionality do make it a little bulky with the extra layers of material needed for the folding/kickstand function, but it's not too bad. The magnetic screen-on feature when opening the case is a very welcome addition as well.3Well Designed and Stays Out of the Way.I love this case. I needed to replace my old one, because it relied on these little rubber tabs to hold the tablet into place... but those rubber tabs were constantly finding their way over to my Fire's buttons: nothing like being in the middle of a video chat and wondering why the other person's voice is suddenly inaudible. This case is MUCH better designed, and as it turns out was actually less expensive than the one I had.None of my Fire's features are inhibited by the design of this case. The speakers are clear, and no buttons are covered. There's a small opening in the back that allows for the back-facing camera to still be used--something my old case lacked. There's no trouble accessing the memory card, either: once your Fire is in this case, there's no reason to ever need to remove it. I especially like that the tablet awakens from sleep the moment the cover is lifted.This is a terrific case if you're a Kindle Fire owner, and it's a very sensible price especially when you consider it's the last case you're ever going to have to buy for your device. I wish I'd have found this one first!5... Amazon Fire Tablets recently and this one is the best! Not only is this case made well, affordable and beautiful .. but, it has a detail that not even my $40 Amazon case has. This case has speaker holes on the spine of the case. I purchased it for a friend, and hope I can find this exact case in a 10 inch model. It's perfect! Also, I appreciated that this case did not have a manufacturer name embossed on the front of the case .. just my preference. -Thanks!5Nice design and very petty.This case is very nice. The design is really functional. I like to watch my Kindle at night, in bed, so I needed a case/stand that could sit on the mattress without falling over. I love the simple design that sets the tablet up and has a large base instead of just a little stand in the back. The colors are really pretty and the case is overall very sturdy. There was a bit of a smell at first, not being real leather, but it went away in a day or so. Value price, quick shipping and a great product. Thanks!5Highly recommend this case!I searched several links for cases for my new Fire HD 8 and decided on this one. It arrived today and I love it!It's synethic leather, very good quality, it fits perfectly around the tablet, and the document card pocket on the front is very utilitarian. A great feature of this case is the way you can set the tablet at three different angles for viewing - you don't flip the cover back as some cases require - instead, this has three strips attached to the inside cover and you simply place the tablet at the angle of your choice - very easy and functional.Adding this info: I didn't know it, but the folded edge of the case has three holes in it for each speaker, so you can listen to audio even when the case is closed, which is a super feature! I'm amazed by the quality/volume of the sound coming from the Fire HD 8.5
